(2017) This is a wonderful read if you would like to learn more about Our Lady of Czestochowa, "the Black Madonna". In particular, the first 30 pages give the legend and background of the painting. Following that are numerous tales of miracles attributed to Our Lady.
I have been to the shrine and gazed at icon. I had no idea who Our Lady of Czestochowa was or what the icon represented before going. I was on a pilgrimage with my church so that I could visit the country where my ancestors came from. This one visit changed my life through the intercession of Our Lady. I am so thankful for that. Miracles do happen at this very special place!
I had never been drawn to Our Lady of Czestochowa before reading this book, but after reading it, I am drawn to her as never before. This is a wonderful book, and shows the great love and devotion of the people to our Blessed Mother, and Her honoring that faith, that love, that... by granting miracles, and so much more.
Read about Jasna Gora in Siekiewicz's trilogy and this gives even more detail. I would love to go there and see the treasury of votive offerings throughout the centuries at the monastery.
