Amiranda: Princess Amiranda and the Tale of the Deciduous Forest

Rate this book
An instant classic tale portraying the life of "Amiranda," an innocent and brave princess, who unwittingly sets out on a quest that will ultimately determine the fate of her entire kingdom. From her castle window, Amiranda would gaze at the beautiful countryside below-always watching carefully, always observing everything. Gradually the princess realizes that she knows very little of the small kingdom over which she would one day reign. Nevertheless, Amiranda would never disobey her father's wishes, especially the one to never enter the mysterious dark forest, which borders their kingdom. That is, until one day when she would have no other choice. Amiranda will take a journey that will lead her on a wild adventure, where the decisions she makes will determine the fate of many lives-the lives of her animal friends, her family members, those who dwell in her kingdom, and her very own life as well. Travel along on this trip where Princess Amiranda hopes to find the missing piece in her existence and ends up trying to achieve the impossible....

Amiranda is a princess of a kingdom. The castle is on a hill and the kingdom is at the base and around the hill. There is also a dark forest that surrounds the kingdom.

Amiranda wants to go out of the castle and also wants her private French chef to make something new. She wants to see the kingdom that she will soon reign. While she was listening to the doctor talk to the king, the doctor said something about her Nana being really sick and needing a potion. Amiranda decides to run away to find the potion in the deciduous forest.

In the forest she meets some animal friends and the twin turtle (it has two heads) one named Simon and the other Sigmund. Then they met a squirrel named Sherman. The animals and Amiranda had to defeat the evil sorcerer with salt. They got the potion and everyone went home, had a good time, and sometime later the man who rescued Amiranda had a baby.

I think the book was great. My favorite part was when Amiranda talked to the animals especially the Beta fish. My other favorite part is when Petey (Amiranda's dog) jumped into the water to save her from the King of the Spider Crab's claw. I liked Amiranda because she was pretty, kind, loving, brave and very good willing.

I didn't like it when the sorcerer tried to make Amiranda fall into a whirlpool because it was pretty scary. It did have a happy ending but I think it should be like a family reunion at the end. In book two I'd like to see that their son is strong willed, cute, smart and playful. I would also like to have Amiranda's son to have a puppy.

I really liked this book and I'd like to know who is the second book going to be about. I am very excited to read the second part.
