Welp I be asking for these toxic angsty 🍑 stories and boy did this series deliver! My reading brain doesn’t even function these days without stress so this was right up my alley 🤣🤣
Whew the Disciple family got hit hard in book 3 and no family member was exempt from chaos in their world. And to make matters worse the series is written by an author that doesn’t mind killing off her characters so I literally spent most of book 3 holding my breath because I didn’t know who would make it out unscathed and who wouldn’t. These siblings and their mates took me through it but I loved every moment of it!
I wish we would’ve gotten clear cut results on the DNA test because I don’t trust Mia one bit!
I wanted more from Nardo and Naija and I pray this isn’t the end for them. They were sprinkled throughout the series and I’d love to see their relationship develop more.
Other than editing issues and the random but obviously necessary time jumps I really enjoyed this series and can’t wait to dive into Frank’s story later this month!
to see all of the siblings get their HEA's after all the hell they've been through was bittersweet. this series was definitely a ride that was unpredictable.
The bond that these siblings have shared since that fatal car accident and subsequent path their lives traveled was amazing. So many trials and tribulations, heartache and despair, but at the end of the day, they had each other. I'm so glad that each Disciple sibling was able to overcome and heal the trauma of their past. This was such a heartfelt story of drama, betrayal, love, passion and redemption. I really loved this journey.
Property of a Rich Ninja 3 was a finale for sure. The emotions right off the back. Childe, I was in chapter 5 and was about to have a nervous breakdown 😬 😅 but Jessica gave me such a great and happy ending. It was worth the ride. Yes, I recommend reading this and personally all her books.
While this book deserved a 3 star for the spelling errors; it was tough giving it 3. The Disciple brother been through a lot but were all about go find happiness. Jah finally got his HEA with Faye. Messiah found his happiness in Tory. Shauka finally stopped pushing Yaz away and got together for the sake of their son. It was nice seeing who surprised them on there wedding day. Naija, baby sis was able to overcome her trauma and let Nardo in and get the love she deserved. I lowkey want a story about them. Naija and Messiah forgiving Karen was long overdue. This was a nice conclusion from the trauma the Disciple family been through.
Also what happened to the baby ole girl was supposed to be pregnant with 🧐🤣
Shauka and Sariah wedding turned into a full blown circus Sariah ex showed up and decided to stop the wedding by outing her. Faye gets a message from Mia messy ass about Jah. Detective Freemont sneaky and annoying ass made an appearance and arrested Messiah during all the chaos. After everything settling down Shauka was at his wits end. No matter what he said although Yazmeen really did have his heart and he really didn't want to marry Sariah. Shauka felt some type of way finding out Sariah played him. Jah ended up with a severe case of Covid that damn near had him on his death bed. Yazmeen had a rough delivery while delivering her and Shauka son that almost caused her death. With Jah finally being hospitalized and Messiah in jail. All the responsibility fell on Shauka and he really couldn't handle it. Shauka anger was getting the best of him. He was taking out his frustration on those closest to him. Yazmeen started to feel smothered and had to get away from Shauka and his madness. I felt sorry for Faye because even though she was there for Jah by his beside as he battled with Covid. She still was dealing with the message from Mia about Jah betrayal in silence. What I didn't like was when Faye got a chance to confront Jah. He didn't give her any grace. Najia still had a lot of trauma to unpack from the molestation caused by her stepfather. She was also dealing with the fact of not knowing if one of her brother's was going to live, and another was locked up, as well as really wanting to reconnect with her foster mother. She wasn't ready for a relationship with Nardo. Nardo was a good dude and tried his best to be there for her but Najia pushed him away. Messiah making the decision to take a plea deal was admirable. Especially knowing if he didn't. It would put his brother's and their crew at risk with the FED'S. Tory had his back although she was hurt behind his decision but during his time in prison. Messiah definitely matured.
Not at All what I was expecting, it was so much more!
First let me say Ms. Jessica Watkins I’m obsessed with dem Disciple Brothers. The was this book wrapped up all their trauma, consequences of their action and growth had me in my feelings. I was rooting for all of them to find a happy ending knowing that there is no happily ever after for guys like them.
There was so much going on in this book that at times it did feel rushed. But drama was needed to tie everything together and make all the relationships come together. As I started this series, Jah was my favorite brother but as the story comes to a close I was team Shauka all the way!
One thing I really admired about the author’s story was she allowed each of the characters to face their own level of insecurities, trauma, mental health concerns in such a realistic way that shows the complexity of urban life. I loved how they each self discovered the need to grow and except responsibility for their actions, emotions and life.
See, Shauka did the right thing by visiting Tristen about his relationship with Sariah. All Sariah was going to do is lie to Shauka which she did. Mia messy a** is still causing havoc on Faye's life what was the reason she had Faye do the d.n.a test only to disappear? It took Bucks a near death experience to apologize and take back everything he said it humbled him. Queen let her boys have it telling them that they going to lose their women if they don't get it together. Najah pushed Nadro away after pledge his love for her. She broken according to Nadro. It took Messiah to go to jail to grow up and be a man. Karen took the first step to reach out to Messiah. Messiah didn't want Tory to wait on him. Yaz stood her ground with Shauka, said she wasn't going to leave him but he has to get some help. Najah was feeling some kind of way when she heard her brother recite his vowels to Yaz. So she took a chance to tell Nadro how she really felt even though he was engaged. Jah left the streets alone because he has a family now
I finally got around to reading the series. After reading this again, I still feel the same…
ARC Review 4/20/2023: Queen Jessica took us on one hake of a ride with this crew. Whew, Chil, the emotional roller-coaster, the heartbreak, the need to choke and shake some sense into folks, lbvs. Most importantly, the friendships, unbreakable family bonds, unconditional love, and the importance of seeking help for past hurt, loss, and trauma. Know that I have NOT read books one and two, but I was so invested in these characters, and outside of putting it down for work, school and mommy duties, my face was glued to my tablet, lol. My faves: Messiah & Tory, Shauka & Yaz❤️. I wanted Sariah to truly get more than that beat down from Najia🤷🏾♀️. Her and her dude were really out here doing Shauka like that guy, and his ain’t ish wife did Fantasia🤬. She knowingly went into a full-blown "relationship" with this man, knowing she was still in her current one just to gain access to his money to take care of the next ninja😳👀🤔. It's Tristen saying, "I ain't her ex, I'm her right now ni**a," then having ALL the receipts to back it up for me🤣🤣🤣. But at the same time, my heart broke for Shauka😔. That's what happens when we call ourselves settling and ignoring them red flags that are flying high. SHAUKA & YAZ: The love him and Yaz had for each other, man. I'll always believe the best lovers are the ones that start as friends and grow from there. These two had their issues, and I'm proud Yaz stood firm on her decision to leave until he dealt with his trauma. MESSIAH & TORY went through it. They were my favorite cause through it all they stayed true to each other. He made the sacrifice he made for his family but stayed firm in his decision to tell her she didn't have to. That man right there knew what he had in Tory and let it be known that he'd be selfish asf to not allow her to be loved and taken care of like she deserved cause he wouldn't be able to anytime soon. Tory tried, but Sis knew her heart, soul, and body belonged to Messiah, and I was glad she didn't go there with that guy. These two couples deserved a happy ending more than anybody else🤷🏾♀️ That JAH & FAYE🤦🏾♀️. These two played all day, and they needed some time apart. I was pissed that she continued to allow that bih Mia to have so much control over her relationship. She had every right to be mad and hurt by his betrayal, but if you say you forgive someone, forgive and take the steps to move past it. That toxic ish she was displaying, then to compare him to her ex😔. I don't blame him for walking away, even if he only did it to give her time to breathe and get her mind right. That ish almost backfired, but he went and got his girl🥰. The sacrifice he decided to make at the end of the book, shows his growth as a man❤️ Najia🙄 & Nardo😍. I DID NOT LIKE HER FOR HIM! Now let me say this, I empathize with her when it came to that trauma cause the Lord knows I still have triggers from mine. She didn't want help. She clung to it like a second layer of skin in and allowed it to dictate how she lived her life. She was selfish asf. Nardo was the man women like me pray for, read about, dream about. He gave of himself so effortlessly when it came to her. He was truly heaven sent, flaws and all. I hated that he didn't truly allow himself the chance to truly love and be happy with Laila. I guess the heart wants what it wants🙄. I wanted Najia to really witness the next woman benefit from everything she took for granted cause she fumbled that ish out of Nardo's heart🤬. I was happy that Najia finally got her ish together and got that help she needed. These couples have an amazing support team and really showed us that you have to hold yourself accountable for your screw ups. Tomorrow ain't promised to us, so live, laugh, and love while you can.
This was a nice wrap up of everything. At times I did find myself just wanting to be finished. But then it picked up and I was right back in it ! I’m happy that Jah stepped out of the game I think it was definitely time and him wanting to be able to be there for his daughter was amazing to see! Yaz and Shakura had a beautiful ending I love how this whole series showed therapy and just getting help in general in a positive light even though they were “street niggas” they still had real feelings and real feelings were to be dealt with. Tory got Messiah ass acting all the way correct and I love that for her and I love how he treats the kids she had previously as his own! It was about time Nardo was loved I felt so bad for him but understood that everyone dealt with trauma differently. I’m happy she got herslef together to get her man. Btw I loved Chloe!!! She was real the whole book and btw what ever happened to Mia and that damn baby?!!! Anyways This was awesome. 5 star series⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I lovvvvveeeee this series! Jah & Faye just had me all over the place I loved their ending, very good. Shauka & Yaz really did it for me too baby I thought he really was bout to lose it glad everything worked out after that 304 Sariah. Messiah & Tory is everything for me by book 3 they turned out to be my fav couple in the series I just love they storyline. Now Naija & Nardo LISTEN TO ME I don’t know how anybody else felt reading but I felt Naija through the screen okay all the trauma she went through then to find Nardo was the most beautiful thing because she more than derserved it. All in all this read was 10/10 per usual Ms. Watkins always serving that’s why she’s my fav storyteller.
I feel like I wanted more of Najia and Nardo, especially since she didn’t give him a real chance until the end. I’m proud of her for getting herself together first though. I’m happy for Jah and Faye. They went through it in every book. 😩 Messiah's growth was amazing. He’s not even the same person from book 1. Tory stuck beside him fa sho. Shauka was my fav from the beginning. I wanted him to get all his heart's desires. Although, I would say he couldn’t take the game being dished back to him. Sariah had him all messed up. Overall, it is a very good series that I would recommend.
Messiah really matured when he went to prison. I believed he loved it in prison with the way he was living. I’m so glad Tory didn’t sleep with that NFL player I really wanted things to work out with her and Messiah. Man for a minute there I thought Jah was going to die. Glad he made it but, I’m glad that him and Faye were able to work things out. Shaukah was losing it with all the things that was going on with the family and him having to run things while Jah was down. I’m just glad he got himself together for his family. Najia and Nardo even got there relationship straightened out.
If ever a family needed a happily ever after, this is the one. This family never's addresses the fact that they have problems and need help. I don't just mean talking about them, and not seeking help.I knew that Sariah was dirty and got exposed. Also Messiah steps up like a "Boss" and handles business.and I give a hat's off to Jah for saving his friend . Faye handles her problems and life a boss and serves a cold dish of "get back". Overall this was a fanstic story from the first book. I can't tell you any more without giving the juicy parts away. You are going to have to read.
I can't stop smiling. This was an emotional, funny, intense ride filled with love, trauma, pain, mental health, family, heartbreak, betrayal, forgiveness, growth, and overcoming ! But I loved every chapter of it ! I'm proud of the Disciple men and woman ! Life has a thing of getting in the way of of our plans and our destiny. But one thing about it and one thing for sure is that destiny is going to happen and in the right timing! We all deserve the deepest desires of our hearts and this book... it portrays that. It gives hope and longing that everything works out as it should !
2.5 ⭐️ The series started off with a bang but the more she wrote the more the words repeated and the story became excessive. 1100 words could have been like 6-700. I’m an advocate of writing a story with a few storylines and tidying them all up. Mia was introduced and then disappeared without a wrap to that story. Sariah was an intricate fixture in book 1 and 2 and then poof no wedding and she disappears. We get a detailed account of Jah’s fight with COVID but we skip 2 years and miss the work Shauka and Najia put in for their healing…..Glad they all got their happy ending but it really could have ended after book 2.

Not my favorite. Grammatical errors here and there. I know playas eff up but this author is too deep in the game to still have this amount of errors in a book. Its time for an editor or at the very least a new one. Story just wasn't good to me. I read this book because I'd read the first two but this is the end of the road for me and the disciples. Story was lackluster and underwhelming and I found myself not liking the characters this go around. Najia and Shauka drove me up the wall!
I absolutely loved this book. The growth of the Disciple siblings was awesome. It was good to see them come full circle as a loving family and grow into full relationships with the women that held them. The things that they endured during their childhood had lasting effects on their adulthood, but they were able to get the help that they needed to allow others into their lives. Well written series that was well written, flowed well, drama filled and kept my attention.
As a whole the series came together to make a decent read but yes it was a drawn out journey. And I know this will sound off to some but I didn't like Shakau and Yaz together at all! Maybe it was the way they were present as brother & sister and besties in the beginning or all the cheating on who we thought was a good woman or the way it took until book 2 to expose this woman but it felt like romanticizing two, sorry three toxic a** people. Yuck! Everyone was cheating in this book really 🧐 now that I think about it!
This series could've been cut down to 2 books. The books were way too long & drawn out. The characters annoyed the heck out if me. The sex scenes were long, boring and drawn out. A bunch of way too immature young adults calling themselves grown was ridiculous, factor in them being rich & disrespectful then you have a terrible read. I forced myself to finish the series in hopes it would get better but it didn't. I literally jumped ahead because it was that boring & predictable. I usually like Ms Watkins books but this was a waste of time!
I was so happy to read a series based on a family from my hometown. The Disciple siblings, Queen & Buck, and their extended family deserves happiness after the trauma they’ve all been through. I was going to cry if Jah didn’t go get Faye. My heart ached everytime for Najia, I’m so happy that she has a man like Nardo to show her unconditional love. There is no time limit on your healing journey.
Great job on this series to the author Jessica Watkins.
This book was so touching to me because in 2021 I was rushed to the hospital with Covid-19 double pneumonia and in septic shock and I had to get put in a coma and this book reminded me of what me and my family went through cause they definitely thought I wasn’t going to make it I had to learn how to walk and use my hands again so I can relate to everything that Jah went through I love this series especially this part
This was an exceptional end to the story of the Disciple siblings. There were many highs and lows and at one point I thought Jessica was going to end this series “a la” Tyler Perry and I was going to be LIVID! Thankfully that was not the case. Through the evolution of the siblings and their partners we were able to experience very relatable circumstances, and I was here for it all.
Good series. The typos and errors took away from and book 3 didn’t captivate me like the first 2. The skip around from “ 3 months later “ to “2 years later” made the feel rush. Lastly, the whole Covid storyline and forcing the vaccine agenda was unnecessary!!! The propaganda could have been left out and I hope gullible readers didn’t rush to get the vaccine because of a book.
This whole series was a page turner. I listened to part 1 & 2 on Audible; Part 3 wasn't up yet, so I had to go to Kindle to finish it up! I listened while I cleaned, washed clothes, put on airpods in Uber so I could listen, long car rides listened in the car.. every chance I got. Then I read with every break. Those Disciple brothers were uniquely and beautifully flawed. One moment I was going "really?!" yhe next I was going "awwww". Highly recommend!!
This was such a great series. Tbh the name really doesn’t give it justice. This series is deep. It deals with touching topics like loss, abuse, trust, love, trauma and healing. Yes, the siblings are in the drug game and they are rich but it’s so much more than that. Jay, Shauka, Messiah and Najia lose their parents at such a young age and its scar shows up in child differently.
This series got better with each book. After such a tragic start to their lives, it was wonderful to see the Disciple siblings’ lives come together in the end. This story was full of drama, and I loved every moment of it! Love, heartbreak, friendship, honor, and redemption were all key components that made the final installment the best in the series. I paced myself while reading because I knew this was it for the Disciples.
I’m so proud of Messiah, he truly grew into the mature man I knew he had potential to be. In this series he was one of my favorites as far as character development. I’m happy everyone was able to put their differences aside and come together. As, I read this series I feel like this could’ve been titled something else lol because yes the men were rich but the ladies were in their bag too hellooooo 😅
This was a rollercoaster of a series!! I'm so happy that these brothers ended up with their women and a HEA. These women were so strong in dealing with these brothers and my heart really went out to Faye who stuck by Jah's side while he was deathly ill knowing he could've possibly had a baby with her arch nemesis...that's some true unconditional love!
