This delightful book captured my adult heart with its charm. I can envision my friend's niece thoroughly enjoying it, thanks to the endearing illustrations, poetry, and a wonderfully ridiculous plot.
This is a cute little series. I love the artwork, It looks like drawings mixed with pictures of textures. (Like the Lace looks like real lace, and background looks like textured cloth.) The books are sweet and have a nice moral. Little girls are going to love them!
My daughter really seemed to enjoy this story...probably because the main character was a little girl. When we got to the twirly parts she got all excited and said "don't twirl so fast or you will get dizzy!" Obviously this book was suspenseful to my child.
Pearly Platt hates dresses until she has to wear one to a wedding and it is great to twirl in. She saves the day at her aunt Wendy's wedding by using her new twirling skills.
