Thank you to Hachette Publishing for the arc of the book. Karen Kingsbury does it wonderfully again with a book of true Christmas tales. These 20 little stories will make you excited about Christmas and how God orchestrates things that we don't even see. This would be a great coffee table book or to read a chapter each night with someone.

Do you believe in miracles? Although I am an engineer and work in a fact-based science world, I do believe in miracles.

Christmas Miracles is a short collection of true stories of miracles that took place during the Christmas season. I love this description on the back of the book, “We have all experienced miracles. An incredible chance encounter that changes everything . .. help that suddenly appears from nowhere . . . kindness handed to us when it is least expected.” These stories were the type that brought shivers down my spine when miraculous events happen.

The author had the first story, “Have I Told You Lately.” Her father was dying, and he discovered the song “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” by Rod Stewart. He called his family members and played the song for them to let him know how he loved them. After he passed, his family members would hear the song during special moments or birthdays on the radio through the years. When visiting New York City, Karen ran into Rod Stewart at a park out of the blue. She told him the story of her father and he said that she didn’t know how much that meant to him right now at that moment. They later reconnected on a TV show, and both told their stories.

I read this book one evening before bed and found it to be very inspirational. It was the perfect book to put me into the Christmas spirit and to realize how God works through mysterious ways.

Favorite Quote:
“I’ve learned over the years that there are some things we on Earth cannot explain when it comes to medical healings. I like to call them miracles.”

In Christmas Miracles, Karen Kingsbury has written a brand-new book filled with collections of Christmas stories. She begins the book by sharing how critical it is to remember the true meaning of Christmas and to recall the miracles that Jesus was and how He performed miracles. The first miracle was when Jesus was born of a virgin. In this book, she shared personal stories from others that all are based on Christmastime and we can see firsthand the fingerprints of God.

She begins the book by sharing a story of her dad. Her dad was one of her biggest fans and he loved to read her colored pages, poems, and short stories. He would tell her how the world one day would know of her writing. He declared that she would become a best-selling author. When she wrote her first Baxter family book, he told her it would be a huge hit and one day be made into a movie. He could just see it happening. He had type 2 diabetes. He eventually became very sick and was instructed to start dialysis in hope he would make it another year. He discovered a song for their family “Have I Told You Lately… that I Love You” that Rob Stewart had recently redone the classic song. He kept reminding them of this song while he was sick and in 2007, he suffered a heart attack. She shared how over the years they would hear this song randomly on the radio at just the right moment that they needed it. She shared also how Rob Stewart took their picture for them in Manhattan. At first, they didn’t know who he was. She was able to explain to him how much the song meant to them and he thanked them and said they didn’t know how much he needed to hear that. It was also confirmed by the Today show when she told them the story and he even appeared in a video call.

Another favorite story was about Jessica’s gift. Jessica Warner was born with cerebral palsy and couldn’t walk. One Christmas, she asked her mother why her legs didn’t work like other children. She explained how she was born early and how she had to fight to live. She shared how God told her that she was special. They stopped taking her to church after her first birthday. She got tired of the comments. Her grandparents were taking her to church with them. Her father purchased her pink ballet slippers because he believed she would be healed and able to one day dance in them. He was in denial and this caused them to become separated and their marriage and love for each other grew apart. He would work more and more to avoid the pain. Jessica at age 4 started noticing how they never hugged or kissed anymore. They finally decided on getting a divorce lawyer. She prayed for God to help and to cause them to love each other again. One Christmas, the pastor was going to be telling the Christmas story and she begged her parents to go. He told the story and also instructed them to lay something down at the Savior’s feet. It needs to be something you love or something you need to let go of. Jessica laid down her favorite doll at the feet of Jesus at the nativity scene. This inspired her dad to lay down a note and the slippers stating how he would accept Jessica. He realized that he had to learn to live with her having cerebral palsy where she could learn to live with it. This in turn led to them not getting divorced and their marriage was saved.

I would recommend this awesome Christmas book to anyone who is ready to be inspired and touched this holiday season. I loved how the stories would make you laugh, cry, and just to be encouraged with hope. The stories are all based on true stories and they will provide you with the hopes in Christmas miracles coming true. I also liked how she include a reading discussion guide to make it easier to read in a small group setting or a book club.

I absolutely adore Karen Kingsbury’s captivating fictional series centered around the beloved Baxter family. So, when the opportunity arose to delve into her inspiring non-fiction work, titled “Christmas Miracles,” I simply couldn’t resist. As I immersed myself in the pages, attempting to pinpoint my most cherished miracles, I found myself constantly and eagerly shifting favorites with each new account. However, if I had to select a definitive frontrunner, without a shadow of a doubt, it would be the heartwarming tale entitled “A Touch of Heaven.” Its recounting of a remarkable scoliosis healing struck a deep chord within me, prompting me to explore the realm of Healing Prayers. In light of witnessing divine interventions, such as the restoration of my vision, I now eagerly anticipate the prospect of divine healing for my own scoliosis condition.

If you are seeking a source of inspiration and upliftment during the holiday season or at any time of the year, I highly urge you to procure a copy of the remarkable book “Christmas Miracles.” This profoundly moving read is certain to infuse your heart with hope and wonder, leaving an indelible mark on your spirit. As a testament to its extraordinary impact, I confidently give “Christmas Miracles” a perfect rating of 5 stars out of 5. Embrace the power of miracles this holiday season!

Mistletoe Miracles!

This is a collection of true stories, miraculous events, that took place during the Christmas season.

Many lovely stories will be found between the covers. For instance, there is the time a perfect gift appeared for a little girl who desperately needed a friend. In another case, a plane that was in trouble was only able to land with the help and encouragement from an employee in the airport tower. Experience the surprise the pilot did when he wanted to thank him.

All the stories are good, but the story that touched my heart was from the author, Karen Kingsbury. She relates a series of miracles that took place after the death of her father.

This little book is hardbacked and would be a great gift, or you might not be able to give it up, and keep it for yourself. Although these events take place during Christmas time, the book will be appreciated throughout the year. The stories can be read all at once, or stretched out to be enjoyed over time. Fans of true miracle events will love this five-star book!

Thank you, Worthy Publishing, for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.

This is a book that is meant to be savored and shared. Karen Kingsbury gives us over one dozen stories about ordinary people who have a Christmas miracle to share. These are full out extraordinary occurrences that can only be from God's hand. Kingsbury begins by sharing a heartwarming miracle that took place in her own family. At the center of this story is the Rod Steward classic "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You." I will never hear that song again without remembering her inspiring story. And that is just the beginning. There is many inspiring stories in this book: an impossible plane landing, a reconciled couple, an overnight healing, a recovered ring, and so much more. Enjoy this book of miracles in the midst of the seasons when we celebrate the miracle of God made flesh -- the baby in the manger.

This is the second time I’ve read this book and so will continue reading it every year in December. It is such an incredible book filled with multiple true stories about real miracles which have happened in peoples lives. I love how Karen has captures all these true stories and put them together in a book for people to read. I have now passed this book on to my Mum to read. This is a perfect book to bring out and read over and over again each year, it would also be a fantastic present for someone. This book is perfect for people of faith but also non-believers to read the amazing works of God. ❤️ 10/10

What a lovely surprise this book turned out to be. I had not read much Karen Kingsbury when I bought this book as a birthday present for a friend. I bought an extra copy to have as an “emergency” Christmas gift and decided to read one chapter for myself. I read one chapter a day and it truly had the power to lift my spirit, reminding me that there are no coincidences with God. I highly recommend this little book if you want to be reminded that God is alive and well and working all around us.

This is truly a wonderful collection of true stories for a world-weary person to be reminded of the wonder of Christmas and miracles! I really enjoyed the story of the child who was deaf finding a special friend. The last story has to be my favorite, as it is the most unusual and remarkable. Read it and see!

I enjoyed this collection of true Christmas stories although I feel I have read some of them before. I particularly liked the author’s encounter with Rod Stewart which I feel was a Guidepost’s story.

I was looking for the Hallmark movie equivalent of Christian miracle stories when I picked it off the shelf. Completely delivered on that expectation. Cheesy in a comforting sort of way.

Sometimes, when there is so much negative stuff in the news, we need to know good things, like miracles, can still happen today too. Christmas Miracles by Karen Kingsbury is a book full of real life stories to encourage people through the Christmas season.

Christmas Miracles: True Stories from the Most Wonderful Time of the Year has some wonderful heart-tugging stories in it. I enjoyed them all but I think the first story, Have I Told You Lately?, that Kingsbury wrote about her father and a Rod Stewart song was my very favorite. If you are familiar with Guideposts magazine, these stories are like a whole book of wonderful real-life stories that could have appeared in that magazine. Some of these stories will make you smile or laugh and others will cause you to tear up--some may even do both. They are all stories that bring up the emotions of the holidays.

Christmas Miracles would make a great gift for someone of about any age. I think most people would enjoy these stories and feel encouraged after reading them. I breezed through this book quite quickly and enjoyed Christmas Miracles a lot. There are questions in the back of the book for book clubs. It would be a great book for book clubs to read and discuss during this time of year.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.
