An eminent politician with ties to royalty, Uday Rajvansh had no use for a wife. Any wife. Clamoring for a respite from her never-ending bad luck, Niyati Mishra was in a desperate need of a husband. Any husband. A tragedy tied these two unlikely candidates in holy matrimony. He cursed his stars. She fell to her knees and thanked hers. But abruptly, their marriage lost its cause. His freedom was within his reach again. However, he wasn't sure if that was what he wanted anymore. For it had become clear to Uday that Niyati was the one he had been waiting for, all along. Subconsciously. Reluctantly. Desperately.
DNF @ 15% I got suckered in with the title and 5⭐reviews… and it’s not bad per se, but it’s long and slow moving… and I don’t have the patience at the moment. The flow is also awkward at times like either this book is translated, or English isn’t the author’s first language.
The book opens with the h going along with the H being blackmailed to marry her. She’s pregnant from his recently deceased brother and needs money and for her child to be legitimate. The H is running for a political position, and the h’s friend threatens to go to the press.
The h has a sad backstory (abandoned orphan) who got pregnant, but it’s hard to pull for her when she knowingly allows the H’s world to implode because she didn’t practice safe sex. Within the first 7% she loses the baby and agrees to stay on because she likes having a mom. (H’s mom – he can’t have the divorce scandal close to his election)
She knew Uday Rajvansh disliked her immensely, but pathetically she wanted to hang on to his mother for some more time.
Bottom Line- I’m not feeling it. Like I said above, the writing doesn’t flow together. It’s clunky, the names are hard to keep track of. IMHO, it’s too long and needs to be streamlined focusing the plot on the couple’s relationship. They hardly interact with each other.
Awesome read.... This is the first book I am reading from this author and once I started it, I just couldn't put it down. Very well narrated story, with beautiful characters... I am in awe... going to search for more books from this author now!
This book marks my first encounter with the author's work, and I must admit it was surprisingly worth the read. The plot unfolds at a well-paced rhythm, creating a captivating effect with its slow burn. The author skillfully reveals information gradually, weaving in sensitive topics that resonate effectively.
One aspect that requires mention is the use of Hindi words throughout the story without sufficient English detailing to aid comprehension. While it adds authenticity, it may leave non-Hindi-speaking readers longing for a deeper understanding of certain nuances.
Both Uday and Niyati are compelling characters, but what truly shines is Uday's evolution as the story progresses. His growth is subtle yet profound, capturing the readers' hearts. It is refreshing to witness a character that undergoes significant development while remaining true to their core essence.
There are many elements to appreciate and enjoy within this book. However, some supporting characters seem to appear and disappear without adequate closure, leaving loose ends that could have enhanced the overall narrative.
A captivating storyline that explores the complexities of love and personal growth, the well-paced plot, and the gradual evolution of the main characters make this book an intriguing and worthwhile read.
I’m giving this story 4 stars because I couldn’t put it down 😆 I had spent the whole night reading it because of how good it was. This is what you call a well written enemies to lovers book where the characters actually hate each other in the start. I was especially happy at the pace of the story, as well as the plot twist 👀 the book was originally from Wattpad but you will have to download it from kindle unlimited to be able to read the full version 🪶
🍓 one reason why I did not give this book 5 stars was because of Uday’s annoying ass. He’s a man child who does not take no for an answer and always has to be right even though he is loud and wrong 50% of the time. Why does he have to resort to physically restraining Niyati when she has a mind of her own. It irked me how audacious he was from start to finish of this book…he ALWAYS had to have the last word 🫤
🍓 I also felt like the plot dragged on for too long. That whole plot of Niyati’s class mate having a crush on her and demanding her to answer him ???? Wrap it up. It just caused an unnecessary argument between the Uday and Niyati 🫥 when I got to this point of this book, the only thing I was thinking was surely not….
💋ANYWAYS💋
Niyati knows how to stand her ground and I love that for her .
It's the first adult romance that I have read of Anamika. What a wonderful story, I just couldn't put the book down. A story about an orphan, Niyathi who marries a royal, Uday. Dive into this book to read their story. Hope to read many more of her books 😀
Uday Rajvansh, a politician connected to royalty, didn't want a wife, while Niyati Mishra desperately wanted a husband. They reluctantly got married due to a tragedy, but soon Uday realized that Niyati was the one he had been waiting for. Now he's unsure if he wants his freedom back because he finally found the one he needed.
CHARACTERS :
Uday was a complete jerk. He insulted Niyati, who was carrying his brother's child, even though he knew how his brother acted. And then he had the nerve to make her be with him just because he developed feelings for her, without considering what she wanted or how she felt?! Ugh, he was unbearable.
Niyati was such a fool. She would let anyone who showed her a bit of affection trample all over her while wearing a stupid smile. Didn't she learn anything from being deceived by Uday's brother? Nope, absolutely nothing. And why? Just because she liked her mother-in-law, she decided to continue with the marriage. Sigh, it's frustrating.
ROMANCE :
What a messed-up "romance" it was. Uday forcing Niyati to be with him just because he loved her was beyond toxic. I almost pitied Niyati, but then she accepted him as her husband and still didn't stand up for him, even though he went out of his way as a powerful politician to meet her in another city. Damn! In the end, it seemed like Niyati didn't truly love him. She was just happy to finally have someone and was scared of being lonely again, rather than genuinely caring about losing him. And Uday, well, he did love her, but his huge ego and messed-up ways constantly screwed things up, making his love toxic.
The story contained a few intimate scenes, which were not overly explicit or graphic in nature.
🌶️ : 1/5
REVIEW :
2 stars ——The book started strong but declined after the campaign rally. The characters had intriguing qualities, but their personal issues were overdone, resulting in overwhelming personalities. Uday's ego hindered rational thinking, while Niyati's need for affection made her vulnerable. Due to which, their romance suffered as Uday forced Niyati into a relationship, and she complied due to fear of abandonment. It was hard to believe Niyati eventually loved Uday, given his toxic love. The plotline was entertaining, aside from unrealistic elements. However the book's ending fell short of satisfaction.
This book is full of angst. I enjoyed it. The inner monologues were very long and they were boring. Uday & Niyati having the same issues throughout the book was also annoying.
I actually liked Uday more than Niyati. I mean sure he bulldozed his way into her life at almost every single time. But he was a good husband and he genuinely felt sorry for what all he did and said to her. Him getting jealous of Vaibhavi was so funny and cute. Him falling in love with Niyati was clearly visible. But I never saw or felt Niyati falling in love with him. The thing is, Niyati was a strong character. She didn’t forgive or forget easily, she guarded her heart well and she only wanted happiness for her son. She was misjudged badly. But the thing is, I never saw her overcome those insecurities or issues. Till the end of the book, unknowingly , she was thinking Uday to be the same as his brother. She constantly doubted him but when it was Uday’s turn she played the victim. Uday did say the right thing that she didn’t defend him at all in-front of Raghav and that was a very sad scene. As I said, I never saw or felt Niyati falling in love with Uday. I believe she only stayed him because he gave her everything she wanted… a family, security, love, protection and stability. The things she never had in her life before.
Overall I enjoyed the book. There were a few spelling errors here and there.
"Every man has his own idea of an ideal woman and you happen to be the embodiment of mine, Niyati."
This book was really angsty at times but I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Even if they got off on a wrong start, Uday & Niyati had an undeniable connection. And while Uday may have been a jerk in the beginning, I liked how he softened up towards Niyati and then eventually tried to put efforts to build their relationship. Yes, he was pushy and stubborn at times but I think Niyati definitely needed that push because she has been nothing but cagey and reluctant. This was a rare case when I liked a MMC more than the FMC. While I could see that Niyati had been hurt and lonely before, I just couldn't help but feel frustrated because of her stubbornness and her ability to constantly jump to the wrong conclusions. Still, overall I enjoyed reading this book and the epilogue was really heartwarming. This was a new author to me but I really enjoyed the writing style and I'm definitely going to check if she has some other books that I can grab!
When I had started reading this story, I couldn’t fathom that the story which started as a marriage of convenience would turn out to be so deep and beautiful. I believe Strong plot and smooth but gripping narration can make any story beautiful and this had all the elements in it. It may appear a bit longer to the readers who like to read shorter books but no where story was dragged and it fetched all the required emotions at the right time. If you like to read a novel with a strong plot and something different from the regular billionaire romances which have everything but story and emotions, you must pick it up. This is my first read of this author and I must say, she is wonderful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I randomly choose this book to read. I was not too eager but nevertheless started reading. My gosh it took my breath away and I clinged to the book. The characters, narrative and the premise everything good. This love story is nicely told. The gradual progression from hating to love, slow change in the behavior of the lead characters touches the heart. I thought the Raghav's episode is unnecessary. I thought it is simply stretching the story. But in the end, it became clear that this incident made Niyathi stronger. Good love story
How two world can coincide together. A building of trust and forgiveness. A life of being excepted in a world of different lifestyle. I enjoyed the story immensely. Though I wanted more interaction with all of the characters. A more feel of everyone leading up to who there were. Ex: She went to college. But there was leading up to what was to happen to her in more detail. ( I didn't want to do any spoiler alert) I would read another book by An a mine G K
Normally the usual romance n upheaval followed by happy ever after is what one would expect. But this was a surprisingly very different story n well narrated. The dialogues are well thought of, the characters well presented. Difficult to put down once one starts reading. Recommended to all.
“Because this marriage had an expiry date since day one. I never saw it as anything permanent.”
This is an interesting story of dashing and dominating hero Uday Rajvansh and good-hearted heroine Niyati Mishra. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to people who love reading Indian romances with a royal and political background.
Truly engaging...couldn't put the book away...had to read it in multiple sittings unfortunately due to other commitments but really enjoyed the book from the first letter to the last...keep up the excellent writing Anamika
The book started well but then had a decline towards the end. I liked some scenes and was frustrated with the others. The book has a lot of potential if the character Niyati is not so naive and one-dimensional.
I think it is a lovely book to read I have re-read it as well! It was a wonderful description of what a mother goes through to care for her child as well as the pain she actually goes through on the inside when the child dies… I completely recommend it!
All in all the book was good. It had a lot of potential when you started but it sort of worn out towards the end. It could have been much more emotional and heartfelt. One time read for me.
