I'd give it more like 4 1/2 stars. Usually I wouldn't pick up a book with a promise of a flat belly using a diet b/c of my dislike of fad diets, but this one is written by a fellow dietitian. The principles of the diet and cookbook are based on sound eating habits-eat 3-4 meals per day and keep the calories in check. Some of the recipes I've tried have been great (BBQ pork), but others have been just okay. Got it from the local library and I'm thinking about buying a copy for myself and or christmas presents for health nuts (MUFAs:)) like me.

I've been searching for a way to introduce more healthy food into my families diet, but have been unsure about things since it seems "healthy" changes every ten minutes. What I liked about this book is there are plenty of recipes that are "normal" in that your kids probably wouldn't notice you'd pulled a switch on them. This is basically switching out all the unhealthy fats in your diet, for healthy ones and how much you should have in a day. I didn't read all the initial sections, I'm mostly after the recipes, but what I did read was very informative.

Seems good, lots of tasty looking recipes. Now if I can just get all the pieces together and follow it... ;-) !

Good tips and recipes. Not sure the diet will actually help you have a flat belly, though...
