The Redemption

Rate this book
An emotional ride, an uncommon romance, and a who-done-it-like plot that will have you guessing until the unforgettable end… On a frigid winter night in a Boise hospital nursery, a desperate man commits a desperate act—he switches his ailing newborn child with another. Thirty-three years later, Annie Lorda learns of the switch through a letter left behind by her late husband. She discovers the daughter she raised is really one of a set of twins belonging to ruthless Idaho billionaire Andrew Post and his wife. Annie wants Post’s support. Post wants Annie. But mostly he desires redemption for his past sins including a terrible secret concerning one of his daughters—a secret he will guard with his life. A secret Annie cannot know. Detective Matt Downing, who is like a son to Annie, is hot on the trail of Post, threatening to expose Post's secret to Annie and the rest of the world... Set in the majestic beauty of southwest Idaho, The Redemption is more than your typical mystery and love story. Way more.

David Billingsley is from Texas but now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. His goal is to write "just a good story" for his readers. He's up to three books: The Redemption, The Switch, and The Connection, each similar in style and storytelling, yet different enough. There's plenty of genre fiction out there; if you want something unique, try one of his titles. Are they suspense? Are they mysteries? Love stories? The answer is yes.

A great suspense thriller that keeps your attention until the end. It is relatable because of the region it's placed in (near where I live) and was easy to follow that way. The limited set of characters made it easy to remember who was who and the backstories came out in a nicely timed fashion. The vocabulary was easy to follow, never anything too difficult to understand. I love how the secrets are revealed towards the end and the puzzle pieces begin to fit together. I was rooting for several of the characters throughout the story.

Good read

A lot of twists and turns in a well written book. Good character set ups, and finally a good ending

Great first effort by a friend of mine, very twisty plot, and the story takes place in some of my favorite stomping grounds.
