Nine times since 1865, the Reaver has emerged from the mountains to demand a blood sacrifice of the historic town of Coalchester -- and threatened a massacre if its demands were not met. Now, more than 40 years since its last communication, the Reaver has returned. This time, some of Coalchester's citizens are are not willing to give in to the creature's threats, and they've put their faith in a cure that may turn out to be worse than the disease. Much worse.
