My Review

This was fabulous and can be read as a complete stand-alone. It’s set in the same world as the others but stands up easily on its own merit. It’s in a completely new sector (blood Sector) and involves the V-clan wolves. Here Kieran finally manages to chase down his errant mate Quinn he’s been on her trail for the past century after she fled from their initial betrothal. Quinn is a princess with many secrets and an unknown agenda she left behind Kieran her intended to rule blood sector in her name.

He finally catches up with her in Bariloche sector assisting some abused Omegas now Kieran has no intentions of allowing his intended to once again slip from his grasp much to Quinn’s annoyance he locks her down tight. Quinn has been on the run for a hundred years she never intended to be gone so long but somehow managed to get sidetracked and lose her way. She has many secrets and doesn’t know who she can trust though she does now want to lay it all on the line for the wolf who by his own actions and behaviour has more than proved to her that he deserves all of her loyalty.

I adored Kieran even when he messes up and he does he’s willing to offer all of the apologies. Though he can be arrogant and quick-tempered he’s also loyal and incredibly patient and nurturing he makes allowances for Quinn’s current fractured temperament. He certainly doesn’t condone her actions but he does try and at least understand realising things are not always black and white He obviously still lacks trust which is understandable especially considering their past track record but wants desperately to move forward and now build that trust with Quinn.

Quinn could be all over the place her present mind-set very confused and also prone to overreactions mostly because of the unintentional damage she’s done to her wolf. She wants and needs Kieran but is so scared that her trust may be somehow be misplaced. He just seems too good to be true. But her wolf is all in and knows exactly what she wants.

This was emotional and gripping and brought forth all of the feels. I adored Quinn and Kieran’s dynamic together and the chemistry between them was red hot. This was as usual very well written and I finished this in record time. This ends in a HEA for our royal pair but that epilogue definitely left me wanting more in regards to Quinn’s bestie Kiera I can’t wait to read her story in the next book in the series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Blood Sector.

Love this new series!

This is a spin off from Lexi’s X-Clan series. We were introduced to Quinn and Kieran in Bariloche Sector. Although this is a stand alone series, I think it would make a lot more sense to read x-clan first and then move onto this one. If you like a steamy MF Omegaverse with a great plot, you won’t be disappointed with the X-Clan and now V-Clan series. Highly recommend!

3.75 - 4 stars!

It’s always fun being back in Lexi’s Omegaverse world. I love her wolves and this one is set in a new sector with the V-clan wolves. Quinn proposes to Kieran and enters into a betrothal with him and then disappears. After a century of chasing her, he finally tracks her down. Kieran wants Quinn as his mate and queen and Quinn has secrets that she’s unwilling to share.

Kieran has been ruling blood sector in Quinn’s name for a very long time and upon discovering his mate in Baroche sector assisting Omegas, he sets a plan in motion to keep her from skipping out on him again and also learning her secrets so that he may share her burdens and stand by her side. Quinn - stubborn to her core - fights Kieran at every turn even when she knows Kieran is a worthy mate and companion. Will the two of them learn to trust each other and rule together?

I adored Kieran - he’s a different kind of alpha than I’m used to reading from Lexi but I loved him. He was the right amount of dominant and demanding and patient and nurturing. He is loyal and worships the ground Quinn walks on.

“I’ve waited an eternity to worship you.” His reverent tone drew my gaze down to where he hovered just above my chest, his lips a mere inch from one of my nipples. “Now you’re going to learn what it means to be mine.”

Kieran knows how to be a leader and an alpha mate and I swooned at the way he took care of Quinn even when, quite frankly, she didn’t deserve it. The main problem in Kieran and Quinn’s ability to move forward is their inability to truly trust each other and it was satisfying to see that bridge develop between them.

“For you, I would do just about anything,” I confided softly as I curled myself around her. “You just haven’t realized that yet.”

Quinn was a little harder to like at first. I found her to be a little selfish, arrogant and reactionary. Quinn may have developed into a beautiful flower but Kieran was her roots and her pillar of strength - consciously and subconsciously. I understood most of her motivations and fears but she lacked the common sense to trust her soul - her wolf. That was frustrating. However, her character arc was well done and by the end I loved the Omega she became with Kieran by her side.

“This male was mine. My strong Alpha. My King. I loved him. Cherished him. Respected him. And vowed to be his. Just as he vowed to be mine.”

Blood Sector was a great addition to the Omegaverse world and was full of emotional and passionate moments. The chemistry between Kieran and Quinn was undeniably sexy and I appreciate that this story had the smut I crave with the action packed plot. I am looking forward to Kiera’s story because she sounds like a badass. Lorcan better watch out!

Lexi C. Foss is one of my go-to authors when I'm in the mood for PNR. Blood Sector was another good book by her, but not my favorite.

I LOVED the first half, but there was a lot of repetitiveness, and I didn't like how the mystery was solved at the end.

BUT I loved the dynamic between Kieran and Quinn. Kieran felt different compared to the Alpha's, which I'm used to in these types of stories (like her other series set in the same universe: Andorra Sector)
He was a worshipping hero that wanted consent and didn't just claim what he wanted. It was refreshing!

I like character-driven books and couples that actually communicate. However, these two constantly misunderstood and distrusted each other, which was reasonable at first, but became a little tiresome towards the end.

That being said, the little glimpses we got of Lorcan/Kyra and Cillian/ Ivana made me excited for the following books!

→ Tropes ←
- ABO Shifter Romance
- Second-chance
- Mating
- Suspense & Murder mystery
- Smut
- Trust Issues

I loved loved loved this so much.

It was such a breath of fresh air to get an alpha in this world who isn’t totally an awful d*ckhead. Not that there’s anything wrong with the X Clan Alphas (well there’s lots of things wrong with them but I love them anyway).

Quinn was brilliant. She’s strong and rebellious.

There were a few miscommunication moments that added more angst but I am trash for the miscommunication trope so I loved it.

Deducting a star for the ending. It all felt too simple (all HEA, don’t worry). But reading book 2 develops on the ending of this and makes this feel better.

A SOLID 3.5 STARS! #myhighexpectations

Am I alone in this...or did anyone feel this wasn't hot and heavy enough? Like the sensual scenes were only a simple brush against the skin....I WANTED MORRRR!!! Anyways, maybe I'm the odd one out but, I felt the lack of kisses in it, at least those that really made my toes curled. THE ENTIRE STORY LACKED REAL INTIMACY that I have come to appreciate in Omegaverse stories. Heck, the knotting and kissing were so vaguely detailed....it didn't feel...PERFECT. Certainly not the panty melting type you'd expect.

QUINN frustrated (annoyed) me to no end in the beginning. She was PARANOIA in the flesh. I could argue for her sake that given the way her parents died and how she's been conditioned to treat everyone as "out to get her" for the big secret she's protecting...it made her rather annoying. The first time she straight out accused KIERAN, I was like WHERE THE FUCK IS THIS COMING FROM? And then okay, I can accept that given her decades in the Bariloche sector where Omegas are abused and her already paranoid mind, no wonder she'd CRY RAPE the moment KIERAN finds her 100 years later. Just in case you're wondering, the book started off great and then plummeted. I was intrigued, and I anticipated the chemistry and yes, the seggs between the MCs, but I was left...wanting. Terribly so. There was overwhelming MISTRUST, JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS and PARANOIA that it didn't leave much room for a natural relationship to form between Quinn and Kieran. One moment she's accusing him of something he hasn't done, and then later he's reciprocating by not trusting her at all. Tell me, where does that leaves us?

Sure, there's always two sides of a coin to a character's persona, and Quinn and Kieran aren't bad in any way but they have their faults - ones I believed dominated the story to the point where I found myself unable to immerse into their love story or lack thereof. ZERO TRUST just slaps me repeatedly in the face.

KIERAN was supposed to be older and wise, and in some ways I really liked that he was IMMENSELY PATIENT (and the mature one) with Quinn even after all the accusations and mistrust she hurled upon him. And let's not forget that she roped him into becoming her mate in the first place. Technically this entire mess started with Quinn prepositioning Kieran 100 years ago, before she fled and he's been hunting her since. For all his "I don't want a mate" behaviour, it didn't take too long for him to develop an attachment to Quinn despite them being strangers. Other than that, he's protective, possessive (I wish it showed more), and he's apparently good in bed, and I believe Quinn's his first real kiss.

OVERALL I've always appreciated Lexi C.Foss's stories, and an Omegaverse? Naturally, I'm not going to pass it up! I'm looking forward to the next few installations to the series, because it seems there are 2 more couples and the setting has been laid out for them over here. Super excited! My thoughts on this book are solely my own. Maybe I'm being too nitpicky but, seriously I was expecting something MORE passionate, and MORE intimacy, basically MORE MORE. Sighss.

PS : Personally I think X-Clan series still tops this first book.

I wanted to like this more than I did. I just didn't really care for Quinn. I thought it started off strong, but then it just kind of fizzled out, especially after the reveal. I did think it was pretty original though.

Review:
I was really looking forward to reading this book. I've seen it talked about on tiktok and I am curious to the omegaverse and what that has to offer.
The book started out good and I was hooked. I wanted to know how it would al play out and come together. Sadly the book didn't deliver imo. There was so much miscommunication and jumping to conclusions. Especially by Quin. She threw so many temper tantrums a toddler would be proud of. She was all over the place with how she behaved. Keiran most have found the motherload of patience to deal with her, because man he needed it.
There was allot of talk about how amazing and strong quinn was and she started out great but after that I didn't see it. It felt to much like we where being convinced of her awesomeness. Because al I saw was a tempter tantrum throwing, paranoid, to conclusion jumping, al over the place, brat. I got her reasoning in the beginning but the accusations she continued to throw around got old fast. Her jumping to conclusions should have counted as exercise because I'd loose 20 pounds by the end of the book.

The ending was a bit anticlimactic as well. Allot of build up and set up for it to turn out to be a ruse.

So yeah, the idea was great, the set up was great, I liked Keiran and the side characters but sadly this book just didn't deliver for me.

There comes a time in everyone's life where they have decided that they are going to eat healthy and save money. They make very specific grocery lists, have meal budgets, and focus on adding a lot of fruit and vegetables in their diet while desperately trying to make sure they drink at least 64 ounces of water before they go to bed. This goes on for days. Weeks.

And then, inevitably, there comes a night when the moon is high and the dark is quiet and they simply cannot sleep. They toss. They turn. Their stomach burns from the inside out and they can practically taste the individual components of their favorite soda.

So they crawl out of bed, grab their wallet and their keys, and drive to McDonald's in their pajamas in the dead of night. They roll through that drive-through, and come home with a fizzing soda and a steaming hot box of McNuggets.

And then there is the moment of euphoria that hits when they take that first magnificent bite of processed chicken slathered in way too much of their choice dipping-sauce. It feels like everything their body has ever craved in one bite. The very thing their soul has been yearning for since this ridiculous health quest began. And realistically, they know McDonald's isn't that great, and they are probably dumping a truckload of sugar and salt directly into their veins, and that heart disease is the leading cause of death, but nothing feels better in that moment than shoveling an entire ten-piece meal into their mouth while the healthy food in the kitchen bears witness to the scene with glaring disdain.

In the morning, it feels like a fever dream. There might be twinges of regret. But they will think about those glorious McNugs for weeks, never able to quite forget the taste of salt and grease as they turn back to vegetable medleys and fruit cups.

This book is like that first wonderful bite of a McNugget. I simply cannot explain this feeling any other way. I hope this helps you make your decision on whether or not to read it.

Blood Sector is about an Omega wolf, Quinnlynn, who is seeking out her parent’s killers (the king and queen). Now that she is the sole heir to the throne, all the Alpha princes want her hand in marriage. When you mate in the wolf community, the shared experience opens up your secrets to your mates. Quinnlynn was worried that one of these Alphas only wanted her secrets that she wasn’t ready to share. In order to safeguard her secret, she asked an Alpha to marry her that wasn’t already trying for her hand, Alpha Kieran. After some convincing, he accepted her proposal. While they did not mate fully, he shared his blood with her which also provided her with whatever powers Kieran possessed. She used these powers to not only evade him, for 100 years, but to also help other Omegas around the world. After 100 years of chasing her, Kieran finally caught up with Quinnlynn and they started the process of courtship. The relationship was strained for a long period because both of them have issues with trust. However, they continued to prove to each other that they were meant to be, and by uniting they could work together to aid in her secrets. What are these secrets? Can Kieran be trusted with the secret? Will their courtship sustain and hold real value to rule their sector?
I love a great shifter book, and this one was pretty good. The story line itself I thought was interesting. At the beginning there was some confusion because you were still trying to understand the dynamics, but eventually things fell into place. I won’t lie though, I really hoped that the secret she was keeping was going to be a little more dramatic. Maybe the author didn’t explain the reasoning of why the secret was so important; you know the players involved are important but I don’t think the author ever fully gave a reason why this “place” was necessary. What I think made the story enjoyable was the characters. The dynamic between Quinn and Kieran was beautiful, entangled, chaos. Quinn got on my nerves at times because she just couldn’t get out of her own way. However, Kieran was a wonderful character. You could feel his Alpha male status, but at the same time he was caring, thoughtful, and truly wanting to be a helpful partner to her. He also had an arrogance that was really intriguing, but it showed you that he is willing to bend but don’t forget that he is the Alpha male type of vibe. I think their growth as a couple really made the story. I will read book 2 when it comes out, but I am mad that I have to wait till next year to do so.

“I’ve waited an eternity to worship you.” His reverent tone drew my gaze down to where he hovered just above my chest, his lips a mere inch from one of my nipples. “Now you’re going to learn what it means to be mine.”

Blood Sector is the first book in the phenomenal (new) V-Clan series by Lexi C. Foss. This is an epic paranormal romance- an Omegaverse fantasy set in a post-apocalyptic world, with shifters (wolves), immortals, supernaturals, action, adventure, mystery, bloody violence, suspense, agendas, danger, strong female lead, panty melting Alpha male, spicy and erotic scenes, incredible scene setting/world building, original and thrilling storyline, dark elements, fate, magic, and soooo much more. I have read most of Ms. Foss’s books now and can count on her to blow me away, each and every time! This one is one of her best yet! I can’t recommend this book highly enough…..
I know I have said it before, but as I was reading this book I was once again struck by how truly talented Ms. Foss is. She really has seemingly limitless creativity and imagination which makes her such a brilliant storyteller- these skills make her stand out from the crowd and elevate her stories to the next level.
So, what are you waiting for? Reading this review will take away valuable reading time!! Grab a copy and get lost in the pages just like I did. You really WON'T regret it. You’ll probably want to thank me later 😘
Another MUST-READ!
Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Lexi C. Foss!!!

Sooooo did not see that coming

Sooooo did not see that coming

Might be my favorite couple

Quinn has been hiding from her "betrothed" for almost a century
She's running from him, trying to solve her parents' death and save the Baroche clan omegas all while protecting a family secret
It has finally taken its toll on her

Kieran has played the fool king long enough
Now that he has "found" his wayward little Queen he intends to ensure she can never "ghost" him again
Only something isn't right with her and he intends to use any means necessary to find out

To describe an A/o relationship as sexy, or sensual is not something I would normally do
But these two together?
Hade's bells 🌋
And that little twist? I have no words
I was so far off yet spot on

A great introduction to the alpha/omega genre if you are browsing and/or curious
For those who know - don't pass this one up!

This is the first in the V-Clan so it can be read as a standalone
It takes place in the same universe as the other Clan series

I'm dying to get my hands on the next in this series

Yes!! This was absolutely wonderful! I loved it!

Kieran was everything! He was certainly dark, delicious, and all too swoon-worthy!
Quinn was a fighter. I enjoyed her journey and growth throughout the story as she really came into her own.
Then we have their relationship… it was wonderful! I loved the cat and mouse between the characters it was fun to read and of course those sweet steamy moments were fan worthy!

I enjoyed the side characters as well and look forward to reading their story!

Lots of awesome tropes in here to look forward to like; morally grey MMC, resilient FMC, Alpha/Omega relationship, betrothal of convenience, betrayals, second chances, hurt/comfort, praise kink, knotting, and so much more!!

DNF - Quinn's emotions and actions are too chaotic and unbelievable. Made it about halfway but I just don't understand why she's treating Kieran the way she that she is and why he would want to put up with it. Especially after what she did to him.

Rating 3.5 stars - those that love the Omegaverse vibes will enjoy this book.

This rating and review kind of pain me a little but here goes. Kieran popped up in Barlioche Sector and I wanted to hear more about him, hence the reading of this book. I can't remember if Quinn was mentioned, but in my defence I read this book a while ago and my memory sucks at the best of times so...

This book focuses on V-Clan wolves this time and is more of a worshipping Alpha rather than a 'you will do what I want right now Omega...oh wait, this is detrimental to our relationship...I don't care you can still do it' kind of Alpha, which I appreciate. Kieran and Quinn were fine as characters and had chemistry but I felt that they needed more development in their relationship before they went all 'I love you, I would burn down the world for you'. Not quite insta-love (which I greatly dislike) but not far off it. Sadly I also thought that the ending was a little anti-climatic. The story was building towards the conclusion of a mystery 100 years in the making but felt a little flat.

That being said the writing and world building were solid and I would continue in this series because I am very much intrigued by Lorcan and Kyra, Cillian and Ivana.

I was given an ARC and because its Monday and I had Black Cockatoos in my backyard this morning (which was beyond cool!), I have provided an honest review

Well executed but a let down at the end

The storyline execution was well done, with few errors or other editing oversights, but I just felt let down by the ending. From the synopsis and 80% of the story were led to believe one thing only for it to turn out to not be the truth at all. I just could not appreciate the plot bait and switch especially given that this ending was beyond anticlimactic and felt like the conclusion limped into the finishing pages.

Overall I like this author's stories, but I have serious issues with some aspects of them which consistently leave me unable to rate them higher than three stars. They are well crafted, with decent editing and few errors, but the storylines, dialogue and overall treatment of the female leads make it evident this author does not believe in a woman's right to consent, nor do her stories make it seem that she believes overall in basic human rights for women. The most troublesome aspect for me is often how the author seems to have no problem with women suffering for even the smallest sleight to a male's ego, which is deemed disrespect. The "disrespect" normally is portrayed as the female simply speaking her mind and uttering a truth or an opinion that is not flattering to the male(s), so in essence while it's okay for the women to be feisty, they can't actually SPEAK their opinions in public, or ACT on their own wishes. Basically the stories are geared toward allowing females little to no agency of their own, having to rely on a male for everything. Females thinking for themselves or actually having the audacity to contradict a male is deemed disrespectful and an offense worthy of pain and suffering on the women's part, even if that suffering comes in the form of coincidence or karmic happenstance. So while I enjoy the stories, and the women are feisty and to a degree admirable, I don't like the way the women are treated overall or how they are portrayed as lesser or unable to handle decisions or incapable of making good choices without a male -- all facets of her storytelling that lead me to lukewarm reviews.

Blood Sector by Lexi C. Foss

I am honestly confounded. This was shaping up to be a solid 4 star read until the ending, which was not just anticlimactic but also made no sense to me. It is especially disappointing because this story was teased back in the previous series, which I loved, so I went in with high expectations and felt gutted by how it all wrapped up.

Lexi C. Foss is usually a consistently strong writer and I have enjoyed several of her books. Unfortunately this one did not land for me. The final twist felt flat and undercut everything the story had been building toward.

I really wanted to love this but I cannot overlook how much the final chapters changed my overall impression.
