ISIS. Ebola. Social disorder. Religious persecution. Rampant immorality. Are these the harbingers of the biblical apocalypse, of the end of the world? If they are, what do they mean and when can we expect this to happen? In this eye-opening book, prophecy insider Robert Jeffress offers a reasoned look at these "signs" and what Jesus Christ himself meant when he talked about a future so horrendous that no human lives would be spared "unless those days were shortened" (Matthew 24.22). Did He have our time in mind? All over the world people are aware that something unprecedented in human history is about to happen. COUNTDOWN TO THE APOCALYPSE presents vital information that everyone, both inside and outside the church, needs to know to be prepared.

Have you noticed the signs all around you, in the news that can only point to the fact we might be living the final days before Jesus Christ comes for his church? The Bible predicts it with such accuracy, you can't help but believe what is happening all around us with what Jesus told his disciples what would happen in the last days in Matthew 24 when they asked for signs that would foretell his coming.
There are five very specific signs that Jesus told His believers that we should be looking for. (1) Spiritual Deception, (2) International Conflict, (3)Natural Disasters, (4)Fierce Persecution, and (5) Widespread Apostasy. There are those that would argue that these things have happened as far back in history after the crucifixion and don't mean Jesus is coming back any time soon. Yet the Bible does warn that these signs will be like birth pains for a mother with child. They will begin to happen more frequently and with stronger intensity as a expectant mother nears the birth of her child. We can definitely see that these very things are happening right before our eyes.
Pastor Robert Jeffress is a pastor first to his church in Dallas and also a Fox News contributor who has written his book, Countdown to the Apocalypse. It provides readers with a biblical message that can't be ignored in light of the things happening in this country today, from widespread drought in California which will impact our agricultural food supply, to ISIS threats and beheadings of Christians all over the world, to the impact of diseases like Ebola. Now that our nation is on the verge of negotiating a nuclear agreement with Iran, and turning its back on Israel, we are unwittingly setting the stage for the fulfillment of a war against Israel by those nations the seek to wipe her off the face of the earth. While the timeline is slowly moving forward, this book highlights those passages of scripture that show us quite clearly that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled more this century than at any other time in history. The end result is one you don't want to miss.
I received Countdown to the Apocalypse by Robert Jeffress compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Groups for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions contained here are strictly my own. I've been a huge Bible prophecy fan since becoming a believer and now more than ever, I believe more people need to be concerned with the rapid number of events that are all happening simultaneously that they can not be ignored. From extreme weather to the fall of our own economy, God told us to watch for signs that would be as apparent as a fig tree beginning to bloom that points towards summer. It will be that obvious for those that know what to look for. Trust me, you want to be prepared for what is coming and that is why I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.
First off I would actually rate it 3 and 1/2 stars. It is better than an average book. The author is concise with his points and the whole book is easy to read and understand. I believe the book does make the reader stop and think seriously about the state of the world and the conclusions the author comes up with. The one thing I would question a bit about is the mention of Ebola in the title. The author does not delve too much into how that works into the End Times. He spends much more time delving into the relationship of ISIS as well as other terrorist organizations. Still, it is a very interesting read.
I personally would recommend people read it. It may provide some incite into the current state of the world that they might not otherwise experience. I know some may not like it simply for the religious aspect of the book. However, it is still an interesting read.
Very good book for believers and non-believer in Christ to read. For a believe it helps you learn more about the Bible and the explains where we are in the world. For the non-believer it explains why so many believe in Christ and why we see the events of the world as we do.
The Countdown to apocopys by Rober Jeffress is about the earth and how terrorism and viruses are killing and taking the world. With ISIS taking Afghanistan and Ebola and covid the killing, it explains ways to stop and to seek salvation in religion. It doesn't have main characters, and it doesn't have a set time/era. It states bible terms, quotes, predictions and talks about the second coming of Christ. It also states how the world is going to be destroyed and how you need to seek salvation. If I'm going to be honest, this book felt like listening to a johoves witness reading the bible at your door. You don’t wanna do it, but you have to if you want to be considered cleansed. That's why I'm giving this story a one-star rating. It just wasn't worth it, it has the potential to reach a 2 star, but it didn't talk about anything except how you need to be Christion or else your life is not cleansed. This book doesn't have a theme, or I at least didn't find one. It will probably be if you are Christian, your life will be cleansed.
Published in 2015 it’s already a bit dated, but his exhortations to focus on Christ and to recall the times we live in are still relevant. Think a new edition/update would be helpful.
Jeffress explains a complex and important concept in word we all can understand. We all wonder what tomorrow brings but Jeffress tells us to expect the world continue on a downward spiral. More importantly he tells us how to meet it with peace in our hearts.
An insightful, easily read summary on prophetic theory applied to modern times. The author uses a nice blend of scripture and real-life examples. This book explains basic principles and church teaching. Hopefully, future editions will delve into more advanced interpretation.
