Designed as a course textbook, Celebrating Children provides biblically-based material to equip people working with children in difficult circumstances. It is broadly based enough to be relevant to workers both in the West and in the developing world. I have less underlining in this book, perhaps because much of it is dense and technical, but I also have a longer list in the front of things I might want to refer back to like a wonderful letter from “Dad” (p.218) that strings together Scripture verses that tell us how much our heavenly Father cares for us, and a poem by a deaf child (p.222)—one of the editors. It is a comprehensive resource for organizations that work on any continent, but especially relevant for those who cross cultural lines.
