Growing up in North West England and in Germany, Anna wrote plays about talking animals, and stories about naughty children, and drew on every available surface. After school, she did an Art Foundation course, then a degree in German Literature & Philosophy at Oxford University. In 1998 she found her perfect job at Usborne in London, writing about everything from curious penguins to trips to the Moon. Usborne.com
Another lovely collection from Usborne! It is an enjoyable read, with some good illustrations throughout. What I most enjoyed, however, was the information about Hans Christian Andersen at the end of the book, full of interesting and moving details about his life and the editors also added a timeline after this full of even more information.
I Love Reading Fairytales So This Is A Must Have Book For My Collection. Though Some If The Stories Are Not Meant For Children As They Have Really Sad Endings But The Illustrations Of This Book Are Amazing. This Book Also Contains Informations About Hans Christian Andersen Which Is Fantastic. Overall A Great Purchase. 😊🙏💫
Podling 5 and I finished this yesterday. I really do recommend the Usborne Illustrated series. The stories are pared down sufficiently for each to be consumable in a single sitting (or broken into parts) and the illustrations are truly beautiful.
Obviously Hans Christian Andersen is amazing! Some of the endings were so unexpected though!! It was my first time reading a few of the fairytales. Loved them all.
