Everyone is born, but no one is born the same. Some will grow to be nurses, or teachers, or Sunday school preachers. Some will only be really good at making a absolute shit show of everything they touch. One way or another, though, every human being is different, for better or like me….for worse.” My name’s Matilda Montegello aka Tillie- and my father is president of the Predators Bane MC. He found me two decades ago when the club got word of several children being housed like dogs and took me in like the stray I was. He’s raised me as part of the club, like a patched member only I get about a third of the respect, but shits hit the fan in the most dangerous way for the club and he expects me to fall in line like a good little soldier. I never wanted to be anyone’s savior, especially when I couldn’t even be my own. People like me, the dark, the twisted; We’re not heroes, we hide in the shadows making our way through life one day at a time. But like the saying goes; All good things come in small packages… Like sticks of dynamite. Honestly being named after a childhood movie where good triumphs evil and everyone lives happily ever after isn't that bad. My own private war is being waged in my heart, its either my family or my dignity. But I draw the line at being delivered to these assholes with a red bow in my hair.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I absolutely loved it. The twists and turns throughout the book kept me on the edge of my seat. I seriously couldn't put the books down. I loved Tillie and her men. They each brought out something different in her. They allowed her to be however she wanted. I don't think I could have pick just one myself if I had the choice. This is the first time I've read a RH book that was MC related and I have to say I absolutely loved it. I seriously wanted more at the end. I would seriously recommend this book to anyone who likes MC books with a RH twist.
Amazing read. loved diving into the traitorous world of the predators Bane MC. Tillie would do anything for her club, but she also wants a life of her own, fighting her own battles, living her own life, but when her personal life, gets in the way of club life, more than tears are spilt. Blood flows freely, those of her enemies and those who she loves more than herself. Tillie although an adult has much growing up to do in this book and you really can see the character progression in action in this book. Loved this read and I hope there are more books from this world.
I liked the premise of the story. Tils is an intriguing character and I liked seeing the different facets of her character come out. I liked her guys as well. I think the big thing for me was that the story needed more growth. A lot happened in a short amount of time and it felt rushed. I definitely would have enjoyed a longer book. Overall I'm glad I read it and wouldn't mind reading another story in that world.
B. Having been an avid fan of this author for a couple of years, I have to say, this is by far her best work yet. JL, you're ROCKING it. I can't give you enough props for this book!!!
I'm giving this a 4.5 because of content and storyline. It's really got a lot of promise for more to come. I loved the concept behind the story. It is a page turner that kept my interest. The twists, turns, secrets, revelations, action and suspense all make this an exciting read.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a fast paced standalone RH romance. I think there were a couple inconsistencies, but overall a great story. I’ll definitely read more from this author.
One of the best book I've ever read! I'm honestly sad that I finished it. JL Hallow is so descriptive that it's like a movie real playing in my head as i read. I can't wait to see what she writes next!
