How much spoilerish is this blurb? Bad choice of words.
A not amazing story that feels like cheap chewing gum.

Reed is an all American teenager who goes to one of the most prestigious high achools in the country,Easton Academy,on a scholarship. She falls in love and makes "Untouchable" friends with the most exclusive girls on campus, the Billings girls.Butthe more Reed becomes friends with the Billings girls, she becomes the most targeted. Murder, Disaster, and opportunity seems to always follow her everywhere.Reed can run but she can never escape what everyone around her are willing to do,to make it like she was never there.
These are actually really good books, because Kate Brian has a way of sucking you into all of her books, In these books you feel as if you are right next to Reed as she battles all of the secret disasters.

all aboard the scandalous, superficial rollercoaster ride of elite boarding school treachery. w/ teenage ennui and catty female relationships at every turn, this is perfect for fans of gossip girl and pretty little liars or those who just love a side-order of melodrama w/ their mysteries.

they all kind of blend into one: emotionally unregulated teenagers running amok w/ luxury and opulence as the backdrop for harebrained schemes. armed to the teeth w/ audacity and privilege recycling tropes of yore. a mean girl here, an unrequited crush there, the soulcrushing existence of social hierarchies dressed up in prep school fashions. in some ways, character development read more like an afterthought in favour of hyping up the siren call of designer bags and consumerist caricatures. style over substance for sure.

all in all my memories of reading this series felt like binging an obscure , canceled-after-one-season bravo reality show.

These books are short...a little teeny bopper...but I really did enjoy them. It is a good little mystery...and they are still coming so that is fun to have new ones to look forward too. I would read it if you want something fun to read.

I’m just gonna ask one question: Why?
Because I wasn’t ready to relive the unnecessary part of Finnick’s story in THG😭
