LIVE LIVES OF PURPOSE AND SUBSTANCE In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the Lord told me, "I'm going to show up big this year!" How so I thought? The world is a mess! But in late December, a divine appointment at a wedding occurred where a lady I didn't know said that I would write a book about raising boys confirming what the Lord had already put on my heart. As I began writing this book my heart shifted from raising boys to that of challenging dads. Early through my manuscript the word "DADVOTED" was revealed to me and not only the book, but brand DADVOTED was formed. My heart for this book is to challenge all dads regardless of what stage they find themselves in faith and fatherhood to evaluate their priorities and redirect where needed to fully live out their purpose as a dad, husband and leader. KEVIN GOODNIGHT resides in the suburbs of Houston with his wife Keeli, their two boys Keaton (12) and Kort (10), their dog Zoey and bunny Simba. They met their freshman year at Baylor University and lived in Sacramento for eight years before moving back to Texas in 2013. Kevin has made his career in the flooring business in various leadership capacities and is currently the General Manager of Redi Carpet in Stafford, TX. In 2020, Kevin's journaling turned into a calling to write, which morphed into a focus and passion for challenging Dads. The brand and LLC DADVOTED was created in 2022 and this book will be his first published piece, though he is currently working on two other writing projects. You can learn more by searching DADVOTED on all major social media sites or by going to www.dadvoted.com.
Recommend to not only men but women also- From one author to another
First of all I wanted to say that Kevin and is family are very genuine and strive to live each day walking in Gods footsteps, living with intention and purpose. It has been an honor to meet them and walk along side them as an author as we both share the same passions.
His book is a must read with easy to follow chapters that each have a savory touch point or word for growth specific idea.
Two chapters that really stood out to me reading as a mom and wife. I loved the idea of creating a plaque for each child with a scripture of blessing to pray over each child daily, to speak lifelong blessings into their lives.
The second one was the chapter on having open dialogue about speaking to them about their future potential spouses. I read that chapter with my husband and encouraged him to lead the prompt on teaching our son how to think about his future spouse and family. I love how it puts the main focus on Jesus and faith as a non negotiable when dating and thinking about their future. I think it gave my husband the knowledge and confidence to take the lead for initiating this conversation.
Just meeting Kevin and his family inspires you to want to read the book!
