HER HEART WAS IN THE HIGHLANDS Indeed, every hill and vale seemed a mapping of her soul. Cassie MacArthur doubted any man could ever understand the freedom of roaming high road and low. Especially not Robert Gordon, enemy to her clan --- yet, ironically, the one man in Scotland who made her blood sing! Driven by a questing spirit, Cassie MacArthur would make a bonny bride --- Robert Gordon felt it in the marrow of his bones. Truly, the legendary Lady Quickfoot would be the perfect partner for his life's work --- and his life! But was he fleet enough to catch her?
Marietta Kay(e?) Garcia is a native San Antonian, who knew by the age of eleven how to spin a good yarn according to every teacher she ever faced. She's spent the past twenty years making up fo r all her transgressions on the opposite side of the teacher's desk, and the last five working exclusively with troubled children. She particularly loves an ethnic hero and married one of her own eighteen years ago. But it wasn't until their youngest, a daughter, was two years old that life calmed down enough for this writer to fulfill the dream she'd always hadof becoming a novelist.
Roberrt and Alex are traveling around Scotland mapping the actual miles and shape. Somehow the MacArthur family tales of Lady Quickfoot make it to the ear of the King and he believes them to be fact.
When Robert first sees Cassie, she is ice skating with her niece and nephew. Then the ice cracks and Willie and Cassie go below the water. Robert immediately goes into the water and saves them. That begins the romance. He breathes life back into her.
Then her gilly is injured and Robert and Cassie scale down the side of the mountain in the snow to rescue him. The exchange more than one kiss. Robert is head over heels from the first. Cassie is not far behind.
I feel like the Father MacArthur thing is not explained enough at all. This book needs 100 more pages. It needs a series. It needs books about all of MacArthur kids. Oh well.
I love the otters.I'm not sure what that was about but it was such a cute addition.
This was the first ever book I bought for myself at Barnes and Noble! And the first ever historical romance I read! It also made me have impossible dreams about what my first time could be. Unfortunately it was not that romantic. Making love in this scene in the book. Was truly the first time I really believed in true love! And what sex could be! Naive...but Hey I was a teen.
