When Vincent's daughter Loretta found a six-foot-by three-foot section of well-laid bricks under the dirt in the basement of their old Pennsylvania farmhouse, she convinced her father to help her pull them up. Hearing screams from the basement later that night, Vincent rushed down to see his struggling daughter being dragged beneath the seemingly living soil. He followed, only to be attacked by creatures resembling mythological ghosts...
I was born and raised in Eerie (Erie) Pennsylvania, which might help account for my interest in horror and fantasy. I graduated from Edinboro University of PA (at the time it was Edinboro State College). I taught Biology at Saegertown High school, but started writing fiction and had my first novel published in 1996. I'm no longer teaching, but am still writing. Reality is all well and good, but in fiction at least I can make sure the good guys win, something that doesn't always happen in real life. While my novels are in the genres of science fiction, horror, and fantasy, and I read books in those genres, I do at least as much reading in the fields of science and history as in fiction.
