Early readers will enjoy the simple rhyming text and the close-up photographs of ladybugs. The large font size makes the book easy to read, and young readers will have fun collecting interesting facts such as the ladybug's habit of rolling over onto its back to fool enemies or the wings hidden by its hard shell covering. Finally, fans of collective nouns will be thrilled to know that several ladybugs would be called "a loveliness of ladybugs" (p. 24). This is a fun-filled, fact-saturated introductory science text.
