Raven's story was great. It broke my heart to know more about what happened to her and how she managed to get through it. Ooh, I loved this kick-ass heroine! I loved her confidence, her cleverness, her strength, and her sassiness. I loved how she handled things, difficult people, or even the troubling/crisis situations, and I was like--"You go, girl! Kick their asses!"

Overall, an enjoyable page-turning read.

Steel Caress, the second book of the Tiger Sword Trilogy, is a re-read of a paperback in my personal collection. The plot behind the book is outlandish, but the author makes it work with smart dialog and strong, varied characters. Left for dead at the conclusion of a mission gone bad, Raven (Major Ravenowitz) reinvents herself. Literally. AWOL from the military because feels she was set-up and she doesn't return, she creates a new persona and continues to fight corruption. Lots of constant action and layered subplots.
