This is Book Four in a series of reprints of the comic strip about the famous caveman Alley Oop, his girlfriend Ooola, and his dinosaur Dinny. Stories include "Sawalla", "The Search for Foozy", "The Mysterious Bag", and "Villains Three".
The fourth volume of Alley Oop daily newspaper strip reprints from publisher Acoustic Learning covers calendar year 1936. The contents are "The Search for Foozy," "The Feast," "A New Cave," "Dinny and the Wizer," "Sawalla," "The Mysterious Bag," "Return to Sawalla," and "Villains Three." The first half centers around Alley Oop and King Guz trying to best one another to see who will be king of Moo. The second half finds Alley and Ooola stranded in a new land across a dinosaur infested swamp, Sawalla. There, King Wur tries to marry Ooola and get his sister to marry Oop. Ooola discovers a new spice, salt, that makes food taste better, so she leads a contingent of Moovians back to Sawalla to obtain more. Meanwhile, our old pal King Tunk of Lem partners with King Wur and the devious Grand Wizer in an effort to defeat Moo once and for all. There's a lot of action and humor in these strips, with storylines that are fairly complicated for newspaper dailies. The strips can get a bit wordy at times, but the black-and-white art is excellent and is sharply reproduced from the best possible sources.
