Undemanding read. The author really bent over backwards to avoid making either the hero or the heroine actually bad, meaning that the first chapter is virtually incomprehensible in the complexity of its set-up. There is a lot of non-communication. Overall, though, the book had to fit into the parameters of a category romance and given that, it was pretty readable.
I fell in love with this story and its plot. This poor girls puts up with so much and manages to remain humble and still give her heart. It is very easy to feel lonely and pain for her when she is ruined privately and publicly in London. I do wish I was able to read more about her husband and wish that she had gotten some retribution when he was alive. This is a great read for anyone with a romantic heart.
