A New Era: Veiled In Grace

Rate this book
Book 4 from the Best Selling The Onis Chronicles starts a new tale 18 years after the Reign of the Ancients has ended! Discover what happens in the land of Onis as a New Era begins...

No one can escape the events of the past as they shape the future…

After losing her baby brother, Eivelyn dreamed of becoming a great physician, and the sensible human maiden had a plan. She and her family would travel from their quaint little home on Iyos Island to the human capital, Roco, where she would work until she could attend the academy and achieve her dreams. There was nothing extravagant or particularly thrilling in her life choice of becoming a physician. That is, there shouldn’t have been.

When following her dreams throws Eivelyn into a tangled web of secrets, the maiden must fight to survive and discover the truth about her past, present, and future. But, while Eivelyn is unraveling her own veil, even more will be uncovered with it.

Nearly nineteen years have passed since the Reign of the Ancients ended and a New Era had begun, and with it, a new race. As the Humans, Elves, Drow, and Dwarves rebuilt and expanded their nations, they remained unaware of another nation growing in secret. The Draikuva. With the Draikuvas’ growing desire to explore and discover their place in the world, one amongst them is determined to make that happen. When Allizea gets the idea that their mother is still alive, she will stop at nothing to discover the truth for herself.

Join Eivelyn and Allizea as they find their places in Onis and make their marks toward its fate.

This well written book caught me by surprise! I did not foresee the direction this new chapter of the story was heading! Ms. Davies' imagination, and ability to tell a captivating story continue to amaze me! I like the well done illustrations added in various places. Gives the reader a better idea of what the characters look like, their colors, and the way they dress. The languages she comes up with, and the glossary at the end are Tolkeinesque. I look forward to the next book!

A New Era: Veiled in Grace

An excellent read! The new race of creatures called the Draikuva are fascinating as is the background of how they came to be. The father and guardian of them is a morally gray United rider who is hard to like. The storylines are intense and the book is very hard to put down.

Just finished this book and loved it. Good to return to Onis and new characters as well as some old. Also the introduction of a new race called Draikuva. Hard to share more without spoilers but if you like fantasy and different worlds and beings you will enjoy this. I highly recommend reading the first 3 books in the Onis Chronicles to have the background that will aid understanding the story. Don't be concerned if the pace seems slow at first, especially following the previous books pace. It soon picks up and I found it hard to put down.
I received a copy as an advanced reader and this is strictly my review!

I truly enjoyed writing Veiled In Grace. After The Rising, I really wanted to go into the next trilogy with a little more fun and laughs, while carrying on the developing story about this mystical land. Although the theme is quite different from the last trilogy (more character-based instead of quest-based), I hope that my readers will still love it as we follow these characters and discover how they will change the dynamics of Onis even more. There are some big surprises coming, and I can't wait to share them all!

Things start to get pretty intense with Davion and what he is trying to make happen. Lots of unpredictable moments. The draikuva is a new race which could be good or bad. Things have changed in the Hunam Kingdom with what has taken place. Lots of new characters and some new creatures. Will war happen again? Another great book and was really hard to put down. A great fantasy series.
