Frontiersman John Cooper Baines struggles to protect his family and his Texas empire from a band of murderous outlaws and the onslaught of vicious Mexican soldiers
I loved the first two books in this series. The third was OK, with some enjoyable historical context of the Mexican revolution, but more of the main character's brother-in-law than of the main character. This book, #4 in the series, again didn't have the main character as much and the story lacked the excitement and originality of the first two. I'm giving up on this series now.
