Denis Tompkins is stuck between a rock... and being put to death by the organization that he works for, thanks to a little spot or two of attempted murder. Who would have thought, right?
Now the only way out is with the help of the man he tried to kill, twice, and it requires him to become a brand new person. Someone better than he was. Like making changes like that is ever easy?
To top it off, the world has changed in the months he'd been out of touch and while familiar, everything has gotten just a bit darker, bleaker, than he's ever seen it before. The bigotry and hatred for the Infected has started to reach a fever pitch.
Now, as part of a special squad, he has to travel the country trying to stop a rogue senator from starting a war between Infected and the regular people that fear them. If he fails the best case scenario has him going back to lock-up. The worse case is so bad he can't even imagine it.
P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line. Or visit his forum: http://pspowerbooks.com/phpBBF/index.php
In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!
Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

A great redeeming story, a character that left us with no sympathy at all in the last book comes back and makes us not only love him, but respect him, and understand him. There is a big change in Denis in this book and learning about his past make us completely change the way we see him (his improved attitude also influences a lot in it). Great pacing as always and we get more depth in other characters and new ones I like how the author handles first modes in this novel and the different mechanism he is creating to manage them. As always the plot thickens and there are different players at the game rigth now sadly is a game that our 'heroes' don't understand at all. I will gladly keep inmersing myself in this wonderful series.
Really clever move making this book form the viewpoint of the guy we all hated in book #i. Amazing how quickly we change to liking him. Book also benefits from being shorter (but still fairly long) so we don't start to get the feeling of approaching boredom like in book #1 Recommended
Quite a different take than the first book. I was not sure I would like this because of the point of view. It worked out well, I just needed to understand why Denis was the way he was. It is easy to say kill the ass, it takes a lot of work to understand him and see him as more. Thanks to the author for another good story. Getting ready to start Cast Iron, the next book. But need more soon I want to see how this war is going to go down!
I really like how each book is written from the focus of a different character. Even though it make the series slightly schizophrenic. In this book of the series I liked the choice of main focus being a not very likable character from the previous book. Once you hear his story you understand where he was coming from. His personal growth makes this story my favorite in the series.
This series is really well done. Having each book focus on one of the main characters adds a layer to the story line than keeps the reader fully engrossed, while at the same time watching the main plot line play out from a different perspective from book to book.
