While the characters were likeable, they left me slightly indifferent. They didn’t bring out strong or deep emotions. It was as if I was watching their journey from afar and couldn’t get close to them.
There was a mystery surrounding Cara’s father but it wasn’t solved. I believe it will be through the next parts of this series.
The ending was rushed and abrupt.

That mystery/thriller storylines was great and honestly the threats threw me! You do get to know about Cara and Wes’s home life, not as just side characters but of importance. This definitely held my interest and I cannot wait to read more.

Perfect Mix of Mystery and Romance

Oh my gosh, WHAT a debut book for Kate’s new series, Dangerous Blooms!! Family drama, angst, suspense, a slow-burn romance and…a murder? With characters you feel vested in, the components all combine to make this an engaging, unputdownable read.

Cara is hiding out in Atlanta after a terrible scandal. Her father has also recently passed and she is trying to build a new life, attending school to become a makeup artist and eventually have her own beauty line. She meets a model who offered her a place to stay on the cheap so she grabs it.

Wes is a cybersecurity expert. As it happens, he and the model who befriends Cara go way back. He’s in town searching for a new home and is bunking at the model’s home, but she is MIA and leaves them both in the dark about the other’s presence.

Cara and Wes slowly learn to cohabitate, while also trying to fend off the not-so-friend like vibes for each other which everyone except them can see. Things become way more complicated when Cara’s past comes calling and Wes tries to help figure it out. Unfortunately that is not the only mystery play and it becomes more suspenseful with each chapter. Toss in the evil stepmother and her questionable motives and things really begin to pick up.

It was wonderful to see Cara and Wes get the HEA that they both deserved to have - one truly roots for them amongst all the other goings-on. The way the plot develops with Cara’s siblings, the stepmother and the resolution of Cara’s past situation, one can only wonder what will crop up in the next book. I highly recommend book one and am looking forward to where book two continues the Bloom family story.

I received this book as an ARC copy from the author and am willingly leaving my opinion.

I received this ebook as an ARC and am happy to leave my honest review.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this great start to a new series and will definitely read more of her books.
The story was very enjoyable, the TROPE is friends to lovers with an added dose of suspense and mystery, great banter between the two main characters and also much angst!!
Cara our FMC leaves her home because of a scandal and also to get away from a stalker, to start fresh in Atlanta. She is supposed to move in with a model as her room mate, but when she arrives the model is away and she finds Wes the MMC living in the house temporarily. This is where the love interest comes in to play, (I have to say the back and forth love interest will they, wont they did get a little annoying at times, I just wanted to scream GET ON WITH IT!!!)
The characters were well developed and there were several plot lines going on at the same time, but they blended together with the story very well. I’m sure we’ll see more of these characters and their families in the future and I can’t wait for some of them to have their own books (Declan!!!!)
I hate having to wait for the next book to be released as there were definitely some loose ends and certain plots that left many questions unanswered. Great work Kate!!

Mystery, Suspense and Romance Perfection !

This is a great way to start a new series and definitely is a romantic suspense story that has so much more. Cara is a young woman that wants to become very involved with the makeup and beauty industry. She was involved in a scandal and decided to move to Atlanta to pursue her dreams. She finds a roommate but when it is time to move in her roommate is on a photo shoot in another country. There is a guest in the house who is staying there while looking for a place to buy.
Wes is a complicated man and they both have an attraction between them. In a short time frame they become friends that are very secretly attracted to each other.
This story has all the mystery and suspense that keeps you wanting more. My favorite parts are the friendly interaction between Wes and Cara. When Wes shares his love of Star Trek and Cara discovers she likes it too shows the humor in this story. I loved how everyone notices these two characters are attracted to each other but refuse to acknowledge this. It’s a great story and I look forward to the next installment!

I read this book as an advanced reading copy, that I was given for a free review.

I loved the mystery of who was sending the heroine cara threatening messages and how that was resolved (no spoilers here!). I also loved how her discomfort finding herself with a roommate she wasn't expecting turned to comfort with him. That comfort eventually turned to love and commitment. The brief glimpses into her family life (brothers, step monster etc) really helped make me interested in not just Cara and Wes but also brothers Luke and Declan. The ending chapters set up the next book in the series (Luke's story) nicely while still leaving a mystery to uncover in coming books. I can't wait to read more.

Such an engrossing story! Socialite Cara wants to make a fresh start in Atlanta after an admirer makes her uncomfortable. After she lost her father a year ago, there was a series of photos leaked to the press and soon after she began to be contacted by the admirer. She enrolls in cosmetology school and changes her name. She finds a roommate, Melody, at a fashion show. She then meets Wes, her new roommate's friend, who is staying with her until he finds a house.

Wes is so attractive and shows Cara the joys of Star Trek, but he is so in love with Melody. So then why is he always thinking about Cara?

In addition to the romance, there are several mysterious subplots, one of which does not have a resolution by book's end.

So well written and I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I read this series backwards, starting with Declan first (4th book). I don’t think it needs to be read in order but I would’ve enjoyed it more not knowing what happens to the 3 brothers.

Cara and Wes frustrated me quite a bit, esp Wes who seemed to have tunnel vision about his friend Melody. His attachment and loyalty to her went on for way too long, until practically the end. I wish that plot line had ended closer to the middle so the rest could be devoted to finding Cara’s stalker and solidifying Cara and Wes’ relationship. If I hadn’t read the other books already, I would have serious doubts about an HEA for Cara and Wes. It’s a slow burn and there isn’t a lot of spicy scenes. I like that the mystery about their father’s death continues throughout the series.

This new series by Kate Breitfeller felt both familiar and also brand new at the same time. I loved her Caribbean series with Becca, and I was happy to see some of the same smart humor sprinkled throughout this novel. I also liked yet again another strong, but flawed female lead. This book was definitely more “spicy“ in the romance, but tastefully done. I also feel like you get a more complex mystery and character development than a typical romance novel. I can’t wait to read the next book to take me further down solving some of the mysteries left dangling at the end of this one !!!

Also, I bought the paper back version, and this book is thicker than I expected! A pleasant surprise!

Honestly I struggled getting into this book. I forced myself to self to finish it. I read someone's review just before adding this and they stated there seemed to be something off with the characters they stated like as if you're watching them from afar I hundred percent agree with that and I'm thinking that's why I couldn't quite get into it.
The ending seems like they were trying to hurry up and finish the book and never really solved the mysteries throughout the book I'm assuming because they want you to read book two

I received an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
See You Soon is an enjoyable page turner and I can't wait to read the next installment in the Dangerous Blooms series.
If you have read Kate Breitfeller's previous series you can expect the same great character development, intriguing mystery, and entertaining will-they-won't-they romance. But unlike her Caribbean Series, this one is Extra Spicy y'all!
See You Soon is a suspenseful, fun read that you'll find hard to put down.

This book has it all! From high society parties to movie sets, from the Georgia suburbs to a villa in Italy, from pulse-quickening thriller to pulse-quickening love story.
The characters were well-developed, the plot was engaging, and the love story enthralling.
The story was wrapped up in a satisfying manner, but enough questions were left open that I'm eager to read the next volume.
It was the perfect summer read!

Oh my goodness, this book was awesome! I loved the suspense and romance! There was very little spice but the sexual tension between Cara and Wes kept me on the edge of my seat! I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read this, I just wish I had gotten to it sooner because I had a hard time putting it down. I absolutely can't wait for book 2 in this series and I will definitely be checking out her other books!

This book hooked me from the beginning and didn’t let go until the end. I loved the slow burn between Cara and Wes, I loved the complicated dynamics between the Bloom siblings, and I even got a bonus trip to Italy out of it. I would’ve happily read this book in one sitting if I’d had time, because it was SO hard to put down. I’m so happy there’s about to be a book 2. I’m looking forward to some more time with the Blooms!

*I was given this book by the author in exchange for a review*

I LOVED this story!! I fell in love with Wes and the author made the relationship so realistic and relatable. I honestly went into this book blind and had no idea what to expect but it blew me away. There were a lot of plot lines going on but somehow they all blended together seamlessly. I wish there was more to the ending but it felt right the way it ended. Time to finish the series!

Excellent read!

Cara is a disinherited former socialite who moves to Georgia to get away from her past and a stalker. Wes is a tech nerd in love with his childhood best friend. Cara and Wes become roommates and friends. Cara falls for Wes, but she has to convince him what real love is. Mix all this with family drama and a Tuscany wedding and you get this page turner.

Running to read book two!

WOW, this was so well written, had the perfect amount of slow burn spice.

Such a good read. Cara and Wes were destined for each other.

The twists I definitely did not expect and I need to know what’s going to happen next

If you want a thrill, with some romance definitely check this book out!

When I first started reading i wasn't sure if I was going to like it...but the more I read the more captivated I became. I never seen that person being the stalker coming. When the ending came I had mixed feelings. But knowing that the story continues on it immediately made me start reading the second book.

💖

This book was somewhat boring and predictable. Of course Wes fell in love with Cara when they accidentally became roommates. Of course Melody decided she wanted to be with Wes though she was in love with Luca. And Cara was a sweet girl bit infuriating at the same time. I'll try and read the next book in the series and hope it's much better then this one!

I loved Cara and Wes. Loved their journey!

There is some bad language and sexy stuff - more than I prefer. (Just a preference and a warning to others.) It’s not enough to keep me from loving the book, though.

story dragged

The book was too long for no reason and seemed to drag on too long. I also couldn't get behind the abrupt change of feelings, it just wasn't believable. That's all I can say without spoilers.

DNF after Chapter 1. There were at least 6 narrative sentences in the few several pages that ended with an exclamation point; and at least that many could containing em dashes. It was like reading a high school girls diary.

This was a fun and twisty read! I really loved Cara, Wes, and the rest of the Bloom family and the slow burn of the romance was a lot of fun to read! I’m excited to keep going through the series to see how the mystery that I believe connects the books plays out! I’d definitely recommend this book!
