I just... I can’t! I tried, I really did.
I LOVED the "Cat Star Chronicles”. This is the main reason WHY I stayed for the ride even after reading “Stud” in all its gory relationship conflicts and ghastly sperm (or snard, if you will) related back stories.

I think that part of the attraction when it comes to the Cat Chronicles was the fact that these big kitty-cats were pretty monogamous and very very rare, thus they turned in to HUGE puddles of goo when in love, and…well, when their mates got pregnant and SAVED THE SPECIES! Whooot! Whooot!
This dimension is clearly GONE, when the hero is/was a stud prostitute that spread his semen in order to make (a gazillion) more little Zetithians.

(And PLEASE, I do NOT even want to go in to the utter futility of only THREE male Zetithians procreating en masse. That just makes one HECK OF A LOT OF little kittens with THE SAME DNA. NOT A GOOD BREADING GROUND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS! But what the heck, right?)

Anyhow, there was a (somewhat boring) plot in this book. There were even some ex loves, and jealousy thrown in just for good measure. And a psychotic killer! Yay, oh yay.

(yawn!)

And yet…
...my mind always came back to the fact that my hero impregnated and/or fuc*ed half of the galaxy.
When Tarq from “Stud” was mentioned in the most bizarre sentence where we, the readers, are told how his FREAKING MATE (AKA WIFE AKA PARTNER) IS SO PROUD OF HIM FOR GETTING EVERYBODY AND THEIR GRANDMOTHER PREGNANT, I thought I was going to hurl.
Species perseverance aside, there is just no way a woman in ANY GIVEN UNIVERSE is happy about her partner having swarms of children with different mothers.

Eh…sorry, what was this book about again?
I forgot.

In the end it's not that I am giving up on these series because I just read the 9th (freaking!) book. It isn’t about the length of the series. It’s about prostitutes.

(There, I said it!)

Even some of the characters are baffled at how Zetetians could be so promiscuous. Well, I am right in their boat. I was used to one type of sexy, mouthwatering heroes in the earlier books, and this sperm-fest is just not cutting it for me.
Sad, but true.

I am guessing that people that like “reformed prostitute/stud” books will like this read (and the one before), as much as they would have been bored with the first 7 novels. But eh, to each their own.

This was just not my cup of tea.

The Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks has been one of my favorite "out-of-this-world" series. The sexual heat totally burns up the pages in these romances with some of the most explicit sexual scenes I've yet to read. The author's imagination soars to realms that left me spell bound. With all of the dedicated reading that I've done within the romance genre in general and the many sub-genres, I have yet to come across heroes of the caliber Ms. Brooks describes. "WildCat" continues the wild ride bestowed by this unique author.

Jerden, while not exactly a hero I would describe as "alpha-male," is by no means lacking in any of the typical characteristics that make a hero deathly handsome and dangerous. He has it all and then some. He's beautiful to the extreme not only physically, but emotionally as well. This is what I have determined makes the difference between most of the alpha-male heroes that I have read about and Jerden. While they all are dangerously good-looking and strong, they very often are not the most emotionally stable or emotionally sensitive beings. Well, prepare yourself because at last appears a hero who has the strength to survive and labor through his own emotional turmoil, while being the most perfect of companions in all ways for the opposite sex, especially to his mate. Plus for icing on the cake, his sexual prowess and skills are incomparable. His knowledge and use of his body like none other. I will stop there and say read this series because your imagination just won't do it justice.

Can it get any better? Well, move over hero-extraordinaire because the heroine just adds an extra layer of sweetness. Sara Shield is just your typical human. Nothing real special, and this is exactly what makes her SO special to me. She is just ordinary in the looks department with no voluptuous traits to admire or long silky tresses to dream about. She is even damaged goods in the emotionality department. There is really no power to her character either physically or mentally. She has never been able to attract the opposite sex, and in fact, has been the butt of their cruel humor for most of her life. Yet, this wonderful hero has an attraction to her that no one can really understand, especially Sara herself. After all, he is perfection personified and can have, and has had, any female he desires. So, why Sara? You'll need to read to find out! Let me just end by stating there has rarely been a heroine that I can relate to so closely, and that makes reading this romance that much sweeter.

My only criticism of the book is that it took soooo long to get to any of the heated scenes between the hero and heroine. I believe I was over halfway through the book before the ultimate, very hot, physical relations took place between Jerden and Sara. That got a little frustrating. A super 5-star rating! Again! Since it has been awhile since I've read any books in this series, this read has inspired me to want to go back and reread them again.

Returning to the delicious joy giving Zetithian males, Jerden is the latest main character in this series. Jerden is a troubled male who worked in a brothel yet can't get his dick up anymore. A brutal murder of his "fluffer" turned him of sex work for a long time. Resting in Terra Minor, Jerden's friends hopes he will come out of his depression.

Sara Shields is a frontier woman who loves horses. Ms. Brooks does a great job detailing horses and making this quite authentic. It's clear, Ms. Brooks knows horses and she writes a Sara as a definite horse fanatic. Sara prefers horses to men due to her one bad experience.

Most people experience something bad in their life. Some are survivors who move on. It is sad that both Jerden and Sara are not survivors. Instead, they are victims paralyzed by a single event. Jerden's lost of his home planet and his family did not seem to impact him as much as the death of his fluffer. This I found rather odd, especially since Jerden did not even love his fluffer. Still, who knows what will make a person lose it?

The interaction between Sara and Jerden is amusing. Their initial awkwardness is cute. Their love of animals helps them bond and become a bit more familiar. Their quick change from indifference to passionate lovers was a bit odd for me too. Still, Jerden is sex on a stick and voted best lover three years in a row. How can any woman resist him? Plus he freely gives the very addictive and mind blowing snard.

This story is a smooth and sweet read. It's easy to read in one sitting with no big surprises. The cameos from previous characters is a lovely little tie in. This erotic romance novel is recommend for romance lovers who enjoy a feel good happily ever after.

I loved both of the main characters in Wildcat. Sara Shield is so independent and does not think she needs a man, especially one like Jerden. Jerden, on the other hand, is thought to be dangerous and a little insane. Living like a hermit he does not think he will ever respond to any woman again. When Sara shows no reaction to him as a man it really catches his attention The more they are together the bigger their attraction to each other grown.

This is a good story line. The opening scene with Jerden riding Sara’s missing stallion, Danuban, bareback and nude is priceless. The addition of the black leopard running at Jerden’s side makes it perfect. The way Sara just ignores the lack of dress and the leopard gives a good insight into her character. I just knew with that beginning that I was going to love the story.

Nathan Wolmack makes a good bad guy. It takes awhile to find out what he wants from Sara but I knew from the beginning he was up to no good.

Most of the characters from the previous books make an appearance in Wildcat. It was great to see Jack and Cat again. I loved how the beginning of the first book was worked into the story. It was great to also see all the rest of them again. I think I saw the star of the next book. Look and see if you agree that there is a new main character making an appearance.

On a recent trip to another blog there was a question about what male character I would like to see come to life. My Answer: Any one of the Zethithian’s in Cheryl’s books but preferably one I could call my own.

Wildcat is another book that will not be released until February of 2013. Put Wildcat on your wish list or go ahead and pre-order. I received Wildcat as an ARC from Netgalley.

Sara Shield has taken charge of her life. She’s moved to Terra Minor, a relatively safe planet, where she runs her horse training and breeding service. When one of the prized stallions that she owns escapes, she has no choice but to head over to the neighboring property owned by Jerden Morokovitz to try and retrieve him. When she arrives at Jerden’s place, Sarah is totally unprepared for the sight of Jerden, riding her beautiful stallion, Danuban, naked. They are both stunning and she can hardly take her eyes off of them, but Sara is there for her horse alone, not the man.

Jerden is a Zetithian who moved to Terra Minor after the death of his lover. Feeling guilty about why she was killed, he lives alone, avoiding everyone taking comfort in his animals and the beautiful leopard that follows him around. When the beautiful, black, Stallion shows up they seemed to have some sort of connection and Jerden finds a freedom he hadn’t felt since his lover’s death when he rides him. He knows the horse is too beautiful to be a stray and must belong to the woman on the neighboring property. He also knows he’ll have to return the horse one day. When he arrives home and sees Sara standing there, he knows that day is today.

Wildcat is book nine in a series that has become a total guilty pleasure for me. This world feeds and satisfies not only my love of paranormal but also my love of science fiction as we follow the lives of a species of men called Zetithians. These gorgeous men, with feline grace and features were known the world over for their sexual prowess. So much so, that a man who lost his wife after she’d been with a Zetithian took it upon himself to destroy the planet Zetith in the hopes of ridding the world of this race. But a handful of men and an even smaller amount of women survived and this series chronicles their lives as they make their way through the galaxies looking for love.

I was very excited to learn that Ms. Brooks would be featuring Jerden in his own book after meeting him in book 7, Virgin. He was a standout secondary character there and I wanted to see more of him. But I struggled with the Jerden that we meet at the beginning of Wildcat. This Jerden is depressed following the death of his lover, a death he feels responsible for. So, he lives alone, except for his animals, not really associating with anyone except when he has to. When the stallion, Danuban, shows up on his property they have any easy connection and Jerden feels better just for being able to ride him. But it’s not long before Sara, the horse’s owner, shows up to claim him. Their initial meeting does not go well at all, and Sara is forced to leave without her horse.

While I struggled with Jerden, I really enjoyed Sara’s character. Sara had been an accomplished equestrian back on earth. She moved to Terra Minor to get away and heal after a tragic event and her plans do not include getting involved with a man. While she isn’t blind and can certainly appreciate the beautiful man Jerden is, she has issues she’s dealing with where men are concerned and she knows that she’s not exactly the kind of woman he would be attracted to anyway. When Jerden rides up to her farm and literally collapses on her porch, she takes care of him and they begin a somewhat uneasy friendship.

Once this ‘friendship’ begins we start to see some of the old Jerden come back to life. He is attracted to Sara and she touches a place within him that was long dead. He also feels protective of her, especially when Sara’s other neighbor, Nathan, starts sniffing around and Jerden’s protective instincts come into play. Sara is not interested in Nathan at all, but he is persistent to the point of making Sara uncomfortable.

After Sara and Jerden form their alliance against Nathan, the story takes on a bit of a mysterious quality when some unexplained things start to happen. While navigating their friendship and their budding attraction to each other, both Sara and Jerden are able to heal from their pasts as the bond grows between them.

We don’t always get to see previous characters, but I was thrilled that was not the case in this book. We are gifted with updates and visits from almost all the previous characters and couples in this series to date. It almost had an ‘end of series’ feel to it, but I know for a fact that there are more books to come.

I have followed this series from its first release, Slave, back in 2008 and it has really evolved over the last 5 years. Ms. Brook’s writing has grown and her imagination gives us so many unique characters I’m always excited to see what she’s come up with in each book. If you’re a fan of science fiction with a huge dose of sexy men, I’d give this series a shot!

I really enjoyed this. I especially identified with the heroine. She was raped when she was younger and so keeps away from men. After the initial misunderstandings though, Jerden figures it out.

Jerden makes Sara feel safe and protected and slowly their relationship develops into a romantic one.

I was a bit shocked at how sudden the first kiss happened. I think this was my only problem. Another man tries to kiss Sara and she faints and then the next day Jerden vaults off the horse and grabs Sara and kisses her....

Slightly unrealistic development in the physical side of the relationship...

Besides that I think this book could be the best of the series. No lagging and the intimacy scenes were much more enjoyable and tasteful.

For anyone unfamiliar with Cheryl Brook's Cat Star Chronicles my advise to you would be to go buy the first 8 and read them between now an February 5th. Each book is a stand alone story and it can be read as such however you will miss some of the subtext of the world and be less likely to understand the secondary characters.

With the murder of his lover and fluffer from the Zetithian Palace brothel, Jerden escapes to the relative quiet of Terra Minor where he has purchased a ranch to isolate himself. Our first glimpse (and Sara's as well) of Jerden is returning a run away stallion to Sara's ranch where she is a horse breeder and trainer. What makes this memorable (for me as well as Sara) is that Jerden is stark naked when he comes riding in. Drool :OP

Sara has moved from Earth to start her horse business on Terra Minor specifically to avoid men as much as she can. She has to brush off the occasional advance from fellow rancher Nathan Wolmack but nothing she can't handle. Sara is immediately in awe of Jerden but that doesn't change her desire to not have men in her life.

Jerden is not sure how to take Sara he is used to having women throwing them selves at him, while he moved to get away from that Jerden is not sure why Sara never smells of desire but he is drawn to her none the less. Zetithian males are aroused as much by the smell of their partners arousal as their own, and this as well as having some performance issues caused by guilt over his lovers murder by a crazed woman stalker is a situation Jerden has never experienced.

With the main threat to the Zetithian race removed in Stud (book #8) the conflict and life or death struggle in this book comes from a little closer to home. As Sara and Jerden spend more time together they are more and more attracted. We are also treated to most of the characters from past books making brief cameo's in this book, I love hearing how many litters they have had. Wildcat seemed to have less sex than some of the previous books in the series but I think the sexual tension and the sex that was included were smoking hot.

If you like you sci-fi with an erotic edge then you will love this series and this is another fantastic book in an already great series.
I received my ARC copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Cheryl Brooks newest offering to the wonderful world of the Cat Star Chronicles is Wildcat. Take a journey to mystical worlds featuring unusual terrain and even more colorful inhabitants. Sara Shield is tired of her life on Earth, and decides a new planet might be her ticket to new possibilities.

Sara is well aware she’s considered attractive. A cruel episode brought this home to her when she was much younger. The safest way to deal with the pain is to close that part of her life off forever. Sara decides to pursue her duo loves of horse breeding and roses on her new home planet, Terra Minor. The prize stallion she ordered for her stud program is missing. She believes it may have wandered to her enigmatic neighbor’s property.

Jerden retires after a jealous customer kills his close friend. If his skills as a lover caused such reaction, then maybe he needs to get out of the woman pleasing business. He retreats to the less popular planet of Terra Minor, to a tract of land as untamed as he is. His wraps his guilt around him, forsaking human contact. A beautiful stallion appears on his land forging a connection with him and giving him reason to live again. The stallion’s intriguing owner shows up demanding he return the horse awaking in him to desire to live again.

Add into the mix, a competitor who doesn’t want Sara to have her prized stallion to improve her stock. Sara also fights the attentions of her neighbor, who she neither encourages nor likes. It all seems a bit suspicious to her, troublesome too, since she finds herself drawn to her mysterious neighbor creating an uncomfortable love triangle.

Wildcat creates a world similar to Earth on Terra Minor with a few exceptions as far as animals and plant species. Terra Minor is the host for many different refugees making the planet a delightful mix of suspense, romance and even humor. The relationship between Sara Shield and Jergen is probably the best in the Cat Star series so far. That is saying a great deal since there have been many sizzling pairings in previous Cat Star books.

Wildcat is Ms. Brooks best book to date. If you are looking for a sensual romance with a touch of the exotic, plus a walk on the wild side, then Wildcat is your book.

When Sara Shield sees the wild Zetithian hermit riding across the meadow on her stallion with a black leopard beside them, she's stunned. Not just because the man is astride the horse without benefit of saddle or bridle and not because he is gloriously naked. She's stunned because the leopard, the horse and the Zetithian form an incomparable image of Nature at her finest.

She wasn't the kind of woman who normally would swoon at a man's good looks and she wasn't starting now. All she wanted was her stallion. And she tells Jerden as much.

Jerden's first thoughts on seeing Sara standing outside his cabin are less than charitable. He thinks she's another one of those women who lust after him because he's Zetithian and one of the great lovers of his race. He ignores her greeting, her outstretched hand and walks past her just telling her to take her horse if she wants him.

And that's the start of Wildcat by Cheryl Brooks. No immediate 'knowing' that this is the mate of their dreams. No instant lust or yearning desire. No, this book starts with two wounded people who are more or less content to live their lives in the little cocoons they've made for themselves.

But, of course, that's not going to happen. Meeting Sara is the impetus for the illness plaguing Jerden to come to a head. He suffers from nightmares so real he can hardly distinguish them from reality. He sees again the murder of his lover, the murder that sent him to this lonely spot. Finally, he practically falls atop the stallion and in his delirium, the stallion takes him to the one place where he can get help - Sara's ranch.

You can read the rest of the review here http://star-crossedromance.blogspot.c...

Wildcat is a tender yet deeply passionate love story with earthy humor and a touch of mystery. It's a compelling story of two wounded souls who need each other and whose coming together heals them both. Brilliantly written by a talented author, I highly recommend this one.

Wildcat is my favorite of Cheryl Brooks' Cat Star Chronicles series. I love the world, the backstory and the inventive, unique characteristics she created for them all. I enjoy the ways that characters from the previous books weave meaningfully into the latter storylines. I read all the books last year but scenes from Wildcat still replay in my mind so I decided to write a review.

I found the connection between Sara and Jerden to be more complex, more intriguing, more primal, and ultimately more satisfying than all the other couples in the series. Since I loved them all, that's a considerable accolade. These two are slightly more mature, more set in their ways, but in the way that a certain "peace within" accompanies age, their connection is also far less inhibited, much to my delight. The dedication of Jerden's unconventional entourage and the way Sara respects their claim to him adds an unexpected dimension of affection and warmth to the story. The intensely erotic and emotional scene that takes place in an unexpected location outside the bedroom around Location 3972 has set a new, very high bar for paranormal romance literature.

There are a precious few authors who meticulously build worlds and races and then send them off with such delightful abandon to the edges of the galaxy infused with ingenious erotic imaginings. Thank you, Cheryl Brooks! I hope everyone enjoys Wildcat and the other Cat Star Chronicles Series books as much as I did!

***Review of Cheryl Brooks’ Wildcat (Cat Star Chronicles #9)***
I received a publisher copy in exchange for an honest review of Wildcat which came out on 2/05/2013.
This series is not stand alone as many of the characters from previous books play a role in this one and much of what is plaguing Jereden is told in a previous story.
In Wildcat - Sara Shield is looking to escape men and live life under her own terms and meeting up with Zetithian Jerden Morokovitz is the last thing she wants – Jerden is trying to escape his ghosts and just wants to stay away from everyone. A wayward stallion and a menagerie of animals following Jereden everywhere have different ideas for both of them.
The Cat Star Chronicles are usually fun and rather tongue in cheek SciFi Fantasy, Erotic Romance romps -and this one is no different although this book does start a bit slower than the others and I found that it took a bit of patience in the beginning as both main characters did keep getting stuck in their heads quite a bit in the first couple of chapters. This one was a sweet story and I did enjoy how it all came together and the world building that Cheryl Brooks keeps enhancing in each book. Yes – there is plenty of spice and “Joy unlike you have ever known” in this book and is a bit of a Cheryl Brooks trademark in her depictions of these hunky Zetithian characters and their (ahem) creative(titillating) anatomy!
Using the Amazon scale I would rate it as a 4 (Liked it) and the Goodreads scale 4 of (Really liked it)

The book description leaves out quite a bit. Sara is neighbors with Bonnie and Lynx from book 4 of the Cat Star Chronicles series, Outcast. They are in the book quite a bit and anyone who knows me knows that I love updates on previous characters. I figure it's about 20 years since the first book since Jack and Cat have teenage children. Yes, there's a few parts with them in the book as well as some other books. I was very pleased.

But enough about previous characters! This book is about Sara and Jerden. Sara has sworn off men due to a rape when she was young and has no interest in any mans advances even Jerden. Jerden is suffering from the brutal murder of a co-worker at the brothel he worked at before becoming Sara's neighbor. He has secluded himself because he sees either the face of the girl or her murderer in every woman... until Sara.

As with all of the Cat Star Chronicle books there are some lengthy sex scenes. I have to confess to skipping ahead a few times. One of the things I enjoyed in this book were how wild animals would follow Jerden around. Including Sara's lost horse. That horse was a matchmaker I swear! I also enjoyed the back and forth between Sara and her employees. Some of it had me laughing so hard.

All in all a great addition to the Cat Star Chronicles series. If you aren't familiar with the series it is very good and I would strongly suggest starting with book 1 Slave. There is a lot that is discussed that someone jumping into the series would be confused about. Trust me, the books are worth the read.

This book was a very different read for me. I tend to read a lot of paranormal and admit that I thought this was a shifter book when I chose to read it. It was not and believe it or not I am glad. This book was so very different and had such an intriguing world that I was immediately sucked in. The characters were diverse and all of them had something about them that made them memorable no matter how small a role they played and that is not something that I often see. I also really enjoyed how a few of the animals played major roles. No they were not talking animals or anything like that, but their personalities really shined through and drove the story forward.

Ok, on to what people really want to know. The romance was super hot, yet sweet and you felt like the characters actually cared about each other in a genuine way. You also got to see the two main characters, who were both very broken, begin to heal as they learned to trust each other and no longer let the horrors of their pasts control them. Was it an easy journey? Not at all, which made the ending all the better.

I was so beyond late for this party that I did not even know this series existed. I tell you this because I did not at any point in this book feel like I was missing key information and that I was missing out by not having read previous books. In fact I was shocked to see how many Cat Chronicles are out there. That being said, I am so going to scoop the other books up as soon as I can because I really enjoyed this book.

More of a 3.76 but close enough.

Ok, some thoughts.

1 - While the h's reaction to contact w/males was fairly realistic, the about face after just a few days in the H's company wasn't. Even a Zetithian's joy juice isn't going to overcome conditioned response that ingrained. That this is a common issue with romances featuring rape victim heroines only slightly clouds the issue.

2 - After she passed the rival's fields and noted their neglect, why didn't she wonder about him a bit more?

3 - I disliked the h's giving so much thought to the H's fortune. It made her seem more like a gold digger and less like a heroine.

4 - I'd believe the cabbage rose would still be available 500 years from now - it's already been around a century or two, but Don Juan and Joseph's Coat? Em...yeah.

5 - The horses were interesting but I always raise an eyebrow at breeders who "branch out". Also, no mention was ever made as to what breed the rival had. We're left to assume he raised andalusians. Further, if he were having financial difficulty, maybe the h's choice of employment was not a good one. And maybe she should have, since this was a farming community, had Percherons or something.

Lot of nitpicky logical stuff.

The sex was...about what one would expect from a Zetithian former rent boy and his h. At least with these guys, when they find The One, there's no possibility whatsoever of them straying. Heh; two of the three owners of the Zetithian house of ill repute have retired and found love. The other does not want to. Here's hoping he falls...hard.

3.5 stars.
Overall I enjoyed the story. The male Zentithian, Jerden formerly of the Pleasure Palace, has moved to Terra Minor to hide and recover mentally after his "fluffy' Audrey was killed by a jealous female wanting her job.
Sara is a human who avoids men due to being physically abused and raped by a man back on Earth years prior.
So that sets up the basic story. Guys avoiding everyone and girl who avoids men. They are brought together by a runaway horse and strike an mutually beneficial agreement to get certain peoples attention off of them.

I did enjoy watching Jerden and Sara grow closer and her trust in him slowly building. However, I didn't like the fact that when they finally come together she seems to fully heal from her ordeal automatically. It's like that magic Zentithain C*ck skills not only gives "joy unlike any other" but hell years of dealing with trauma suddenly gone with great sex. I give the author props for taking on a character with rape trauma but...

Other than that, in my opinion, I'd rather read about the other 100 or so Zentithans that were on the rescue ship rather than ex-pleasure palace ones. I'm all for everyone needs some love but these guys have spread their seeds far and wide already. I want to get back to the basic stories of falling in love and promoting the Zenithian races like in the previous books.

Ok rant over that's my take. Recommend if you've read the previous Books in series if not I'd start with the first couple to fully enjoy the tale.

The ninth in Brooks’ Cat Star Chronicles is pure alien/human romance. The slow burn between horse breeder Sara and former brothel star Jerden is delicious, and when they finally realize they may need each other to heal, the consummation of their relationship is scorching hot. An added delight is the mystery of who wants to harm Sara’s prize stallion. All combined, they add up to a book that keeps you turning pages in a series that’s far from going stale.

Sara Shield settles on the frontier planet of Terra Minor to escape her past and start her horse-breeding ranch. Meeting Zetithian Jerden Morokovitz is not in her plans, and yet here he is. But Jerden is broken: The murder of his former lover left him nearly insane from grief. When he finds himself inexplicably attracted to Sara, he vows to heal her like she has healed him. Unfortunately, more than one person would like to see them kept apart.

Nice addition to this series which is a guilty pleasure for me. Come on the whole orgasmic snard thing is pretty goofy but hey I'm used to it. I've bought it this far so I'll keep on buying it. And it is a pleasant little sci fi world with interesting diverse aliens and a pretty good backstory. Still the gist of this story is not really that. The author does a pretty good job of bringing to life two damaged people. Can a man who was a prostitute learn to settle with just one woman? Can he get over having a woman he cared for killed because of him? I can totally forgive him for the prostitution since they were primarily concerned with recreating his race. The heroine is damaged too being someone who boys/men never liked so she had a love sense of self esteem.

The author did some great research on horses and dressage or else she is a horse person. I appreciate that she got the details right and that her heroine thought the horse's odd behavior was odd.

Enjoyed it.

This is the first book in the Cat Star Chronicles that I have read, and it is definitely a stand alone novel. I never felt lost or left out because the book focused solely on the lead character’s who were new to each other. The sex scene’s were definitely a hot read, and while the emotional turmoil was great to read, there was a lack of adventure as well as outside conflict. Conflict created by other chraracter’s did appear, but it was at the very end of the book. I wish the book had been a bit more of a swashbuckling adventure.

It seems that earlier stories in the series were more drama filled, so I will be going back to check those out. I will also be sticking with this series. I liked the style of writing and the world created for the character’s. I look forward to more stories from Ms. Brooks.

Cheryl did it again. Another fabulous book in the Cat Star Chronicles series.
This book is a real page turner, I had trouble putting it down even to sleep.
I highly recommend it to all who are looking for a Great book..

Jerden- Zetithian male
Sara - Human female
Danuban- the horse that brought them together.

Jerdens retreat into isolation after tragic events sent him running to Terra Minor, was only broken by the collection of animals drawn to him during his time of hurt wandering.

Dunuban, Saras stallion found him and joined his collection.

Sara came to collect her stallion, what she found was a recluse who wanted nothing from anyone much less a female. Sara was under no illusions that her looks would attract any man, much less one who looked like him, he was stunning to behold. She came for her horse, but in the end ended up with so much more.

I have loved the 'Star Cat Chronicles' since the very first book and this one just added to my enjoyment. The heroes are heroic, sexy and monogamous when they meet their heroines. The Heroines are usually fairly normal humans (one or two are human/other) who have that something extra that attracts those Heroes (and I'm not talking model type good looks). In fact most of the time it is a typical 'boy meets girl and they fall in love' book but somehow Ms Brooks is able to imbue her books with a spicy sexy story with action and intrigue that keeps the reader hooked. In this one there was the added attraction of horses and a 'pet' leopard and an interesting back story that helped move the whole thing along.

Another fine example of Sci-Fi that appeals to me: a lover of contemporary & historical romance. Who knew? I have read every one of Cheryl's Cat Star Chronicles books and from the first was astounded. The race she built (catmen) are the sexiest, hunkiest males in the galaxy, and following these hunks from exiled loners to family men is always a blast! They can be read individually (I never read them in order as I did not discover her until Book #3) but she gives just enough backstory to allow the reader to understand the universal horror they have encountered. Keep them coming (ha. ha) Yes, they are explicity sexy reads, but it works!

I won this book from Goodreads First reads. This is the first book I have read by this author. The blurb in the giveaway caught my attention and so I entered. I did like this story it was a little different with the different kinds of species of characters in it. I didn't get with the book description in the giveaway how explicit it would be with sex. I don't really mind this kind of book but I got to say the alien sex was a bit much for me. Overall though I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

This is the ninth book in the series and is another good addition to the SciFi/Erotica series. This story although a little light and predictable was sweet and easy to read. I also enjoyed seeing characters from previous books. Wildcat is not my favorite in the series but still enjoyable. I feel 3.5 stars is a more accurate rating but because that is not an option here and overall the Cat Star Chronicles is a series I really enjoy I'm going with 4 stars.

I won my ARC of Wildcat on a GoodReads giveaway.

I have read the rest of the Cat Star Chronicles so I kind of knew what to expect from this instalment. What I didn't expect was to not actually like this book as much as the rest of them (sorry Cheryl). The story between Jerden and Sara to me was just not really hot! If anything it was bordering on being quite boring to read. I persevered to 66 % and gave up. I may go back and finish the rest of the book, but for now Wildcat is being put back on my To Read shelf. Don't let this review stop you from reading the book. Everyone has their own opinion

Sara Shield runs her own horse ranch on the planet Terra Minor. She does not like males and shudders at their touch because of her past problems. Jerden Morokovitz is her neighbour. A Zetithian who loves to ride horses bare back and completely nude.

They both have hangups he can't and she won't. But they help each other overcome the problems and after an attempted murder or two. Their future together is looking up.

I had originally read the first book in this series and had not really cared for it. I'm not sure what possessed me to buy this one, but I do like to revisit authors sometimes in case what I read wasn't representational of their writing.

I was never able to buy into this book's world building. All in all it seems just too ridiculous for me and that colored everything. I love fantasy and I'm willing to suspend disbelief but I just couldn't here. I felt it was too over the top.
