Katya Waters has finally made peace with her past, but the present and future are becoming a never-ending nightmare.

At the end of Restraint, Katya fled back to her hometown, seeking solace from Ezra’s constant micromanaging while hiding from her true feelings over what had happened to her at the hands of the men she had grown to trust.

Before Katya can come to terms with the catastrophic events she had endured in Dominion, she is whisked away from the comfort of her safe haven. Never getting a moment to reflect before being thrust back to Dominion, Katya’s defenses are down. Ezra’s controlling and manipulative ways know no bounds when it comes to Katya and their daughter. Vulnerable and susceptible to his influence, Ezra forces Katya and Ava into The Edge Building’s fortress of a gilded cage, where Katya fears she will never get out.

Hanging onto her sense of self and moral code is difficult for Katya, as Ezra influences every aspect of her life, leaving her feeling powerless and lost as she falls deeper under his spell. Unsure where she fits into the lives of the men who impact her so deeply, Katya seeks direction from an unlikely source to regain her power.

Katya’s intuition screams that she is in danger, which is why she allows Ezra to keep her caged safely within the world of his creation.

…And then the threatening notes are delivered– written with the words only the monster ever whispered.

About the author

Erica Chilson

42 books438 followers
Erica Chilson does not write in the 3rd person, wanting her readers to be her characters. Therefore, writing a bio about herself, is uncomfortable in the extreme.

Born, raised, and here to stay, the Wicked Writer is a stump-jumper, a ridge-runner. Hailing from North Central Pennsylvania, directly on the New York State border; she loves the changes in seasons, the humid air, all the mountainous forest, and the gloomy atmosphere.

Introverted, but not socially awkward, Erica prides herself on thinking first and filtering her speech. There are days she doesn’t speak at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that she lives with her parents, giving her a sense of reality, she would be a hermit, where the delivery man finds her months after expiration.

Reading was an escape, a way to leave a not-so pleasant reality behind. Reading lent Erica the courage she gathered from the characters between the pages to long for a different life. Writing was an instrument of change, evolving Erica into the woman she is today- a better, more mature, more at peace thinker.

Erica has a wicked mind, one she pours out into her creations. Her filter doesn’t allow all of it to erupt, much to her relief. Sarcastic, with a very dark, perverse sense of humor, Erica puts a bit of herself into every character she writes.

Holy mind fuck, Batman! This one is definitely one I thoroughly enjoyed. I can definitely see the Flowers in the Attic V.C. Andrews influence on Ms. Chilson. This continuation of Katya's BDSM journey is awesome.

Katya is now in the arms of her lovers. Her daughter is no longer a secret and Katya is learning more about BDSM. She's exploring her Domme side. She's learning how a submissive behaves as well as how to be a good Mistress from Dexter. While this is going on, her rapist, Ray Hunter is let out of prison. Ezra goes off the reservation in protective mode when he finds out.

The BDSM and erotic scenes are smoking hot! I'm aroused by all the rough body play and possessive markings. The biting which involves some blood play is a complete turn on. The sexual tension is some of the best I've ever read. I'm instantly aroused and kept at a heightened state of lust. Ms. Chilson mixes in primal behavious in a sexy manner without the need of paranormal shifters or parahumans. She then adds in twisted family connections which are reminiscent of another much loved series - Flowers in the Attic. The amount of dominance exuding from this book makes me whimper and want to go straight down on my knees.

My domme switch side would never be flipped in the presences of these Mistress and Master of Restraint. I just want to submit to each of them. I don't need to be part of their family. I just want to be their toy. The Master of them all total rocks my boat. His favourite fetish is definitely something I can get into. Not only that, but I am actually in the category which makes me a bit more appealing to his preferred prey.

While this story does contain quite a bit of mentally unstable people as well as questionable behaviours, it's still a riveting read. I can see now why so many people are raving about this series. The erotic tension and testosterone overload makes any submissive weak in the knees. I want to read all of these stories. It's great to read a series from the point of view of the dominants instead of the submissive. Highly recommended for kinky readers who want to be arouse from cover to cover.

This second one was a really good story, a great continuation of the first. I was glad to see Aaron get settled with Kayla and for Cortez, Ezra, and Katya become more of a true trio. I thought Katya did amazingly well resisting Cortez and Ezra for so long based on their relationship status. It took long enough for them both to explain themselves! And I liked how Cortez and Katya would sort of work together to "manage" Ezra. I also liked that Katya embodied aspects of both Cortez and Ezra. And I liked that we saw more "sweet" Ezra in this one, instead of demanding, calculating Master Ez.

I figured out the "villain" early, but again, twists and turns in the story kept me wondering if I was right. I was glad to see well-deserved punishment on that one. And I was glad to see everything end on a happy note. Even Ray, who knew he had a problem, and then he turned a bad situation into a good one (or as good as it could be) for everyone involved.

The one thing I didn't quite "get" was I hear there's possibly another story coming to explain his involvement or his "thing".

As with the first one, there were editing issues. I think this one was cleaner than the first, but there were a couple of times my brain just stopped... what was that? wait, back up... which then breaks up the flow of the story for me.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

If this is a genre that you enjoy, then this book will blow your mind away - just make sure you read Restraint first, or you will miss out on whole chunks of the story.

I never like to talk about the actual plot in a review, because that is why you want to read the book - and in the case of this series, the plot is so complex and intricate that I would never be able to do it justice. What I will tell you is that the writing is first class, the characters are so vivid that you can reach out and touch them - in some cases you will be glad they can't reach out and 'touch' you, in others, well, not so much. There are more book boyfriends and girlfriends here than a person could justifiably desire, and yet as the series progresses, that is what transpires. Each one is crafted and brought into the fold in a wonderfully natural (well as natural as anything can be in Dominion) way, which makes for seamless reading.

It is a long book, but every word makes the story richer, and I could only imagine even wanting more from the talented Ms Chilson.

Unleashed

By Erica Chilson

Well not long after finishing book 1 in the series I started with this book. I was lusting for more information about how the Trio would work out. And let me just say it is not how I expected. Instead of jumping straight into let’s all heal and do group hugs, we got to see real and sometimes ugly emotions. The book delivered in a big way oh how one would react in these cases instead of the fantasy of ok we worked it out and everything is all sunshine and rainbows now. I totally love this author for this. She writes in a real and engaging way. I found that the characters continue to develop and it was not just a whole lot of waiting forever for it to happen. I can say that quickly my favorite character is Cort. He is unemotional unstable in all the ways that make him appear stable. I can’t wait to dig more into his story. I would say give these books a try but be forwarded for it is highly addictive and at times touchy matters. I however love Erica Chilson books.

Good Lord… this thing is sooooooo bad! The author misuses words, misspells words, some of the sentences literally make no sense, I mean… it's just… sooooo bad. Case in point: He cites incomparability as the reason for not marrying. Priceless. Here's another gem: I’m working from home for the unforeseeable future. Wow… Everyone sobs or whines constantly, everyone has tantrums & throws or breaks things, everyone is moody, everyone is insecure & jealous on a regular basis & these people black out alarmingly often & it's not from drinking either, although there is plenty of that as well. It's all extremely dramatic or a hot mess, whichever you prefer. Initially I thought Katya was the daft one but I realized that none of these people are very bright. But somewhere along the bludgeoning of the English language way it all just became hilarious. It's like a BDSM soap opera on steroids! I couldn't even begin to explain it; it's got the depth of a puddle, much like a soap but I can't say I wasn't entertained just probably not in the manner which the author intended.

I REALLY had to think on this one before I could write the review. I’m still dumbfounded over some of the things that happened in this book and the realizations I had!

This book is as dark and twisted as the first one. In some ways it’s lighter but in other ways it’s much darker and twisted than Restraint. I’m having a hard time deciding where to begin. So, I guess it’s to the beginning I go.

Unleashed picks up right where Restraint left off. While Katya is figuring how the new arrangements are going to work within her new family, a new threat is facing Katya. She already has so many things going on and then she gets hit with a threat.

I was engrossed in this book from the very beginning. I stayed up reading very late into the night trying to finish this book. Work gets in the way, so I have to wait to finish it (dang work!).

The characters in Restraint and Unleashed are messed up on so many levels. Their relationships are just as messed up. BDSM relationships depend on honesty. There’s too much at risk for them to NOT be honest. Miscommunication in BDSM relationships don’t just result in hurt feelings, it can result in injury, both emotional and physical. In Restraint and Unleashed, the keeping of secrets and withholding information is detrimental. Not everyone is on the same playing field. It creates so many problems!

I didn’t rate this one as high as Restraint for several reasons.

I felt the mystery of who was threatening Katya wasn’t much of a mystery. I figured it out VERY early in the book, so there wasn’t the same tension for me as if I hadn’t figured it out. I’m not 100% sure why it was so easy for me to figure out.

Even though I had some issues with Unleashed, I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan on reading the rest of the books part of the Mistress and Master of Restraint series.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Katya is back in Dominion with her daughter Ava, living with Ezra and Cortez. The people of Dominion who are excessively rich, lacking in morals and pretty much think they can do whatever they like. They are nothing like Katya who is moral, hard working and independent.

Kat's struggle to fit in and feel accepted in Dominion and in Ezra's life, was the part of the story that I really connected with. It ripped my heart. Cortez, Eztra and our Master of the Universe manipulate Kat, turning her fears and concerns back on her and I wanted to strangle these men. It was torn between wanting Kat to get her HEA, and wanting her to kick them all in balls while telling them to shove it.

During Unleashed Katya trains to become a Mistress of Restraint with Dexter as her teacher. During this time we get to meet the other Mistresses and Masters of Restraint and each of them is fascinating and I look forward to learning more about them in future books.

I spent the last week with Katya, Cortez and Erza with their unusual lives and unconventional romance. I became so immersed in the story I was dreaming about it. Unleashed is a fantastic book that I happily got lost in. I eagerly await the release of Dexter's story.

--Review for updated/revised version April 2015--

Unleashed is the 2nd book in the series Mistress & Master of Restraint, it's the continuation of Katya Water's story and begins exactly where Restraint left off. If you enjoy a little BDSM with twist of mental manipulation, or straight up mind-f**kery - THIS SERIES IS FOR YOU!
Follow along on Katya's journey down the rabbit hole of Dominion, NY. She's not alone on this journey (far from it), and is just finding her place in this new-crazy world. Join her host's and guides Ezra Zeitler and Cortez Abernathy as the three explore the difficult road as a triad.
I will say that this is a slippery slope, and all are tested at various times -together and separately.
An amazing journey, with ups and downs, twists and turns, trials and tribulations - I could NOT put this down. The erotica is HAWT, the mind-f**kery is extensive, and the characters are just so complicated.
I can NOT wait to see what Ms.Chilson comes up with next for this cast of characters: I want to know what Dexter's motivations are, who Marcus is, what is up with Queen - I want to know EVERYTHING.

Okay, I feel like I want to give this book three stars, but I liked it better than the first one (Erica Chilson- Restraint, which I gave four stars. So... yeah, I don't know.

First of all, I read this because "Restraint" just COULDN'T end where it did. For realz, I bought this one like 0.00001 seconds after I finished the first. And I'm glad I did, because it both continued and wrapped up the story pretty damn well.

I don't like summarizing books or writing spoilers in reviews. So, here's what I've got. The characters in this book are this wonderful mix of hella-depressing and completely spunky and likeable. These little mysteries are woven in (for the most part) very well, and it keeps you hanging on until the very end. There is dark, sadistic beauty to everything and everyone which makes you really feel for some of these characters.

I do feel that there were a few too many plots going on. A slower pace might have had a bit more of an impact, emotionally. I think this was my main gripe about the books - if you can even call it that.

Anyway, if you're down with the BDSM and the dark shit, then check them out. I completely devoured them. AND I know I will go on to Dexter's story at some point. Don't know why, but I really liked that guy.

This story picks up where Restraint leaves off. Kat has come to terms with her past, maybe. But she has Ezra and Cortez to help her trough it. Along with Ava, her daughter with Ezra and Arron, Kayla, Queen, Marcus and a little extra help from Dexter. She will learn who her real family is and what family means. Someone is sending hate letters, or one line notes, and she is trying to figure it out by herself but she is too emotional at any given time. But who wouldn't be. She was raped, had a child and has tried to move on with her and her daughters lives. Until she was back with Ezra and Cortez, now her life almost feels complete. This story has all you look for in an erotic love story.
If you are not into reading BDSM then this series is NOT for you. But if you enjoy a good story line with BDSM, love, betrayal, lust, hatred, intrigue and even a wedding, then this is the series for you. Mistress Erica Chilson has become one of my favorite authors in this genre. Hope you give this series a chance, I loved it.

I had the priviledge of receiving a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review of the revised book. I had never read this series before so I wasn’t sure what was in store for me.
This story is not for the faint of heart, This is an intense mindfuck worth reading!
I thought that Restraint was great, but holy shizzballs Unleashed is incredible!
Ezra who is the master manipulator, has worked his skills once again
And now has Katya, and her daughter with him back in Dominion. Katya, is still reeling in
with all that she has learned and is working hard to come to terms with everything.
Here I thought the sex was hot in the first book, it’s like throwing c4 and watching the explosion
That’s how explosive the sex is in this story. This story is on a deeper level than the last, but no less
Intense. The relationships drew me in and I couldn’t quit reading as I had to know what would happen next. I look forward to reading the rest of this series once the author finishes revising them.
I highly recommend if you are interested in dark erotica.

No, I quit this series, I tried, it just gets more disturbing. ***SPOILERS*** The rape theme is so disturbing in this series. She was raped, he was kidnapped with two of his male friends, one of which is his lover and life partner (except they are not gay or bi?), he was forced to rape her by his kidnapper (among many other disturbing things), twelve years later they are in love (him, his partner and her), but neither can be her Dom because she is too strong a person, so he allows his STEP FATHER to be her Dom (who btw gets off on his partners fearing him and fighting back) while the three of them are in a committed relationship together...but it all just feels so right. I call BS it sounds like a desperate need for some serious therapy. WTF this entire series is bothersome on so many levels. Done.

5 Unleashed Stars!!!!

I love Kat, Ezra, and Cort!
This story continues where Restraint left off. We get to see the love grow within the "three," it's beautifully twisted! :-)
Katya is training to be a Mistress by the SADIST Dexter. (Yummy)
To say Katya's initiation was H.O.T. is a understatement. WOW!
WE also find out who the Mistress and Masters are. Including the Master of the Universe, I was shocked and blown away. The events with this said MASTER, no words!
I'm still confused about Adelaide, the bi*ch is crazy! Ray Hunter too.
There's still alot of mystery and plot to unfold, keep reading, playing the game!

Next on the menu- Sexy Sadist Dexter! <3

I absolutely loved Restraint and couldn't wait to follow the story of Katya, Ez, Cortez and extended family.

However this one just got a bit 'out there' for me. Masters of masters, the giving of each other to each other, and the entire family dynamics were just a bit too bizarre.

While I did enjoy this book, at the moment, I am unsure if I will continue with the series or not.

The second story in the Katya Waters saga is just as intriguing and passionate as the first. One might assume that after the ending of Restraint that we're just following up to a happily every after, but with this group of people I don't think there's any such thing.

With an even deeper look inside each character and what makes them tick, along with a nasty mystery Unleashed pushes the boundaries of the mind, and reels you back in just as solidly as a cane across the back.

Erica Chilson shows a deep insight into the world of BDSM and explores all the angles! Waiting very impatiently for the next installment!

I guess the one thing I have to say is screw normal. Screw what other people think and live your life as you want. That's exactly what Ezra, Cort, and Kat do.

I LOVE LOVE this series. I can not wait to read more. Mmm...Dexter is next. Talk about yum!

I did call the Kat's stalker and "the Master of the Universe", but hey, it was fun watching Kat figure it out.

Can I be included in the sharing thing? Seriously. HAWT! Again I read this in one sitting the day after Restraint and I still wanted more. I love how Aaron found his way and is happy. I love the epilogue too. <3

I will state right from the start, I have read this series multiple times. This was at least my fifth read of it as I re-read them before the next book comes out to refresh. I was hooked on this series from the start, but it has evolved into so much more than I ever expected. Yes, some of the initial aspects are frustrating as hell, but stick with the story and see if you're surprised later on. These two books so far are just the foundation to an intricately woven twisted universe of epic proportion. The character development is mind blowing across the series and the author excels at changing perspective and having the reader see each character from different sides. I am blown away after this read because I now have an even broader perspective of these characters from future books and looking back on this part of the timeline was a maddening experience I was not expecting. The frustration, anger, disgust, and devilishly delicious moments were amplified for me. I even noticed so much more foreshadowing than ever before. Overall, this isn't for everyone, but if it does spark your interest even a little bit, keep going, this is just a piece of the puzzle.

Katya and Cortez and Ezra, Oh My! This book starts up where the last one ended and takes the reader on a wild twisted ride. There is more background on everyone's past and getting to know a little bit more about the other Mistresses and Masters of Restraint. Some parts had me cringing, some parts had me panting, and some parts had me shaking my head in disbelief. Just when I thought that I had everything figured out the story would take me by surprise. I'm kicking myself for not reading this series sooner and can't wait to read more about Dexter in the next installment.

Wow , Just Wow. Erica has done it again with Unleashed in the second book of the Master & Mistress of Restraint series.

Unleashed follows on from Restraint ( must read to understand book 2), Katya now finds herself and now her daughter back in Dominion after interference from Ezra. She is still coming to terms with her feelings about the two Ez'es in her life and what they both want, mostly her feeling and reactions to Ezra's manipulations.

As she tries to deal with Ezra, she decides to move forward and to learn to be a Mistress so she goes to Dexter, Master Sadist at Restraint. As she learns more about herself as a Mistress she also learns about her submissive side and what it means to be in control of others. She also comes under attack from outside forces and as they discover that Ray has been released. katya and Cortez also decides to shield Ezra for his benefit.

There is also the growth of Aaron as he moves aside and into his own relationships. The sad and happy of that also shows up and it's marriages, babies and hope in this visceral work of art.

The story progresses like a tapestry, parts unveiled bit by bit , but there is always more to the story, something deeper under the pretty. Family connections, vicious revealings, tangled emotions, fucked up love , mental manipulations all come into play in this book. Unhappy truths are revealed and it seems like that HEA we are hoping for may be a lot harder to reveal.

This is a book that i will have to re-read to put all the players and the connections and to get the underlying nuances at play here. I can't wait as Erica pushes out the revised editions of her next book.

**** Warning, this book also contains rape flashbacks that may be a trigger for some. Also contains high quantity of multiple partner sex scenes.***

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Awesome!! Awesome!!

Honest to god Best Series Ever!! I loved this follow up to Restraint. Excellence at its best. Erica Chilson is absolutely amazing! Wow what an imagination. I wrote more on my review to Restraint...so have a look. Best books ever!
I loved how anything goes...what a sensually erotic book. My eyes were on fire and my face on flames from all the sexual acts but the author wrote everything so well that I couldn't stop. I needed to keep going to find out what happens. Simply amazing. I have read the first 4 books so far and they are all fantastic. They each pick up where the other left off. I honestly couldn't put them down!

SPOILER ALLERT:

Don't read this if you don't want to know.

The only issue I had with this book was the Ezra and Cortez balance. In the first book the author had us fall in love with Ezra completely! We see him as a hot, mysterious, strong, alpha male in control. However as this book moves on the balance kind of shifts. I didn't like this. I felt Ezra was put on the back burner and his character was diminished. He became flimsy, weak and not the hotness I craved. Katya became more so focused on Cortez in a way and we sort of lost touch with Ezra. I felt this could have been dealt with differently. She could have brought Cortez into the triangle without losing Ezra's character. I certainly hope in the future books that we start to see Ezra again as the man he was to start with...Strong, Alpha, mysterious, Hot, in control, his presence known. Please come back to us Ezra!
