Family Sins Duet #2

Sins of My Father

Rate this book
What is the consequence for falling in love with someone you are forbidden to touch? An eternity of guilt? Shame? Misery? Or can you find incredible bliss?

Penn

I’ve resigned myself to a lifetime of loving the wrong person because it feels so right. But nothing worthwhile comes that easily. The challenges we’ve had to face to be together just kept on coming, like a storm with no end. Would this ever get any easier? Or was it always going to be a tug-of-war between my head and my heart?

Wilder

There was no going back. No do-overs. I fell in love with my father and I have zero regrets. Every day was a battle to keep our secret from getting out, and when it finally does, will the bubble surrounding our perfect world burst?

Sins of My Father is the second book in the Family Sins duet. It features an incestuous relationship, belt play, daddy/boy role play, food play, stuffing kink, and spanking.

Warning to any readers who may interested in this duet.

This couple does not stay exclusive. In the novella Wild & Wicked They have a foursome (MM+MM) with another couple from Ball Boy. Personally I am not a fan of sharing nor like seeing couples I have read in the past who were monogamous suddenly sharing in future stories. It is not my cup of tea at all. I know there are many who feel the same way I do so I wanted to post a warning to future reader. Unfortunately it has impacted my feelings/past enjoyment of this duet.

Original Review:

“This boy was mine in every way. He was mine to care for, mine to love and treasure, mine to pleasure, mine to tease, and mine to protect. Biologically, spiritually, and in every other way. Wild belonged to me. He wanted me. Had chosen me.”

Sins of My Father picks up right where Son of a Sinner ends. Penn discovers that Wild is his biological son and now questions everything about his life, including how his ex gave up their child. Penn feels so guilty about his feelings towards his son, and Wild does not make it easy for him. He loves his father as a lover and wants to put their past behind them and focus on the future and their relationship as lovers.

I loved Sins of My Father. It was emotional, sweet and erotic, everything I love to see in taboo incest stories! I loved how Wild knew what he wanted and did not let Penn deny his feelings. He got him to understand that while he suffered going through the foster care system, Penn has given him so much love, security, and worth.

“You were the first man who ever wanted me. The first man who accepted me. First to ever touch me or kiss me. The first man who fell in love with me and the first and only man I’ll ever love. When I say, ‘You are my everything, my whole world’, it’s not because you matter most. It’s not because I’m in love with you. It’s because you fill every single role in my life.”

“You gave me a life worth living, a future. You created me. You’re my best friend. My father. My partner… and my lover. It begins and ends with you, Penn. It’s always going to be me and you. Till the end of time.”

I enjoyed their Daddy/Boy relationship, Wild is a bratty boy. There are a lot of kinks explored - food play, spanking, belt play, and more. I loved how steamy and sexy the story was.

I am glad that Penn realizes that he can’t drown in guilt and shame. They decide to move away to an area where they can start over with no one who knows them around. They meet another couple, Austin and Marcus, who also have their own “not socially acceptable” relationship. They become close and finally find people who they can be open with regarding the nature of their relationship. I hope Austin and Marcus will have their own book!

“I will always love you, Wild baby. Never, ever doubt that. If you woke up tomorrow and decided you never wanted to kiss me again, I would still love you forever, any way that you needed me to.”

Overall really enjoyed this duet, especially Sins of My Father. This story may not be for everyone, so please check the trigger warning. However, if you enjoy taboo, age gap, incest stories, erotica, Daddy/boy, and kinks, I recommend it.

unpopular opinion ahead: I don't give it a bad rating, the book itself was good, I quite liked it, I have no real criticisms either. It just bored me a bit, not strongly, but somehow it didn't manage to really captivate me or draw me in more.
After a few painful pages, Penn and Wilder find their way back to each other, although the blood relationship causes Penn a lot of trouble, not so much the fact itself, but that his ex-wife robbed him of the years he could have been a real father. These first pages in themselves are, for me, the most beautiful in this book. Even though it hurts to watch Penn deal with his grief over the lost years, these pages are so wonderfully authentic that I was simply impressed. Also very nice and hot how Wilder coaxes him out of his dark mood.

„Lick the tip, baby. Dip your tongue in Daddy’s slit. Clean it up before it drips and gets messy.“ 🥵🥵🥵

And then the rest of the story unfortunately bored me a bit, it was nice and had its hot and also sad moments, but unfortunately nothing more.

OMG, this story!!! Lollipops, cupcakes, belts, showers, and bookstores, where to begin!?! It was the perfect combination of filthy and sweet! Raquel Riley really captures so many emotions, I could literally feel them coming off the page, so beautifully written. I felt Penn's anguish and struggles as well as his love for Wilder. Their love for each other was off the charts! There were so many scenes that were beyond hot. Hot is to mild a word for what I read, and I'm all about it! And the ending was everything and more, so special and meaningful. I'm absolutely in love with this book and highly recommend if taboo is your jam!

What if you CAN love someone you shouldn't?

5 stars⭐ Read if you dare the forbidden!
A contemporary highly taboo (father/son incest) romance story with warring feelings, missing regrets, cute shirts, 1st times, love & starts, friends, HOTness, kinky fun, many feels, & a lovely HEA! We get to see their relationship mature, it's beautiful ♥️.
This is Part 2 of 2, longer than Part 1 & with 3 sweet illustrations (Part 1 had 1). I loved Penn & Wilder, Devoured this in around 4hrs!

The book picks up from the cliffhanger. OMFG. The blood test results which changes it all...YES, Penn & Wilder are Father-Son by blood. What now?

We see Penn's regret of missing Wild's early life, anger at his ex-wife (Me too!! 😞), feels so broken...But Wilder, omg, loved seeing his maturity, giving his daddy a shoulder to lean on, reasons to cheer up.

“You were the first man who ever wanted me. The first man who accepted me....the first and only man I’ll ever love."

Enjoyed them chilling with books, future planning. Wild starts college & gets "adult" job(s)! Wee, Sexy first times! OMG, this book is steamy af. Daddy play & kinksss, once in bookstore too 🤤. Penn grows in his Dom side for the headstrong Wild.

"Wild belonged to me. He wanted me. Had chosen me. And I would never let him go. Not ever."

Promise. They move to don't hide, their relationship growth & LOVE is adorbs. The new town's fun with festivals, & omg neighbors! It's unplanned but great that Austin+Marcus (Waiting for their book btw!) become P+W's friends, they needed it! So much fun & a bit jealousy 🤣.

"My Daddy was eye candy."

But oh no, What if A+M find their secret? Disgust or acceptance? Such heart-racing scenes🤯!! Tensions kept me at toes, the emotions are heart-stealing, loved seeing my dears Penn & Wild get their HEA 😉🤵🤵.

I'm so happy to have found & read this duet! Will totally be reading more from Raquel ♥️.

I found this duet novellas (& author) via bookstagram as I'm always looking for good taboo romances. I'd Immediately grabbed Book 1 while Book 2, I asked the author for an ARC (I couldn't wait till release lol) & She gave it to me!!! I'm so thankful!! I binged read them (Book 2 is longer than 1). A great combo of kink & romance.

I've come so far in my love of Forbidden Romance, I don't even hesitate these days 😆.

Our main characters are Penn (older, kind, patient) & Wilder (teen, smart, headstrong). Their interactions are so fun!

We spend years with these two. The start, change & surprise truths. How they navigate their Age-Gap (20+ yrs), incestuous (father-son) relationship. And what if someone discovers the truth?! OMFG!

I loved Penn & Wild's sweet relationship. Some angst. Good pacing. Cute. Love (& making friends). The steam? Hottt!! Especially the 2nd book 🔥🔥 (Wild's 18 when sexual things happen). Daddy/boy role play, Belt play, Food play, Spankings (& etc)!
Overall, the story is enjoyable with a lovely HEA. A #MustRead if you love this genre!

Wild and Penn have my heart forever ❤️‍🔥
Loved this book so much.

ARC REVIEW
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is daddy/boy taboo erotica at it’s finest. Raquel knows how to write scorching hot and dirty daddy kink. Holy hell 🔥

Lots of delicious smut like: Role play, daddy kink, belt-play. Disappearing panties, a lollipop and a cupcake come into play 🤯🥵😳🫠 and Penn has has a mouth on him that might make you blush 🫣

While this was very taboo and wildly erotic it was also very sweet and passionate.

In book two Penn is agonizing over the result of the DNA test and the result. Wilder is relentless in pushing him over the edge to snap him out of it. Trying to make him see it changes nothing between them.
We follow along as they try and navigate their lusty, passionate, devoted relationship

They end up moving to start fresh somewhere no one knows them and end up becoming friends with the neighbors. The very relatable gay age-gab couple Austin and Marcus.
Their book with be Coach Boy coming soon!

This won’t be for everyone as it’s a father/son taboo relationship. So please check out TWs ⚠️ But it has a very sweet HEA 🫶🏼

Thanks to Raquel for letting me be part of her ARC team for this book. It was right up my alley 😅

Release date is May 18th and it’s only available on Smashwords ❤️‍🔥

“I twirled the lollipop around his wet pucker, almost coming in my pants when it sank past his tight rim”

“Lick the tip, baby. Dip your tongue in Daddy’s slit. Clean it up before it drips and gets messy.”

“You’re doing so good, baby. I worried I wouldn’t fit in your mouth, but it was made for Daddy. Gonna stretch your little lips around my cock. The harder you suck, the better it tastes.”

“Are you thirsty? Daddy’s got a juicy treat for you. I want you to swallow every drop. Let it rinse that filthy mouth clean.”

“You taste delicious, baby,” I praised, sucking dark marks into the soft, pale skin of his thighs.”

“More than ever, I was grateful for my son, my lover, and soon to be my husband.”

Overall Opinion
Continuing on from the first book, Penn and Wild are even more lovable in this book, having to come to terms with the results of the test and what that means for their relationship. They are both so in love but can't be together, and it hurt me seeing them go through that. Penn is also coupled with the feeling of guilt from the past 16 years and watching him sink into that was painful to watch, really hoping he would get past it for his and Wilds sake. My whole heart was involved in this book and the author did such an amazing job with dealing with a taboo subject. I also am completely unable to look at certain foods the same way ever again!! Overall this was the perfect way for the duet to end and I can't wait for more from this author!

I'm going to give this book 2.9 - 3⭐ and 3⭐ for the duet in general.

I don't think this book convinced me, neither did the first one. And as I stated in the previous review, it reminds me of O. Hywell's duet and this is who the author thanks in this book, so now I see my nose was right. 😂
I'm afraid for me personally the duet doesn't come near Hywell's duet or any of her incest works, which I absolutely love; the mentionet duet, Morally Ambiguous, is one of my favourites of all time with this trope. And yes, I'm aware I mention this plenty of times in my reviews.

I think the father/son combination can get cringey pretty fast and in some regard, this is what happened to me when reading this book.
There was too much explaining going on and not enough of that feelings-relationship development, both Wilder and Penn suddenly are in love with each other and we don't really experience how they got there?!

I really appreciate if the author can take me on that forbidden road of developing feelings for someone the MC shouldn't, and just peeling off layer by layer of that want and desire, I like to experience that process in detail and on a very emotional high with maybe a little bit of angst.

But it's different where so many other events are happening around both MMCs, that it puts their intimate journey towards one another in the background. They just somehow fall in love. They have sex and it's just that, sex. That's how it felt for me.
There was a lot of sex in this book, but I can't say I was into it, the only scene I liked was the cupcake sex scene at the end, and that's it.

There was too much talking, explaining, the MMCs were going through countless things that were just obstructing what I really wanted to read about, and that was them on a very personal, emotional level, just them, nothing and noone else.

Maybe this duet works for most, I certainly can appreciate the author developing the story further than the MMCs just getting together, but overall I didn't really feel Wilder and Penn's bond as much - but I did like them individually!

I thought Wilder was a great character and if the story focused more on them and their dynamic, his brattiness would really come out, I'd experience that Daddy - boy dynamic in its fullness - the dynamic I actually really liked in this book! I hardly ever do, but I liked it between them.

So I feel like an opportunity was lost here, it would be much better in my opinion, if the story would focus more on 2-3 major events and really delve into the MMCs on a very intense personal level .

- Going to Penn's parents' house - pointless to mention it, if it doesn't come to some major unfolding of Wilder's true identity;
- The DNA testing was fine, but Penn never had closure with his ex about it, I felt like that was missing - yes, they didn't want to out themselves, but still, she should've been confronted.
- Moving to another town and inserting a new couple was unnecessary for such a short story, I can recall everything about Austin and the Coach, but not enough about Penn and Wilder during that time, meaning the new couple took the stage and the MMCs were, again, somewhere in the background.

Their relationship should've been always in the forefront, and it didn't feel like it (to me). The journey towards them being together wasn't developed enough for my taste.

Would I read this again? No. But I do appreciate anyone writing this trope, it's very taboo and I like every little addition to our small (?) little club of incest lovers.

Sins of my father is EVERYTHING - taboo, filthy, steamy, emotional, nasty, funny, sweet and spicy... did I mention HOT? Penn and Wild's relationship is a rollercoaster -taking the reader from sweet festival visits and winning stuffed animals to down right nasty things done with a cupcake...and if you are a lover of all things taboo, this is the series for you! You definitely need to read the books in order to get the full picture, but Sins of the Father can stand alone if you are just looking for a taboo father/son relationship.

**ARC COPY REVIEW***

I had the privilege to read the ARC of the 2nd book in the taboo Family Sins Duet, Sins of My Father by @authorraquelriley...I loved Son Of A Sinner and I hurt for Penn and Wild, but this one I just wanted to crawl inside the book and hug Penn... he already knowing the truth and seeing it in black and white..it truly rocked his world...from losing 16 years of life of something he had always wanted, to betrayal, and the possibility of losing the love of his life...Raquel navigates us through his pain and Wild bringing him through...finding a way for them to still be together and have that love that they have both craved all their lives..to be able to live their lives and not have to hide their love where others are not aware of who they are and the relationship and the ties that they have...@authorraquelriley never fails to fully capture my heart and mind when I read one of her books and bringing something into her stories that will forever stick in my mind..I will never look at lollipops and cupcakes ever the same again🤣😂...I seriously think her and Tal have it out for their readers to use one word to trigger our brains to automatically think of their books..😉😏

This is the second book about Penn and Wilder continuing where "Son of a Sinner" left off. Penn and Wild are going to ignore the familial ties and carry on as lovers. This book is so hot it will melt your pages. Forbidden love and so taboo but they find support and carry on. Loved it!

This was the most realistic taboo book I’ve ever read. This duet was exceptionally well written. Wilder had me in total stitches in places and Penn I truly felt for and the dilemma he faces falling in love with his son. Raquel is hands down one of my favorite authors and this duet is a must read!

“You were the first man who ever wanted me. The first man who accepted me. First to ever touch me or kiss me. First man who fell in love with me, and the first and only man I’ll ever love. When I say, ‘You are my everything, my whole world’, it’s not because you matter most. It’s not because I’m in love with you. It’s because you fill every single role in my life.”
Penn & Wild continue their relationship as more and decide to move across country where they make new friends and build a happy life. Less angsty but dirty AF
“That’s it. Lick it like a dog with a bone. Yeah, just like that.” I risked a glance at him, and he tugged on the belt hard, making my eyes water. “Fuck, Wild. I missed your mouth, baby.”// “That’s it, baby. Let Daddy hear you. Scream for me.” I spread my thighs, hoping he’d bring the belt lower. “So pretty. So red. I like seeing you marked like this.”// “Bounce, baby. Ride Daddy’s cock.”
So dirty.
I swiped my finger through the frosting and brought it to my hole, but he stopped me. “No, baby. The whole cupcake.”
Yeah these two are very dirty but they also are great at communication and taking care of each other's needs. Penn ultimately wants Wild to be happy in a healthy way and Wild knows that his happiness is being Penn's husband. Sweet & dirty book with an amazing HEA and awesome introduction to the MMC's from Ball Boy.

I really loved book one....
How could i not??
The way Penn felt lonely and sad before Wild came into his life, the way Wild thought no one would have loved him, my baby boy 🥺 how they fell from each other.....plus i'm a goner for older men and Daddy Kink, and the taboo aspect of their relationship so it was a win win for me.
That’s why i couldn't wait to read the second book, but i have to say i lost interest after few chapters.
I mean Penn and Wild' relationship is swoony and i loved them, however a part from few key moments and some really, like really, hot scenes, everything felt a bit boring. It was like the longest epilogue ever. I would have cut some chapter and made it in one book. It would have worked better for me.

In the end it's a good duet and i liked the author style so i'm gonna def read more from her. Starting with Austin and Marcus' story 😌

This story picks up right where book one left off. Wild and Penn were waiting for the test results. Does it really matter what the results are? Do you think it will change their love for each other.

We watch them now navigate how to live their HEA while finding new friends and they’re forever.

Thank you to Raquel for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After finishing book one, I couldn't wait to jump into book two. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long. Whatever wait I did have was well worth it because Sins of My Father was so good. Penn and Wilder are everything and I was so eager for them to have their HEA. Also, Raquel didn't pull any punches with the spice in part two of this duet. Holy SMOKES someone call the fire department because I have a fire for them to put out.

Honestly, other authors are going to have to step up their spice game after this. This will definitely be a duet I come back to reread often.

I have been eagerly waiting for this second book since I read the first one and it didn't disappoint. Yes, it's taboo but the story is so much more. It's written with sensitivity and sweetness. It was really emotional in the first as they awaited the DNA results but their bond and connection was so strong and they are clearly meant together. I liked that they found some new and understanding friends. I enjoyed reading this. Raquel is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

This second part was even sweeter. But maybe in the first book I especially wanted to hug Wilder, while in this one I wanted to especially hug Penn. Wilder's growth was written well, especially maturing emotionally and he was somehow further ahead than Penn in healing and moving on.

Looking forward to reading Markus and Austin's book!

Penn wanted nothing more than to be a father, but life had other plans. He was in a loveless marriage with someone who didn’t want kids. After their divorce, Penn decides to foster with the hopes of adoption.

Wilder has been in foster care his entire life. When he gets placed with Penn, it was only supposed to be for a few days until they could find a place for him. When he felt safe and cared for, he didn’t want to leave.

This story. I really felt for Penn. I can’t imagine wanting to be a parent, but your spouse not being on board. I was so glad he was able to foster and finally feel like a dad. When Wilder came to him, he was so sweet- determined to make his stay with him the best he could make it.

And Wilder? That boy. What a life he had, being tossed from home to home, never having a place where he truly belonged…until Penn. I loved watching them open up and get closer to each other. Penn finally had a son and Wilder finally had a home.

Their journey of discovering just how close they really are, was really well done. I liked that Wilder gave Penn the space he so desperately needed, but also giving him the push he didn’t realize he needed as well. I loved watching their relationship develop and grow, and them growing as well.

Overall I really loved their story. I liked them establishing themselves with each other and in the real world. I wish there was an epilogue to see where they ended up, but I know they are happy and at peace, and maybe at a pie eating contest in their town.

Finding out he fell in love with his biological son was a bit much for Penn. He moped and neglected Wilder but Wilder managed to pull him out of his funk.

After moving and starting a new life, Wilder and Penn are befriended by their neighbors Marcus and Austin (from Ball Boy). Trust is earned, secrets are revealed and a ‘wedding’ is on the horizon.

I have a paperback edition that contains book 1 and 2. There is no distinct separation, so I don't know where in my edition book 1 ends and book 2 starts.

I like taboo stories when they're done right. I read a few of those. I also like Daddy/Boy dynamics, again when they're done right.
I don't think this was done right in both regards.

My issues already started when they met. Penn wanted to be a parent so badly, yet it took him years to even consider adoption. Then he rejects a baby, and two children. Only to find his perfect match with a 16-year old. Nothing wrong with that in general, but he already thought that after a few days. Way too soon to make such a huge decision.
He also takes the teen shopping and makes inappropriate comments while buying lube.
Soon after he has "the talk" where he encourages the teen to watch porn and also explains how to have anal sex.
Basically a stranger in his forties explains to a teenager how to prep an asshole after knowing him for a few days. There's a lot wrong with that.

Wilder never really acts like a teenager. It is told that he acted out, but it was never on page.
He is also way too trusting for a burned foster kid.
But well... good for him that he's not traumatized? And submits to everything his dad says, accepts everything he is given.

Their first sexual encounter was at Wilder's 18th birthday, where they both consumed alcohol. The father is completely drunk, but the son is still able to drive them home.
I guess the author wanted to make it less bad because Wilder is actually the one who forces himself onto his dad.

Then plot twist: They are actually related.
To be honest, the whole book would've felt less weird and less like grooming a minor, if they knew about being related from the beginning.
The whole foster thing changed it from taboo to molest imo.
I'm disappointed that there wasn't a fallout scene with the mother.

The dad actually takes a little step back after the results... meaning it takes 8 months or so for them to have anal.
Why rush the beginning of the book so much if you have a time jump later on. I mean Wilder could've gone to college for a while in between. It wouldn't have changed the story much.

To be honest, I stopped paying attention after a while. It was filled with so much sex.
I still wonder a bit how long a lollipop can last (like in the supermarket, on the drive home and then while being used as a sex toy), and how big it still must've been to make his hole loose...

They meet a couple with their own forbidden age-gap romance. They probably have their own book somewhere, but I don't really care.

And how long this review is should be a sign of how annoyed I am with the book.

🔴Warning Taboo Duet, Daddy & Son🔴

This is a duet, and my review for both

Book 1-
Penn a man who in his 40’s is starting over again after a divorce and childless marriage. He decides to take matters into his own hands and make a family for himself in the form of fostering, but after a few failed matches, Wild is dropped on his doorstep, a 16 year old boy who has bounced from home to home all his life. He’s used to not having anyone to rely on so when Penn starts to take care of his basic needs he realises how much he’s missed out on in life.

This book is taboo, but any spice takes place after Wild is 18, the connections and bonds formed before 18 were not acted on. But I loved the connection they both had and all they need is the right person to love them unconditionally it just happened’s that they might be related!

Book 2-
The story continues as Penn and Wild navigate new emotions, and guilt, over finding out they are blood related, they decide they want to be as open as possible in their relationship so move to a new town to start fresh as a couple. They form a bond with their new neighbour’s who are in a similar situation to them, but will finding out that they are Daddy and Son be to much for them?

In this second book we get to see the wild and down right filthy side of Penn and Wilder, Jeeze it’s hot as hell and I will not be looking at food in the same way again!! 🥵🥵🥵. We get to see them explore the emotions they both struggle with daily and learn to lean on each other to keep them grounded. I love that even thought this book is taboo and hot as fuck, you still get to see the sweet and vulnerable side to both men. I loved this duet so much, book 1 is available on Smashwords now and book 2 is out in May.

Raquel, Raquel, Raquel. She warned us that this would be dirty – and dirty it was. Kinky, spicy and sexy beyond all reason.

Incredibly taboo storyline of a biological father and son aside – and what a mindf*ck that was for Penn, taking weeks to get through his guilt and overwhelming emotions – we’ve been brought the conclusion to what turns out to be a beautiful love story of 2 people who shouldn’t be together, like literally, but work together so perfectly that you’re able to forget that their relationship is illegal, frowned upon and very, very wrong. The scenes where Penn and Wild play into their D/s dynamic and it makes for some very hot moments.

After graduating high school and taking a few introductory college courses, the men decide to move across the country, to a town well-researched by Wild, to be somewhere nobody knows them. Somewhere they can be open with their relationship, be Penn & Wild instead of foster parent and foster child. The couple wind up moving next door to another same-sex couple, a sweet, golden retriever jock and his former coach. Their age-gap romance and marriage gives Penn & Wild both comfort and jealousy. They want what their new friends have but know they can never have it.

When Penn accidentally blows their cover, Wild is convinced that he no longer has a friend his age and that they no longer have another couple to spend time with. Can Penn fix his mistake? Will he and Wild find a way to be married – in their hearts, since they cannot do so legally?

I received a complimentary copy of this book and, as always, my review is honest and unpaid.
