Libby Michalowski was livid. Being labeled a spinster and presented with a bizarre marriage contract had made her the laughingstock of her colleagues. Instead of winning her hand, Joseph Landowski, mystery suitor, was going to get a piece of her mind!
But one look at Joe and Libby knew he was beyond reproach. No man that breathtakingly handsome...more - that enticingly sexy - would need a matchmaker. In fact, Libby was hoping they could eliminate the middleman altogether.
This was a bit hilarious but also deep in the sense, we actually see a couple negotiate a marriage contract where they discuss their differing views, compromise and see if they can make it work long-term. Both the h/H are of Polish descent and their fathers want grand-kids. So, on the heroine's 30th, someone drops a marriage contract on her with the hero, and that enrages her. She runs to his place (the contract has his address), at 2 am and instead finds a slinky woman and a gorgeous hero (not what she was expecting at all). Both of them decide to negotiate the contract to keep their fathers occupied but pretty soon it starts looking real.
The hero is a successful businessman and has a traditional outlook, he wants a stay at home wife, life in the suburbs, the works. The heroine has no intention of giving up her career or moving to a place that adds to her commute and she isn't even sure about kids & can't cook (H cooks like a dream). We actually see these two work out issues (pretend at first) and compromise. This was different yet something I enjoyed.
