For centuries, a fire swept through Europe. It raged on and on, putting nations and kingdoms at its mercy, and that fire came from the North. Due to a series of socio-political triggers, the Vikings emerged from their northern homes in Scandinavia and swept all across the realms of Europe - south, east, west, and north. Mastering the navigation of the oceans and dominating the riverways, these vicious Northmen embarked upon their swift longships and introduced an entirely new chapter of Europe's history. Merciless in war and cunning in trade, they found their place in faraway nations. From Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, and Greenland, down to the Iberian Peninsula and into France, North Africa, and the distant lands in the east, the Northmen left their mark.
I was thoroughly impressed by the second installment of the Vikings series, finding it just as captivating and informative as its predecessor. These books never fail to entertain, offering a wealth of new and up-to-date information that keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
Once again, "History of Vikings" delivers a fascinating exploration of this intriguing chapter in history. The series continues to provide a quick and accessible overview of Viking culture, making it a delightfully easy read for enthusiasts of all levels.
What truly stands out about this book is its comprehensive coverage of the various regions and interactions of the Vikings. It feels akin to completing a condensed college presentation on Viking history, with each chapter offering valuable insights into their travels and influence on different lands.
Through meticulous research and engaging storytelling, this book sheds light on the expansive reach of Viking culture, leaving readers with a newfound appreciation for their impact on history. Personally, I found myself even more enamored with Viking culture after finishing this book—a testament to its compelling content.
I particularly appreciated the well-differentiated sections, which effectively showcased the vastness of Viking travels and territories. It was eye-opening to realize the extent of their reach, and I am grateful for the knowledge gained through this exploration.
In conclusion, "History of Vikings" continues to impress with its rich content and engaging presentation. I eagerly anticipate future releases from the History Nerds team, as each installment promises to offer further insight into this fascinating era.

I read the ebook and listened to the audiobook, so I am reviewing both here since I don't see separate listings for the audiobook,
Another great ebook/audiobook by History Nerds. I loved this book. I learned so much about Vikings in various parts of the world, some that I never would have associated with Vikings at all. The narrator is THE PERFECT voice for telling Viking stories, true or fictional. His pronunciation is everything. And the details you learn from this book duo are not your typical Viking knowledge. I LEARNED from these books (and at 55, I've heard quite a bit.)
I truly recommend this book, and the first in the series too, for anyone who loves Viking lore and anyone studying that period, or history throughout Europe and beyond. This has me wanting to read/listen to more from History Nerds.

Book 2 of the History of the Vikings. I enjoyed reading this book. It is well written. I love History, especially the Vikings. This book has sections on Vikings in Ireland, Norseman in Wales, France, Pagan Religion, to name a few of the chapters in this book. I loved it.

In this book, the expansive travels, conquests, and influence the Vikings had around the European theater are described. These are the original Viking Cruises. . .no side excursions, just pillaging as you go.
