The first time the hero sees the heroine, she is at the hospital, she is a mess. She was thrown under a truck (literally) because someone was trying to kill her. The MC´s don´t stand each other, but he is there because a favor to his stepbrother. He sees her on the bed and:

So when he settled in her home to play bully, I mean, bodyguard, I ran off.

I liked the plot, I hated Caitlin. She was rude, obstinate, and perversely contrary. The villain was a bit too obvious for me, but that might just be because I'm very familiar with the author's work. I could see her misdirects a mile away. So I like everything except Caitlin's behavior, really. And that's not a good thing, with her being the main character and all. Wouldn't recommend this one. Nothing about it is unique enough to put up with Caitlin.

Another good read by SS. I did figure out who the bad guy was about 50% in but it still had a ton of twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

What an amazing story! Filled with so many twists and turns that keep you guessing all the way to the end. I hated for it to end. Loved every minute of the story!

Mystery Solved
You actually knew who the bad guy was from the beginning. I could just tell it was him. I thought maybe it was so obvious and I was wrong but it wasn't. I just have reach this before a long time ago but I definitely forgot it. The hero was very macho and possessive and he and the heroine had met each other before but hated each other. She is being stalked and his brother, her editor, asked him to watch over her and he did. I originally gave this four stars but now I would downgrade it to be there. The bad guy was easily recognizable from the start. He was the illegitimate child of the ... Oh I can't tell you that but just like who the prep was, you will figure that out too. There was a romance in the story, but it's more of a mystery/thriller. Love Sharon Sala no matter what she writes. This is probably not one of her best but it is good.

Caitlin is the poor little rich girl who write novels and suddenly starts to receive threatening notes and dead animals in the mail. Her amusingly funny gay editor send his half-brother to protect Caitlin. Mac is very likeable, strong and handsome and is drawn to Caitlin and they play cat and mouse for awhile until neither can deny the attraction. The plot was far from deep but there's a little twist at the end and it's an enjoyable read.

I can't give a fair rating since it took me forever to finish but I'm gonna go with my gut and say two stars. It was pretty predictable and pretty cheesy, though there were some good points.

I like the cover a lot, however, this is not a Christmas novel if that crossed your mind.
The book is interesting, I enjoyed the read, and read till 3am this morning. This is my second attempt to read the book, but my aim was to read it and cross off my tbr shelf and I did.
The story starts on gross crime taking place. The book is about a writer who writes as for her hobby, it isn't about the money, she could as well not write at all but simply life off her dad's money which was left to her after his death. But she prefers to write as there is nothing else she enjoys more and not like she has any other family and the "significant other" person or children. She lives alone, her publisher is her best friend and recently she is not feeling at ease anymore because of the threat letters she has been receiving for nearly a year and although she ignored them, those have never stopped and become more and more creepier. Then out of sudden she wakes up being taken care by people who say they are emergency room employees and suddenly she knows she was pushed on the traffic in daylight and her fears get real this is related to the letters.
I am not going to write the spoilers, how this develops any further, but it was interesting,
however, I choose to give 3 stars / 2.5 start because my analytical mind said since the very start when the crime started to take place, the characters didn't do enough as being in their roles would have been (police investigation's) (blame my previous read books in the genre), these actions suddenly are taken in consideration at the closure and this downsized my likeness/reality aspect of the book.

Sharon Sala has been my go to author for over a decade. Snowfall was phenomenal and reminds me why I continue to gravitate to Ms. Sala every-time, I need that one book to pull me in.
Caitlin and Mac are two opposites who truly are attracted to one another.
Even their stubbornness can’t keep them from falling in love.

She is rich and a famous author. Caitlyn Bennett has it all. But then the letters start coming and the threats. The bodies start showing up, mutilated also. So she needs protection and who else but her friends stepbrother, McKee. They are like oil and water together, but when Caitlyn realizes she has a stalker, he is a welcome addition to her safety.
This is a page turner and a great who dunnit.....never saw that one coming so the end will surprise you also. I have read other books by Sala and she doesnt disappoint. You must add this one to the Must Read pile. #KindleUnlimited #fourstars

She showed them to someone in the police department but he thought they were not a danger to her safety. Then one day while waiting for the light to change at the corner she felt someone put a hand in the small of her back and push her in front of a truck turning the corner.

I enjoyed it, even though it felt kind of dated. The heroine is constantly crying and fainting in a way that got a little silly. The relationship development was a little light too. Still, I am a sucker for bodyguard stories, and I liked the plot even if I did know who the villain was pretty early on. Not a terrible way to pass a few hours.

The plot was just ok but the Book was soaked with tears, men and women constantly "welling up" or sobbing or fainting. It read like the Harlequin Romance genre. Don't waste your time.

Another "hard to put down" book by Sharon Sala. She writes great books filled with suspense & some romance thrown in between the action.

One Star
I have read a couple of Sala's books recently (for the first time). I started with a particular three book series that kept my interest. Afterwards, I decided to check some of her other books out. I have struggled with them. I think I am done.
This one was originally written in the early 2000's. I agree with all the other reviewers who rated it similarly. I do not have much to add. The only thing I can add has to do with the villain. I won't give a revealing spoiler but once you find out who he is--there was one blatant inconsistency. Also, something major was revealed about the heroine in the end (last chapter I believe) and she had no reaction really to it except a one sentence blurb.

Intimacy: Not clean. There was some lusting. And there was I think two sex scenes. I skip over stuff like this so can't say how detailed it got.
Violence: The villain killings were described.
Language: Yes, there was some strong language/cursing. Light range.

Dieses Buch wurde mir von Netgalley DE und be-ebooks zur Rezension zur Verfügung gestellt und dafür bedanke ich mich herzlichst.
Die Handlung des Buches ist spannend, aber längst nicht so sehr, als dass man einen erhöhten Puls beim Lesen bekommt. Manch einer würde sagen, dass man den Täter von Beginn an vielleicht sogar erahnen kann. Daher hätte ich mir vielleicht einen etwas stärkeren Spannungsbogen gewünscht. Andererseits ist der Lesespaß gegeben durch einen guten Stil des Schreibens und eine leichte Lesbarkeit. Eine Romanze kommt natürlich auch vor, in welcher aus anfänglicher Abneigung Liebe erwächst. Dies geschieht langsam und das finde ich gut.
Fazit:
Dieses Buch ist es wert gelesen zu werden, aber ich hätte mir etwas mehr Nervenkitzel gewünscht. Die Charaktere sind gut gelungen und man kann sich mit ihnen identifizieren.

3.25 Stars. This is my first book by this author and for me something was missing. Though, I will say the last few chapters were shocking and suspenseful. I was wrong from the beginning on the identity of the serial killer. I like when a book catches me off guard. This one certainly did.
The author went into great details on the murders and yet gave none on the sexy scenes. I honestly had to skip pages, as the gross details of the victims were more than I could take.
The something missing was the chemistry between Mac and Caitlin. It was like the close proximity due to their circumstances brought them together. I was missing the attraction and love between the couple. The first time they have sex is because she needed to be comforted, not because of any lustful feelings. She even asked him to sleep with her, like she was asking for a favor from him. I give this book high marks on the suspense, while low ones on the romance.

August 7, 2020Snowfall was my first Sharon Sala novel. I have seen her books around for a while, but just now picked one up. I really only read romance as a general rule, but I love intrigue, police/FBI stories, and people solving crimes. Ms. Sala wrote a well written, well thought out romantic crime story. Story was a little predictable, but I'm ok with that. I actually don't like it when the bad guy is the one person you never would have suspected, because then the writer perhaps didn't give you the clues you needed to solve it. I would have liked a little more depth to romance, but that is a personal preference. The characters were likable and believable. And the author also used swearing only sporadically, as opposed to every other word, as I see happening more and more with romantic suspense. I will read her again.

The perfect story for a wet chilly morning.
I feel like it’s a bit of a gamble when I pick up old (20+yrs) romance, or romance adjacent, books. How badly have they aged?…how dated will they feel? Thankfully this book was very engaging, and the dated technology and character stereotypes were mild in comparison to a lot of books I’ve reread from the late 90s-early 2000s. I enjoyed the premise, found the main characters quite engaging and easy to empathise with, and when it got down to the nitty gritty of it all, the twist was well implemented (and I wasn’t suspicious of this character until just before the reveal), so in all, a highly enjoyable book that I might just purchase after reading this via KU.

When Caitlin Bennett is pushed in front of a moving truck and lives. She believes the letters threatening her that have been sent to her house are real. Her best friend and publisher calls his brother to come guard her until the wacko is caught. She is an author and spends a lot of time alone.
Then young girls bodies are found murdered and mutilated which brings the police into the investigation.
Caitlin and Mac have never really gotten along but spending all their time together brings their true feelings out.
I really enjoyed this story and will looking for more by a good author.

Love me some Sharon Sala
Every time I finish a Sharon Sala book, I think it's the best, that she can't top the one I just finished. But I don't give up that not of finding one I haven't read. Purchased this one, Snowfall, from Amazon and got sidetracked and didn't read it right away. I was checking my Kindle for a book and realized I hadn't read Snowfall. I started it this morning and between household chores I started reading. And like all of Ms. Sala's books I believe it was the best. I can't wait til I can find her next book so it will become my favorite.

The tension ratchets up as New York City is caught in a blizzard of snow. An unknown stalker threatens the life of romance writer Caitlan. When she's pushed in front of a truck the stakes get higher and her publisher calls in his stepbrother to act a bodyguard for her. The characters are well drawn, the action drawing the reader into the story. Every clue is misleading and revealing. The who and why are the twist that is so unexpected. Well done, logical, and a prime example of romantic suspense.

Another good book from Sharon Sala. This one should have gotten 3.5 stars.
A writer is threatened by an unknown creep who appear to know everything about her.
Her assistant, a lovable, interfering man who loves her and wants to match her up with his half brother, who is, according to her, a cave man, comes running when he is told that she's in danger.
Snow keeps falling, as the two of them fall for each other.

Easily a Ten
Sharon Sala is a great storyteller! I love everything I have read that I have seen so far.
Her books always have the essence of greatness in them. I have definitely enjoyed reading each and every one of them.
Ms. Sala is absolutely amazing in how her characters come to life. Each one of them is true to life, and so very likeable, (except,of course, for the bad guys).
Sharon Sala is a great storyteller! I love everything I have read that I have seen so far.

As good as Blessings GA
I’ve read all of the Blessings stories. Several times. While an entirely different setting, this storyline still had the same ability to keep me up far too late at night, simply because I couldn’t put it down. Ms Sala certainly knows how to keep her readers hooked. And at this point in my life, her stories are almost as good as a warm hug. Terrific easy and entertaining read.
I’ve read all of the Blessings stories. Several times. While an entirely different setting, this storyline still had the same ability to keep me up far too late at night, simply because I couldn’t put it down. Ms Sala certainly knows how to keep her readers hooked. And at this point in my life, her stories are almost as good as a warm hug. Terrific easy and entertaining read.
