I've just had a hate-mail on this book. Apparently I am a Very Wicked Person for what I did. I don't even know how they found this old review.... What did I do, I gave Drugs to two other people and didn't tell them. That is inexcusable, right? Well they were my parents... does that make it better?

Can we say "stir crazy"? Seethe gently in butter and don't stop stirring or it will burn. Make something nice with the butter or just put in on hot toast with maybe some marmalade. Oh yum.

I once did that. Well not quite. Back in the day, I was given a large jar (an old coffee jar) filled with home-made marmalade to take home. So I shared it with my parents when they had their cup of tea to go along with News at Ten. We had toast instead of biscuits and the marmalade was so delicious that we finished it off. My parents went to bed about 11ish. I stayed up to listen to music and read. It hit before midnight. JEEEEEZ what were my parents going to say????? Oh my sweet Lord, there was going to be hell to pay next morning. My father was a magistrate!

So next morning my father said, I know what you did. Don't ever do that again. Long pause then he added, You know you only ever kiss us goodnight when you've been smoking that stuff. I didn't say anything, nothing at all. And he left for work. I left and didn't come back for three days and by the time I did my mother had other stuff to get on my case for. And I never asked my father exactly how he knew what was in the marmalade.

The important point about cooking with weed is to know that the active ingredients are soluble in fats and alcohol, but not water.

This book might be very important for people who have AIDS and late-stage cancer and who no longer want to eat. The marijuana will stimulate the appetite, specifically for high-fat, high-carb foods, (the fridge will become munchies-central) and that will obviously help in keeping strength up and enabling the medications to work. Marijuana also suppresses nausea due to radiation and chemotherapy but probably smoking or drinking it is a better idea than munching it as it works a lot faster. But then maybe you only want the book to know exactly how to make the brownies (add walnuts or pecans, improves them a lot).

Sometimes, I really like to pour through a good cookbook, and this one fits the bill. I especially enjoyed the descriptions on how to make ghee. Unfortunately for me, I am missing a few ingredients or I might have been cooking right now and not writing a review. Alas.

Nifty little book. I love that it tells you why you're doing what you're doing as opposed to being just an assembly of recipes.
