Priscilla Shirer is a wife and a mom first. But put a Bible in her hand and a message in her heart and you’ll see why thousands flock to her conferences and dive into her Bible study series’ and books each year.

A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Priscilla holds a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and considers it a privilege to serve believers from every denomination and culture by helping them to know the truths of Scripture intellectually and encouraging them to experience these truths practically by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In addition to Priscilla’s participation in many church and para-church conferences across the globe each year, Going Beyond Ministries hosts AWAKEN – an outreach event in their hometown designed to encourage and mobilize women locally. This free gathering brings together thousands of women from different denominations and backgrounds several times a year in an effort to stir revival.

Going Beyond Ministries also equips believers through books and Bible study resources. Priscilla has authored over a dozen video driven studies for women and teens on a myriad of Biblical characters and topics including Jonah, Gideon, the Exodus, discerning God’s voice, The Armor of God.

Her books include Discerning the Voice of God, God is Able, and two New York Times Bestsellers – The Resolution for Women and Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan for Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer, which was named the 2016 Christian Book of the Year. Her latest offering is a 365-day devotional called Awaken: 90 Days with the God Who Speaks. In 2016, Priscilla ventured into the world of children’s publishing with The Prince Warriors, a fiction 4-book series and accompanying 365-day devotional (Unseen) designed to equip tween boys and girls for victory in spiritual warfare.

Priscilla has been married to Jerry for 20 years. Between studying and writing, she spends most of her time cleaning up after (and trying to satisfy the appetites of) their three growing boys – Jackson, Jerry Jr. and Jude.

A great bible study. This allowed readers to see themselves in one of the Bible’s most notable characters, David. I was really moved by seeing David’s flaws for what they were and still receiving redemption at the end.

A great Bible study of David who despite being an awful sinner, was a man after God's own heart.

I have done several bible studies as a group, but I don't think I've ever completed one where there were multiple "voices" or perspectives leading the group.

This study is led by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, AND Kay Arthur. Each woman leads for a portion of the study. When they do, each woman comes with her own insight, reference, and delivery. I really enjoyed the first half. But Kay's portion was really tough. It could just be her style that rubbed me differently or maybe her subject matter was more disheartening.

I think in some ways its helpful to have fresh perspectives from multiple narrators, but for me this didn't work. It felt too disjointed from week to week, person to person. Just as I was digging in and really getting what the author was referencing, they switched leaders and thus perspectives. I had a hard time switching gears.

And Kay's need for us to use all different colored markers and drawings felt tedious.

Thankfully, I did this with a group so I could push through. I still learned a lot and as always, came away refreshed and renewed. But there are better studies out there. Frankly, Beth Moore's "A Heart Like His" is a much better, more in depth study of David.

This was an amazingly insightful study on the life of David. I’ve always admired him and his journey, but this study had me to see it all from so many different perspectives that I hadn’t before. I highly recommend this study to anyone looking to grow deeper and study inductively in God’s word.

This was an EXCELLENT bible study and a treat to have three very well know authors/speakers. The videos were a great addition and easy to purchase online and download if you don't have access to the DVD. Recommend the study for those who are experiencing a life change, a transitional season, or who are in a season of devastation or trying to move past a devastation or for those who are waiting for God's direction for their future.

A study of Davids life-- I have joined 3 other women in this study. SO far in the first week I was really blessed by the reminder that when God has called us, he will establish the work. I needed to hear that this week.

The remainder of the study was timely, and I appreciated Kay Arthurs style of inductive study.

Great study about the life of David, and a good opportunity to listen to three different Bible teachers. They each have a different perspective/style, and each were great in their own way. Definitely worth the time--I learned new facts about David from scripture, and was challenged in my faith. The program is currently not saving my stars, but I gave it 4!

For those who like the Beth Moore studies, but find them mostly too long and too challenging. In this one Beth partners with two other excellent teachers (Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer) to unfold some incidents in the life of David. Only six sessions.

I completed this study of David at Mountainbrook Community Church. Enjoyed learning about David; his anointing, transformation, and redemption. I gained a deeper understanding of God's infinite grace and love and we're all a part of His greater plan.

This is the Bible study book my ladies' Bible study just finished. I love it. It combines the work of the 3 most prominent female Christian motivational speakers and authors into one study.

Loved this study up until the last section where Kay Arthur steps in. Have a hard time resonating with Kay, although I've heard many really like her stuff.

A great walk through of David's life...with a healthy dose of humor balanced with 'right in your face' truth.

Something from this study will speak to each woman who takes it, for sure!
