He’s not just attractive, kind, and self-aware. He’s also my boss, and my dead father’s best friend.
I had been running from my past, thinking that connecting with my family in Florida was what I needed to find myself. Instead, I’m at a funeral and being gifted shares of a company I didn’t even know existed.
Some office flirtation turns into longing, which turns into desperation for one another. When our tension reaches its peak, it’s clear we can’t hold back this attraction, and it nearly feels too good to be true. A man who’s not only eager to please but willing to learn what excites me.
I’ve always wanted someone who wanted to take care of me, and it seems like Aiden Carlson is more than eager to let me call him daddy. I just hope our secret office romance or the past I’ve been running from doesn’t ruin the best thing I’ve ever had.
Sarah Blue is a USA Today best-selling author of paranormal, omegaverse, and contemporary romance. When she isn’t writing you can find her nose buried in a book or picking up a new craft she probably won't finish. She lives in Maryland with her husband, children, and two cats.
This started pretty good as a dad's best friend romance who was also your boss. I really liked how the heroine just got out of a romance with her professor and was doing some soul searching by getting to know her biological dad more, only to arrive after he passed away. She inherited shares of his company and his cottage, so she sticks around to work at his company and for his best friend. My only problem with this one, though, is that it didn't really feel like there were that high of stakes in their relationship and they got together sooo quickly. Half of the book was just them being together and exploring their relationship which was more boring than anything for me. It didn't feel super taboo or forbidden, so I didn't love it as much as I wanted to.
10000/10. This was!!!! SO GOOD. I loved loved loved every second I spent reading this story. Sarah Blue never disappoints and this is the second book I read by her and yes, TENS ACROSS THE BOARD. °˖✧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚✧˖°
I dare say I loved this more than Praise. Aiden is definitely IT. He's so caring, wants the best for Jessa, and gives her everything in such a healthy and romantic way. This relationship is SO HEALTHY AND CUTE AND CONSENSUAL AND EVERYTHING!!! They are always communicating, when they want something, when they don't want something, etc. They put their cards on the table as soon as they decide to start something, because they don't want to feel at odds during the relationship. Jessa loves attention and wants affection ALL THE TIME. So Aiden is like alright, you will never doubt I want you with me. And follows through. I LOVE THAT! ♡
More things that you might want to know about this book: ♡ no third-act breakup ♡ low on angst and it's more about seeing the relationship develop than a big obstacle getting in their way tbh ♡ daddy kink ♡ age gap (she's 25 and he's 39) ♡ workplace romance ♡ he's also her dead father's best friend/business partner ♡ public sex in a kinky club
It was really good and I recommend it to everyone who loves romance books! They have the bets dynamic and Aiden is hers since day one, no doubt about it. I definitely want to read the next one because oh boy it's about to be FORBIDDEN TO THE MAX IN HEREEEE.
Swallow Your Pride is the first contemporary romance by Sarah Blue, and from the first chapter it was obvious that this was a match made in heaven. Sarah’s writing style, witty humor and scorching hot smut are the perfect recipe for a contemporary romance.
Add Daddy Kink sprinkles all over it and boom, you got yourself a 1 star Michelin worthy meal.
The chemistry between Aiden and Jessa was so intense, even in their first scene together, the way these two were attracted to each other was insane.
The book has one of the most unique openings I’ve read in a while. Jessa is attending her biological father’s funeral, but she barely knew him. And the tension with her half brother and widow was awkward af. Until Aiden, her bio dad’s best friend, showed up to help her through that tough moment. Even then, when they were still strangers, he took care of her.
And that shows how well developed this romance was. It just made so much sense! This is a small town, secret office romance, with a reasonable age gap and the sexiest daddy kink.
The way Blue introduced the sex club and their mutual affinity to certain kinks was also very clever. Overall, it was a really well plotted book and it shows in the perfect pace and all the elements surrounding the couple that made this even more interesting.
Like the secondary characters.
Aiden has three brothers. Lincoln and the twins Ben and Gavin.
I’m kind of obsessed already with Lincoln and all the stupid shit he did in this book. His self-destructive tendencies were like a flame to a moth for me lol Throughout the book you get the feeling that something is going on with this human disaster and when you finally figure it out… 🤯
Needless to say, I. NEED. THE. NEXT. BOOK.
The twins were hilarious but I can’t wait to see them suffering for love 😈
Then there’s Penny, their cousin and Jessa’s new best friend at the office. Penny is hilarious and the voice of reason. I won’t say more because I want you to experience the book in its fullest but her plot line…? Chef fucking kiss. OBSESSED.
But going back to the main course.
Aiden is probably my favorite Daddy to date. Blue has the best take on Daddy Kink I’ve ever read. Her Daddies love to take care of their baby girls. They are caring and nurturing. They are always rich af, which for a Daddy is key let me tell you. And they love to spoil their baby girl. There’s nothing sexier than a Daddy giving his credit card to their girl and you know it.
Blue knows how to play with all these elements of the Daddy Kink and interlink them with soul deep emotions. These fuckers made me feel things. This is one of the most “romantic” romances Sarah Blue has ever written. These two fall for each other so hard, and it’s beautiful to see 🥲
The smut in this one… 😮💨 This MF romance has kinkier and more “shocking” smut than many books branded as such. I’m still processing. These two are kinky af and I couldn’t be more into it. From exhibitionism in the sex club, to secret hook ups in the office… you’ll need a few moments while reading this!!
Considering this is called the Carlson Brothers series, I need the next book NOW and it better be about my favorite idiot Lincoln or I’ll riot.
This was super sweet and smutty but it was lacking for me. I was not invested in their relationship at all. It seemed to happen too quickly and it was too simple. There was no tension or any other emotion from them besides what felt like forced, tooth-aching, sweetness. It was just boring to me but here wasn’t anything in particular I didn’t like so three stars.
I honestly don't know how to rate this because, on one hand, this was pretty cute, the smut was hot and the two main characters were amazing; their chemistry was stellar and in the whole bookish romance scenario they were definitely healthy relationship goals.
On the other, while I've had fun, the insta-love was too insta for my likings and, all things considered, this didn't make a big impression. It was, unfortunately very forgettable despite it being well written and despite the romantic dynamics.
I’m not okay. And I’ll never recover. This book has me lost for words in the best way. The amount of times I screamed, teared up, giggled like a weirdo and inaudibly gasped was excessive… but very necessary.
This ones a lowkey tearjerker and damn are they the best books!! Jessa’s dad never wanted her. He left her with her distant mum to be with his own family. With his death she moves to his hometown to collect her share from his will. And what does a girl with severe daddy issues do? Obviously find a new daddy and FUCK ME AIDEN IS A DADDY 😮💨😮💨
The way he takes care of her has me ferel!!! The TENSION AND THE SPICE!! Unmatched. The CUTEST small town vibes and the sweetest bff she makes just screams cozy! I mean until they hit the kink club and then cozy goes out the window 🥵
The small little things Aiden does for Jessa destroys the standard of real life men for real! Like the bar is in space at this point.
First it started out decent and I wan intrigued. I especially love the whole age-gap thing obviously, but then as it went on it just started getting worse. She is just so whiny in her thoughts. Everything was so repetitive and just pretty cringey. I liked the premise that this story offered, but it didn’t deliver and I was kind of sad about that. I wanted to love it, but sadly I was sorely mistaken.
Dnf 50%. This was building nicely with some delicious age gap and workplace tension brewing away then the have a long and excruciating chat about their sexual preferences that killed that tension stone dead. I didn’t realise it was a bdsm secret sex club book or I wouldn’t have picked it up, tbf I usually find them tedious. Moving on.
Swallow Your Pride was all the things promised. A forbidden age gap romance. There’s an office romance. There’s some biological family angst. Oh and plenty of “Daddy” spicy times, BUT there’s also this sweet love story where two people who shouldn’t (by some opinions) work together, but they do so well. Jessa and Aiden meet right when they need each other. Like truly they are exactly what the other person wants in life. Jessa’s need is a little more visible than Aiden’s, but the way these two just are there for each other, build each other up, and mesh so well it was sweet to read.
As someone who isn’t into the “Daddy” skink despite my many issues with my donor, I found that it wasn’t overwhelming here. I’ve read some books where I’m like, yeah this is too much for me, but I think Sarah balances it being true to the characters likes/desires without overwhelming readers who aren’t necessarily fans of the skink. I think it’s easily readable by anyone looking for a forbidden age gap romance, so don’t turn away at the word “Daddy!”
Overall this was an entertaining read. Truly the perfect blend of forbidden tropes and sweet romance!
The writing is offensively bad. It’s like a 6th grader trying to write erotica. Premise was interesting enough (forbidden romance trope, age gap etc) but it’s so poorly developed and honestly painful to read. The fact that nothing has been made of the 15 year age gap really says something. DNF
Lorddddddf did I melt when I was reading this on the plane looking over my shoulder? Hopefully, that guy was getting some notes from Daddy Aiden!!
Soft possessive sweet man is what Aiden is!!! He, like everyone else, just found out their friend had a secret child. That's how he met Jessa. Even if it was a rough time for her, he made sure she was taken care of. Got her a job at the company and tried to keep things friendly even if he felt some sorta way about her. But you can't go after your dead best friends daughter no matter how hot she is.
Plus, her father just died, and Jessa is dealing with her estranged brother who hates her guts and a ex boyfriend who won't take no for an answer.
No ow drama/Om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins

Jessa has had a rough life, and meeting Aiden was just what she needed. I loved that all Aiden wanted to do was take care of her needs and wants. She doesn't have to ask; he just spoils her, and that is something she never really had. Her last relationship was crap, and he never let her be herself. I love how protective Aiden was of her; he knew that she had been through a lot and just needed someone to show her the real meaning of love.
I need to just say that every single book with a daddy kink, I’ve DNFd before this book. I don’t ever want to kink shame but many books I’ve tried, it was too cringy for me personally to read about it.
HOWEVER, Sarah Blue was able to describe this kink so well that I understood it. I got it. And it works in this book, Swallow Your Pride. I freaking loved it!
This book showed so much communication and consent and a healthy power exchange within the relationship between Jessa and Aiden.
Jessa has an estranged father who died and through the funeral meets her late fathers partner of a successful sports equipment wholesaler company. That’s Aiden. A gorgeous ex-baseball player and…. Her new boss.
This is a spicy secret office romance, Scenes in a BDSM club, Voyeurism and exhibitionism. Anal play. 🍑+ 🔌 Stalker Soft dom/submissive daddy kink/good girl 💦 swapping and spanking
Swallow Your Pride is about Jessa who is coming out of an unhealthy relationship that wasn’t healthy within the BDSM boundaries. She realized that and set her priorities straight with Aiden and this swoony man treats her like a goddess. They click so well with their desires and the romance just blooms.
“Be a good girl and drench Daddy’s pants.”
“I want you full of my cum and wearing a butt plug all day.” “Are you going to wear this all day? My cum and plug in your ass?”
“Look at you taking Daddy’s cock on all fours. You should see this ass.”
While it’s dirty and spicy, it’s also a sweet romance within two people who found eachother that are literally perfect for one another. Like they were soulmates and the death of a family/friend brought them together for a reason. It’s a feel good romance. With a ton of sex. 😂
There’s no doubt Sarah writes great smut. She has been pumping books out like crazy and I’m always excited to pick them up. This is her first contemporary romance and while I liked it, I didn’t love it. It was hot but I wanted more of an emotional connection. It took me forever to finish because, frankly, I was bored and kept putting it down.
MF// daddy (like a lot of daddy)// praise// voyeurism// forbidden// dad’s best friend, etc.
Sarah Blue… GIRL! The Carlson brother’s duet was one of my favorite reads. They can be read as stand-alones.
“That we can have this cosmic effect on each other is something I didn’t know existed.”
Unlike the other book “Swallow Your Pride”, this wasn’t very “angst-y”. It was more about seeing a relationship build and play out, which I loved! Their relationship is so healthy and trusting, and it was honestly very refreshing since I’ve been stuffing my brain with dark romance!
This book has one of the best takes on a Daddy kink that i’ve read so far! Aiden is so obsessed with Jessa, but in a non-creepy, very healthy way! “It’s like my body knows where she is at all times.”
Almost 4 stars because I hate the sex club shit, but it wasn’t too bad in this book actually. I have to give it five stars though because I loved the h. She’s not your typical I don’t need a man stay away from me h. She was so sweet and went after what she wanted and didn’t let anything make her feel bad for wanting what she wanted, which is to be loved and taken care of
This is an arc review but all opinions are my own.
Wow did this book deliver. On paper it has everything I love and I knew I loved this authors writing style but I thought it would be too good to be true. This book was just perfect. It had low angst while still having burning tension and NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP, Praise the book gods! This showcased such a healthy relationship both sexually and not. It was nice to see some clear communication between the two mc’s without any stupid back and forth.
I can’t wait to read more of this series and I have a pretty sure idea who the next book will be about and I can not wait. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶 Age gap Daddy kink Exhibitionist Praise Spanking No third act breakup Workplace
I received an arc of this book and I’m so grateful. Thank you, Sarah Blue!
Let’s just start off with the dedication of this book! Because Pedro Pascal is Daddy. This book was such a treat- absolutely delicious!
Jessa attends her estranged father’s funeral which sets her life on a new path. She’s new in town, single and when Aiden, the current ceo of her father’s company offers her a job, she accepts it.
One of my absolute favorite parts of this book was how natural Aiden and Jessa’s relationship developed. I loved the tension building and it didn’t feel rushed or forced. Their openness and communication skills were top tier. I loved it so much! Also how much mutual respect, honesty and integrity there was between them. So satisfying to read!
Aiden was such a good Daddy. I mean, he was just perfect! He had a deliciously filthy mouth which he used well and often. He had me giggling and blushing. He also had my heart in his hands with how he took care of Jessa, both emotionally and physically. He’s precious. We need to protect this man at all costs.
Jessa was a breath of fresh air! I absolutely adored her. She was strong and brave, and her heart was pure, despite being let down by life and having to deal with a lot, she still had a wonderfully beautiful heart. And I loved how much both Aiden and Jessa brought out the best of each other.
Overall this was such a fun, easy and hot read. The smut/plot ratio was perfectly balanced. It was also so heartwarming and sweet. Sarah delivered, and delivered good, with this book! I’m so excited about the next book and I need Penny and Lincoln’s story!
Aidan is an absolute dream, no question about it. He’s sweet and caring but also dominant and super protective. Everything about him is just perfection. The way he treats Jessa.. SWOON.
Jessa is the sweetest. She was dealt a shitty hand but watching the way she grows throughout the book.. AMAZING.
**I’m hoping for a discreet cover because I will be buying it for my trophy shelf asap!!
"You're such a good, dirty girl for daddy, aren't you? 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
ARC REVIEW - out 6/16 Contemporary romance Workplace / office romance Age gap (25-39) No third act breakup Character driven Childfree Daddy kink Dom/sub dynamic Praise kink Dirty talk Backdoor action Toy play Exhibitionism (at a club) Impact play
This book has smut so good that I could not give it anything less than 5 stars, just for that alone.
Jessa meets Aiden at her fathers funeral after she leaves her ex and moves away. She only met her father twice in her life, because she's the product of his cheating. But he leaves her shares in his company. Aiden runs that company, much to dismay of her half brother who did not inherite the majority of the shares - Aiden got those. Jessa gets a job at that company, with Aiden as her boss. There's an undeniable attraction but there's the age gap and the fact that Jessa just got out of a toxic relationship, plus she's Aidens dead best friends daughter. And he's her boss.
This book made me SO giddy!!! I loved the tension building, the undeniable connection between the characters. They both grow because of their relationship and I loved that. Especially Jessa, she finds her voice and learns to stand up for herself. The story itself wasn’t groundbreaking but it definitely kept my attention because of the beautiful development of the romance. AND THE SMUT. GODDAMN. This might be the hottest shit I've read in a while. The club. The kinks. The dirty talk. It had EVERYTHING I loved. Daddy kink is the main thing in this book and I'll be honest, it took me some books to let that grow on me but now I can't get enough. The way Aiden is both dominant but so so so caring. I fucking LOVED it. He is the fucking blueprint. Sarah, you really outdid yourself on the spice in this book. Amazing. Also, shout out to Penny and Lincoln *wink wink*

Jessa is looking for change in her life and decides to head to Florida to connect with her estranged father, but finds out on the way that he's passed. At his funeral, she learns her father left her shares to his company, Kemper's Sports Supply, and a cottage. It's there she meets Aiden Carlson, her father's best friend and CEO of Kemper's Sports Supply, and he offers her a job and she accepts. Sparks fly when they give into their attraction to one another. Jessa wants a man that's going to take care of her and Aiden's ready to be her daddy.
I never knew a daddy kink romance could be so sweet until I read this book. Aiden and Jessa are perfect together. They have a relationship that feels authentic and something that could truly exist in the real world. They communicate openly and honestly with one another. Their relationship is built on a foundation of trust and understanding. I love how they took care of one another and loved each other so deeply. The spicy scenes were Sarah Blue perfection and the daddy kink was just right.
I'm SO excited for the next book. Lincoln and Penny are going to give us all the good forbiddeness vibes.
Thank you to Sarah for the early copy in exchange for an honest review!
If you’re looking for a spicy book about a healthy relationship with communication and commitment this is it!
Aiden and Jessa quickly realize they have a connection and are interested in becoming more after trying to keep their feelings to themselves. Their relationship starts and they are both open and honest with what they want and where their expectations lie. They’re honestly adorable and I loved how sure they were of each other right off the bat!
Jessa learning to deal with what life has dealt her while learning to be able to lean on Aiden, but not too much, was relatable and important for people to remember! You still want to be able to stand on your own feet if a relationship ends.
I felt like I wasn’t very connected with the characters personally but overall enjoyed their relationship. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the two and the daddy kink. It’s not as much a taboo situation and more so normalizing kinks. Their relationship dynamic was so healthy inside and outside of the bedroom and I loved it. The spice was spectacular and I bought the e-book after reading on KU so I can go back and revisit it!
I think I would enjoyed the story more if there was a bit of a slow burn and more building up to the relationship. Overall this was a fun, spicy, and sweet read. I’m super excited for the next book and will definitely be continuing the series!
This is my 3rd book of Sarah that I have read and let me tell you I am becoming obsessed. This book was sooooo good.
This book follows Jessa and Aiden, jessa finds her self at her estranged fathers funeral and that where she meets her half brother and her fathers wife and Aiden. She ends up with shares to his company and a lake house so she ends up working with Aiden.
The attraction between the two was oozing out of this book. The character were so open and honest the communication was top notch the spice was AMAZING EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING
If you are looking for daddy knk, anl play, spanking, billionaire, after Care, spoiling, age gap, dads best friend, forced proximity, office romance and all the ooey gooey good es this is the book for you
I loved this! Major probs to the heroine for just spending his money left and right 💸💸 you go girl
Aiden and Jessa meet at Collin Kemper's funeral – Aiden best friend and Jessa's deadbeat dad. He offers her a job and things quickly go beyond just boss/employee when they run into eachother at a sex club 🤫
While this does have major "damsel in distress" vibes, Jessa is confident and can stand up for herself without Aiden around. Would love to see more of this, especially in BDSM romances – just because she's a sub, it doesn't make her a doormat.
I think the drama at the end came a bit out of left field and I feel the consequences were slightly rushed but other than that, no complains
TW - parental death (off page, plot point, illness x1 and mentioned x1), grief, substance abuse (parent, past), verbally abusive ex (mentioned), attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault (sc to the FMC on page), toxic relationship (past), cheating ex (mentioned), adultery (scs, mentioned, plot point), alcohol consumption, medication (Xanax taken once on page), abortion (mentioned with malice from a sc), broken hand (past, sports injury, arthritis - current), grief
CW - impact play (spanking), exhibitionism, voyeurism, daddy, snowballing, toys, public play
Tropes - possessive, sex club, parent's best friend, age gap (25F, 39M), workplace
Jessa (FMC) and Aiden (MMC) meet under not the best circumstances at the funeral of her new found dad and his best friend and business partner. The reading of the will causes tension between Jessa and her step family who have an aversion to her due to her representing her dad's infidelity.
Aiden is so daddy coded that I went back to the tropes / CW to make sure it would be happening in the book... and it delivered 🤪🤪. Aiden put up a valiant effort to keep Jessa at arms length and (fortunately), that failed and everyone is glad for it.
The pair of them made such a sweet and caring couple and I enjoyed the way they communicated with each other. They were hot hot hot both in and out of the sex club; I expected nothing less from a Sarah Blue book.
I'm very eager to read Forget Your Morals based on the teasers in this one 👀
