An inventor whose name may not be well known today but whose inventions have undoubtedly shaped our modern world. The amplifier, the oscillator, the taking motion picture—these were the inventions of Lee de Forest, which he brought to life with intense interest, unyielding optimism, and courage against all odds. His life exemplifies the wisdom that when you get knocked down you must get pack up. And despite being knocked down through multiple failed companies and crooked partners, Lee de Forest always got back up, with a smile on his face, to return to the work he loved. His life’s passion was for invention, and if you think to yourself that an inventor, a scientist, or an entrepreneur is what you aspire to be, then this book is a must read.
