the inside of adult industry - mainly in US
seeing from inside the industry is well just like any other industry - do not read this unless you have curiosity and no other better books to read

In the 'Foreplay' to the text, porn star Annabel Chong says this to her fellow Singaporean, the author, Gerrie Lin:

“Porn stars have issues like Kleenex has tissues.”

She would know. Annabel started one of the strangest crazes in sexual sport history: a world-record gang-bang with 251 partners. This rapidly escalated beyond any semblance of sanity to a two-day marathon of 2,000 partners by a British woman called Sabrina Johnson. Shortly thereafter, she wishes she had never done it. Or won it.

As the author points out, porn brings paradox. People hide behind their personal lives behind their extroverted sexual activities. Gerrie Lim was skillful at finding the 'issues' that Annabel Chong mentioned, gaining the trust of a lot of different stars.
Asia Carrera, one of the top porn stars in the world at the time, handed him her diaries, for example. Thus we learn that the woman with an IQ of 156, a piano prodigy, and all-round overachiever, went into porn because her parents didn't show her love. She wasn't alone.
We find the wildly uninhibited actress Belladonna was a Mormon bishop's daughter.
Gerrie Lim, did a good job at finding the 'issues' while maintaining a light, almost flippant tone through the book. He found a killer line for summarizing the industry by Julianne Moore:
“The thing I learned,” she said, “was that it’s positional, not emotional.”

An interesting glimpse into an industry few understand.

Mr. Kim reported on the poem industry for many years. His memoir provides interesting insight into an industry that few understand, but many know about to some degree.

I'd rather read Famous magazine.
