Getting ready for the first day of school? This book is for you. A cute story (with a twist), illustrating the preparation before school for a mum and daughter team. Who's more nervous on such days? Parent or child? This story should help calm those nerves with its light hearted approach. The quality watercolour illustrations create a rosy scene against the exercise book backdrop. A bright and quick to read hardback book, that can be read just before the big day.

Miss 4 wasn't too fussed. She found the text too short to interest her (although it's about starting school, it feels a bit more aimed at starting kindy).
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
This is so great. So helpful for kids starting school. It makes it fun and has tips on ways to make them cope with it. New sayings you could adapt or create your own to repeat to your children to drill in to them they will be ok and you will be picking them up soon.
A very sweet little introduction to all the first-day-of-school feels. I especially love the surprise twist at the end. Jonathan Bentley's illustrations are also adorable.
