We all remember our first holiday romance, right? The one we promised to write to every day and broke our hearts over when we returned home? That is exactly what happened with Katie and Leo. Only Katie and Leo promised if neither of them was married by the time they were 30, they would marry each other. On the day of Katie's 30th birthday, she receives an invitation to her own wedding! Having not seen each other for 15 years, Katie is surprised to find that Leo is no longer the sweet, caring, well-mannered boy she once knew. He is now a mafia don who wants to collect his debt.
A steamy romance with page turning plot twists.

The writing is amateur. Instead of decribing loud noises, the author just writes *boom*

He may have found her, but he lost me 🙃

DNF. This book was rushed and amateurish. I struggled getting past the grammar issues and typos. The simple writing style made it impossible to get into the storyline.

great idea, lazy execution. there’s no details, explanations, character relationships for the readers. reading this was getting whiplash with no illustration or narratives. it was rushed and lacked so much context and depth. wish the author took her time writing and allowing us into her imagination that she had for this book. she introduced us to events with no descriptions or purpose for us readers and the next page she was onto another place and part of a lacking plot.

Did the 5 star reviewers have a gun to their head?

Great idea, shitty writing and felt so rushed. There was so much that didn’t make sense, and the way they were talking was so childish - honestly I don’t rate books 1 star, and yet…

Katie had no personality, and couldn’t make up her mind most of the time - honestly what the fuck did I just read?

bruh

I actually have no idea what the fcuk I just read. There was a plot but it was very fast paced, left me with more questions than answers. I have no idea what that ending was. I didn’t like how all the sudden it was simultaneously first and third person pov in the end???? every time I think about this book I keep getting pissed that I read it tbh. But if you want an hour read this is the book apparently…perfect for the dmv

When I first read the concept for this book, I got excited because it's not one I've personally read before.

Then I read it. I was no longer excited.

Did an A.I. get fed an idea and then just word vomit this? It was so rushed! This reminds me of unedited fanfiction. Like, homie, did you not proofread before publishing? That may fly on Wattpad or Tumblr, but NOT in a professional setting.

This did absolutely nothing except add a book to my goal lmao. The epitome of “you have a smooth brain, no ridges or lumps”, the typos, the jumbled story line, the half asses spiciness. I’m good lol wipe it from my brain.

I was between 2 and 3 because the story had the potential for something good but overall it was rushed and in some scenes there were points that didn't make sense. Really disappointed. It could be a really good book with the necessary liftings.

Dear god, from spelling mistakes ("I don't like to be in dept to anyone..."), to characters acting unreasonable to the plot being just so so so bad, this book was awful start to... uh.. well not finish, but to 65%, which means I gave the book a fair shot in my opinion, but I just can't force myself to continue reading this just to complete it and then rate it 1 star anyway.

Chapter 2 starts out great with this paragraph:

My Leo. Let's swear to each other. If neither of us are married by age 30, we will marry each other. You promise? Because I promise you, I will find you, and we will be together forever.
Well, blow me done; it looks like He Found Me

I'd like to point out that those capitals in "He Found Me" (which is the name of the book if you missed it), are in the actual book . Like sorry, but which editor allowed that? It's so so so cringy when you make it that obvious in my opinion.

I also loved when Leo took Katie out for a meal. First just the look at who wants their table is enough for a random table to help the waiter clear their table. And then they order an appetizer, talk a bit and then before they can even order their main, they have to leave again, this all happens all in the span of 2 (kindle/phone) pages.

There were some scenes that were meant to be funny, but then got ridiculous because of the *sound effects*.

"Wrap up Kenny's leg; I don't want him bleeding all over the car or dying before we have a chance to speak."
"But Boss, Kenny is not bleeding."
*Boom*
"He is now."

Like, why does that feel like the script for one of those cringy TikTok videos??

Also, a moment that should be tense:

"Katherine, Let me in now!"
"No. Go away."
*Crash*
Leo kicks the door, breaking the lock, it swings open."

Anyway, if you are searching for a really cringy book with a terrible plot and awful flow, you've found it :p

I'm gonna say 3/5 for this book in general.
Let me start with this, the plot is top tier, great in fact, love it, love idea and all, but the writing... that's where you lost me.
The writing as a writing itself isn't bad at least not to me (i mean grammarly looking, English is not my first language take that in consideration, maybe im wrong here), but the way its written. It's rushed, it's like you said to yourself imma write this book in two days and be done with it which is not really good. There were parts in the book which were dragged like - talk with a waiter, or some not important to book and plot parts. While parts like that one when they sat at the porch. He smoked and she just sat next to him, for example that scene was described in like two sentences. AND I NEED MORE THAN THAT. I wanted to read how his body was radiating heat, how the smell of tobacco wrapped around them, how his fingers twitched to wrap around her thigh, how she couldn't help herself but to take secret glances at his face, SOMETHING. I NEED TENSION. AND THERE WERE BUNCH OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR THAT. The scene when they first met after she arrived in Italy. You know the one when he was behind her and he whispered in her ear that he found her. That scene, it had THAT tension but again it was cut short. IT WAS THERE BUT IN NEXT SECOND IT WASN'T. AND DONT GET ME WRONG IT WAS GOOD, YOU COULD LEAVE IT AT THAT, LEAVE IT SHORT, SIMPLE AND LIKE A TEASE, BUT THEN LATER DRAGG THAT TENSION. Again, I like the idea, love it infact, but between the story in author's head and the story that she put on a paper... some shit happened and it didn't... it's not good.

I don’t want to be mean with this review. And I had such high hopes with the book. I thought the premise of the book (he scares off all men and sends her a wedding invite to her own wedding on her 30th birthday) was really fun and I’d never read anything like that. Except the book made zero sense at all. There was no character development at all. And the writing was lazy and sloppy and I don’t even know how I made it through the whole thing. There was barely any descriptive writing. For example, a dog is alerting the MC that something is happening. And all we get from that is *barking*. Like???? It just felt like a very very rough draft. Also give the FMC a little backbone. She willingly shows up to Italy (even though she thinks it’s weird) and when MMC tells her they’re getting married she’s like welp this sucks but I’m not going to do anything about it and just let it happen. I’m going to complain about it, but at the same time try not to escape on my own. Idk guys don’t recommend, but props to the author for writing a book.

I decided to read this after watching a TikTok about the FMC being invited to her own wedding by the head of the Italian Mafia. But the simplistic style of writing, the glaring typos, and the plot all left much to be desired.

This is what I get for reading books recommended on TikTok…

I only had 1h 30min left, but I couldn't bear it anymore. This book was so incomplete in a way. Everything went by flying, and nothing did get resolved. Not even simple questions like "What do you want to drink?" were answered. It's so weird.
A sad dnf

Too many mistakes, even in the most simple sentences. It was so hard to get through the first three chapters that I gave up because of it.

I couldn’t sleep last night so I read this whole book instead lol. As usual, a great premise but very poorly executed. There was no detail and events would just suddenly jump around. One minute we are getting married, the next a bomb has exploded to fake their deaths? That whole event occurred in 3 or so pages with no explanation or detail into the process. One minute we have a lady who loves her career and the next she is a homemaker who dresses for her husband - so subservient I can’t deal. Additionally, the character changes are so severe with again no detail or development that it was annoying. The whole book felt rushed. Very easy read but not a book I will read again.

Okay the premise is so good, like it's what made me go "yes add to TBR" but the execution (yes I realize the pun it is in a mafia romance) didn't live up to the hype. Pacing was all over the place and many times felt really rushed. I wanted to love this but I was left feeling lost and disconnected from the plot.

Decent

It was a very simple and easy read, I finished in a few hours. Not too spicy. Overall the writing was very young adult. There were spelling errors and it was choppy. It was missing necessary transitions, details, and overall information to make it a truly realistic, captivating read. Overall, the book was just okay. I would not recommend or read again.

I DNF this book & I VERY rarely do that.
This book had such an interesting story line where she gets invited to her own wedding to her childhood sweetheart. But I was severely disappointed in the writing and editing of the book.

This book had a solid plot and story, but the execution was downright sloppy. Amateur writing, as others have mentioned, but this also means lots of room for improvement.

This is also the last time I listen to BookTok, I swear it.
