All such books are compromises- to cram 3000 aircraft into a single tomb requires short descriptions and selected details. Regardless, this book is an excellent compilation of virtually all aircraft up until the early 2000's. It includes all types- military, civilian, helicopters, private, and many experimental government aircraft. About the only thing not included are the small general aviation experimental aircraft like Vans. But it does include Cessna and Mooney for GA. There are a lot of good, if generic, photographs and many have line diagrams of the top, sides and front of the aircraft. Some books I have are better in details (for instance they may have cutaways showing internal structures) but none is as far reaching in sheer numbers of aircraft. I have not been able to find an aircraft of any significance that is not included.
Would be even better if there was an updated version as the latest Boeing and Airbus aircraft are not included.
