Faith Cook was born in China, the daughter of OMF missionaries, and now lives in Derbyshire. She is married to Paul, who served as a pastor in churches in Northallerton, Shepshed and Hull. They have five children and ten grandchildren. She is also the author of Lives Turned Upside Down, The Nine-Day Queen of England, Our Hymn-writers and their Hymns, Seeing the Invisible and Under the Scaffold.
Zachary Macaulay provided the abolitionist movement with accurate information for their campaign, collated the evidence collected by others, and drafted reports on slavery. He was also governor of Sierra Leone from 1794 to 1795 and 1796 to 1799.
Faith Cook's book is easy to read and provides an excellent introduction to the life of a man whose contribution to the abolitionist movement deserves to be remembered.
