Love, Lies, and Lust

Rate this book
Damon has done everything within his power to protect his family and keep his marriage in tact. However, some things are out of a man’s control and the life Damon has been working so hard to preserve is beginning to unravel before his eyes. When Damon’s greatest fear comes true he becomes a man on a mission and no one is safe from his wrath.

For Octavia, finding out her husband has been spinning lie after lie since they met is one thing but confessing her own transgressions is another. She refuses to allow her own sins to be her marriage’s downfall but can’t resist wondering if there are some things that shouldn’t be repaired. When Octavia is faced with what could be her greatest tragedy, she will put everything on the line, including her life to save those she loves.

Kelly had one hope and desire when he entered Damon and Octavia’s lives which was to claim the money he thought was his birth right. Now that he’s gotten to know the woman that Octavia is and everything she stands for, he can’t forget her nor can he shake the desire to finish what the two of them started. Kelly’s love of money is strong but he’s slowly discovering his lust and desire for Octavia are stronger. Loving Octavia was never in the plan but plans change and now Kelly must make a life altering decision.

Lena will forever think of Damon as the one who got away…the one whom would have made her life perfect. To her life is nothing without the right man to share it with and Damon is that man. Lena believes the best solution is to rid herself of any and all problems that prevent her from being with the man she loves. That problem just so happens to be Octavia.
When the lives of these four collide, love will be lost, lies will be exposed and lust will lead to death and destruction. All will be effected and life for those who survive will never be the same…

Even with the big gap in time from when I read the last book in the series, I didn't feel lost. The author does a good job of recapping without seeming to re-write the previous book into the next. This book had more death than I was prepared for, some shocking and sad ones. More secrets revealed, some still hidden and may never be uncovered. I'll definitely be continuing the series, love Damon and Octavia's story. Mz. Robinson does an amazing job of reeling me, making me feel like I know the characters personally and keeping me entertained from start to finish. On to the next!!

I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate it either. I really think though that this and The Lies We Tell for Love should have been 1 book, because this is just a continuation of it's predecessor. The first 2 books in the series What We Won't Do For Love and Married to His Lies could really stand on their own. The writing was good in this book, but there was just sooooooo much going on. The story was being told from so many different perspectives that at times I was wondering who was telling the story this time. We really didn't need to get almost every characters POV, it just wasn't necessary. A few other things just left me saying huh, particularly what happened to Savoy and Shontay. It just made no sense, happened too abruptly, and really added nothing to the story for me, just left me confused about why it happened. I enjoyed the first two books in the series, but the last two were just ok for me. I'd probably give this author another try because she is talented, but I am happy to see this series end.

Drama Overload

It’s always something when it comes to Damon and Octavia. It’s no different with part four of this series, “Love, Lies and Lust.” True to its title, the characters experience love, lies, and lust.

What worked for Mz. Robinson also worked against her – too much drama. There was simply too much going on with this installment. Life itself is full of drama before adding all the extras. And this book had plenty of extras. Also working against this book was the narrative. “Love, Lies and Lust” was told from the point of view of four constantly changing narrators. In the end, two more were added.

Mz. Robinson can certainly spin a tale and keep readers flipping the pages, but there needs to be a better balance of knowing when too much is too much.

Series: Booke #4 in The love, lies and lust Series

'I'd never been one to dwell on how or when i'll die. Why would I? I was too busy living. Trying to claim what was mine. I won't lie though my current situation has me rethinking a lot of things.'- Inner Monologue given by Mystery person in opening scene inLove, Lies, and Lust

Brief Summary
Just when Damon Whitmore thought his past would not come back to bite him in the ass... The lies and his enemies resurface. And unfortunately new plots are made against him and his family. Octavia is heartbroken when she finds out her husband has been keeping secrets. Now Damon must fight tooth and nail to keep his family intact. But what happens when murder, lust and all kinds of deception also disrupt his happy home. Everyone becomes a target and life as he knows it changes causing him to loose the ones that he loves.

Thoughts
I liked this book but i did not love it. Atleast not as much as its predecessor's. This book gives four POV's and honestly i could have dealt with out being in Lena's head. I would have been happier getting her side through Kelly's eyes. In my humble opinion Lena was just a "filler" as she took up space to make more storylines. Not that her part in the plot was not good she played the villan well but she was an airhead.
Anyway i did enjoy the ending and how everything came full circle taking you back to the foundation of book one. I found that clever Mz. Robinson;) The book gave lot's of twist and turns that i loved because you never saw some things coming until it was to late. Much like the characters. I would love love love to read a prequel with Damon Sr.... THAT should be interesting! Just thought i would throw that out into the universe;)

My Ratings
Characters- Likeable, well most of them.lol
Writing Style- Clever, Very Calculated and Suspenseful
Plot/Storyline- Good, I enjoyed it!
Overall- I liked it!

I really love this Author and definitely love reading her books! I just think this book was a little outdrawn the.story line was wayyyy drawn out in the beginning, as well as some other parts of the book. I found myself skipping pages to get to were the story might eventually pick up! All in all I still would definitely support and read books from this Author. But I'm definitely in agreement that this one should definitely be the last.

Good read

I enjoyed this book. It kept my interest piqued at all times. The expected became the unexpected. Saddened about the deaths of the couple. I won't use names because I don't want to give anything away for the readers. I love Ilene for being true to who she was!! Looking forward to the next book!!

Mz. Robinson wrapped up this series with some amazing twists, unveiling a lot of secrets while answering tons of questions. Full of Love, Lust and Lies, this series made you laugh, cry, happy and sad. I hated for the series to come to a close, but I know all good things must come to an end. Not only were Charles and Charlene ride or die for the family, but Damon Sr. and Ilene were also. Both couples had a common interest, THE FAMILY. I think the story ended just like it should have, with everything out in the open! SIMPLY AMAZING!!

Love, Lies, and Lust 4

Love, Lies, and Lust 4

This is a very good read. It was so many twists and turns, I couldn't stop reading, until I finished the book. Each one so far has been good. Shortly and Savoy were a beautiful couple. Nadia, Kelly, and Lena are all truly crazy. Ilene fooled the heck out of me. She is a beast and not to be taken lightly. Octavia and Damon are still my favorite power couple. Definitely recommended. On to Part Five.

Sigh where to stay, this book was beyond me I love ever aspect and suspense of the book. Was very hurt broken about Contessa, Savory and Shontay death. Lena (Alica), Nadia, Kelly got what they deserve wish it happened earlier. Mrs. Whitmore, I love her knows what she wants for her and her family and will make it happen.

Very good book. I was very sad about what happened to some of the characters. It had a lot of twist and turns and mystery. I wonder what can happen next. The Whitmore's have so many secrets so who knows.

The whole family dynamic is crazy! This book shows how family will stick together through the worst of times. There were definitely some shockers in this book. Love conquers all. What can I say. I'm just disappointed the series is over.

This book was good but not great. I guess what took away from this for me was all the death which was unnecessary to me especially savoy and shontay plus some parts just felt rushed. I was glad things worked out for octavia and damon.

There were way to many character POV being told. I could have done without being inside Kelly and Alena's crazy ass head. There were way too many deaths. I guess the series will continue on with many new faces. Sad to see my favorite couple exit.

Still a Fan

I did realize that Damon and Octavia's story continued. Thank goodness for my Kindle; now I can continue to catch up. Other than a few grammatical errors, the story was still well written. Now onto the next part...
