Reegan Richards has been moved from home to home, town to town, for as long as she can remember. But now she has proof that her mother has been hiding the truth about her father, Jonathan-a man Reegan thought was long dead. In a dangerous turn of events, Reegan soon learns far more truth than she is ready for, and now she may be forced to pay the consequences for what an innocent eyewitness saw more than fourteen fateful years ago.
I was really hooked in the beginning and through most of the middle. By the end it just wasn’t holding my attention as much. Still a good read if you’re on a long drive or need a quick distraction.
This was an enjoyable story that I would rate 3.5 and round up to 4 stars. WI wouldn't say this is the standard LDS romantic suspense novel. I don't know if I would call it a romance really because the romance was so secondary as to almost not be there and really didn't show up until late in the story and then still wasn't much. The story would fall in the category of suspense in that lives were threatened and the FBI was involved. :) However, the reader is aware for most of the book who the bad guys are, so there is no mystery to the "suspense" aside from one twist that I predicted from almost the first appearance of that person. Hope that sentence isn't spoiler-worthy. Anyway, it was a nice story

Unfortunately this book reinforces the idea that a 'beautiful' guy can't possibly be bad. And in true Mormon lit fashion, all the main characters conveniently turn out to be LDS. Moreover, the reader (audio CD) sounded a little too much like a newscaster, so I felt like I was watching a broadcast of this girl's life instead of living it with her.
Despite these flaws, I did enjoy the story (a little) until it turned out all the characters who'd been shot were actually put in 'protective custody' by the omnipotent FBI. Which begs the question, "If the villains don't actually accomplish anything evil, are they really evil?"

For the last fourteen years, Reegan has been separated from her father. The witness protection program has been trying to keep them alive after Jonathan (Reegan's father) was witness to a mafia killing. Unfortunately, now that they've been found, Reegan and her mother will be used as pawns for Sabatini's revenge. The book was fast-paced and surreal. I marveled at Reegan's strength. At age 19, she's quite the fighter.
I really don't understand why the publisher puts out abridged audio versions of a book that is not that long to begin with. It seems like it would take a lot more effort to abridge it, and people like me avoid the audiobooks that are abridged! Okay, done with my rant. I enjoyed this. 3 1/2 stars. Fairly typical LDS suspense, with way more coincidences than is believable, but I still enjoyed it.
This was a fun suspense book. It is an LDS author that added the LDS culture and religion to the story. I thought that when she did it was a bit out of context. The story kept you hopping and wondering if you really should trust a character. I liked that about the book. It did have some cheesy parts too. Overall a good read.
I received a copy of this from Sonia O'Brien's father, who was a co-worker of my dad. (: She wrote me two letters and gave me an accompanying bookmark telling me to write my best. As such, I read this book and absolutely loved it. It's not too mature, it's not too simple, and it makes me go through a range of emotions. The characters are greatly developed as well.
fun quick adrenaline-rush read. A novel in the LDS-mystery genre. Story is probably a little contrived and far-fetched, but I gobbled it up anyway, and really enjoyed it. Think "low-cal John Grisham" on this one!
One of the reviews I read, I think his name was Ryan, must have read another book. I thought this book was awewsome!!!!!! Another edge of your seat type of books. I loved all the characters in this book and I just thought the whole book was great.
A very simple mystery. I had Blaine figured out by the second time he was featured in the story. The story is a bit predicable, but it was still an easy, entertaining read. I would like to find a good mystery that I don't figure out quite so quickly.
I took this book with me to read while on vacation. As I read the first chapter, I realized I had already read this book. Oh well. It was long enough ago that I didn't remember much about it. There were many twists and turns, and even some romance (which is always a plus).
OH MY GOSH!!! If I had to read it a thousand times I would never get bored of it. This book has everything from the witness protection program to two destroyed lives. I will definately read again.
OK, for its genre, it was one of the better books in a while. She threw in a few twists I just didn't see until the end. A bit of fun fluff and a little better written than most ofthe LDS novels.
I really loved this book. Not everyobody was who they appeared to be, and this book kept me quessing till the very end. It was really suspenseful with a sprinkling of good romance.
