I chose this book because I like to read thrillers. This gives me more motivation to keep reading. Usually, this kind of books are also so exciting that I am drawn into the story.
In addition, the book had a nice cover and the color caught my eye. My favorite color is blue and the pages in this book are also blue. This also influenced my choice.
Also, I had read the summary on the back of the book and thought this was an exciting story and the title “Two can keep a secret” is based on the title song of my favorite series on Netflix. This is an extra reason why I wanted to read this book.
The appearance of the book looks mysterious and since this book does not look like most books. That’s why I had high expectations before I started reading. On the other hand, I expected that this book was going to be the stereotypical American story of a homecoming queen being murdered, but this was not the case at all.
The book itself I found very good. You stayed in suspense until the end of the book. And the story itself was also not predictable.
The author also used alternating perspectives which gave us a different view of the story each time.

Ellery moves and attends a new school Echo Ridge. Her aunt went missing here and was never found. There is a plot twist at the end of the book. This one I did not see coming. Afterwards, I was momentarily shocked by what I had just read. This makes me want to read Karen McManus' other books.

Novel ini lumayan tebal karena di dalamnya mengandung banyak sudut pandang yang menyebabkan alurnya terbilang lamban

Aku suka romance tipis-tipis di buku ini, bikin aku ikut senyum tapi malah trust issue karena takutnya ketika mereka lagi jatuh cinta malah ketauan siapa pembunuh Simon

Novel ini juga bikin aku tebak-tebakan, asumsi sendiri, soalnya plot twist novel ini terbilang ketebak ga ketebak karena aku udah nyangka kalau ternyata 'itu' tapi agak ragu.

Kesimpulanya, aku suka gaya Karen deskripsiin segala plotnya, walau alurnya agak lamban dan halamannya lumayan banyak tapi gak akan kerasa sih karena aku ngerasa ikut sekolah di Bayview saat baca ini.

I’d seen these books everywhere I went and I thought nothing of them…until my friend gave me the first one to try. I’ll admit it’s not my first choice of book and I’m not one for ‘jumpy’ books but oh my lord I couldn’t put this down!

For me it started slow and then like an express train it picked me up and carried me to my destination…the end. You never knew what was coming, was always guessing is it her? Is it him? No it’s that person and wrong each time!

Definitely worth a read if you haven’t already!

I jus finished reading One of us is lying and I’m definitely rating it a 4,5 stars. This book is everything I could’ve hoped for as a murder mystery with a romance subplot. I love the character development of all the characters, my favourite probably being Addy. I loved reading and being able to guess and try to figure out what happened along with the characters.
This book was also the very first book I annotated! And It made the reading process a lot of fun (although a little slower). I’m very happy with my purchase and read of this book 👍

I don't read translated books much, but this book is so amazing that I didn't sleep until I finished it. I thought Simon had committed suicide, and for three days I was thinking how he did it. Until I found out, but I'm sure all of my readers of the book, myself included, didn't expect what Jake did.
I want to say that the book is the pinnacle of magnificence, juveniles, details and suspense, right down to the lowest notes. Thank you Karen for adding a book with a wonderful story to my life.

I loved the first book "one of us is lying" I couldn't put it down. The following books weren't as good as the first but still kept me questioning, thinking, and wondering all books were suspenseful. The writing style is what caught my eye I loved how the author wrote these books and would recommend them to anyone who loves crime.

Read this as it is simlar to a good girls guide to murder and wow! Unanswered parts of book one and two all get revealed in book three it was a nice small town series with many shocking plot twists if you like mystery with a bit of romance this is a must to your TBR!!
