As the heir to a powerful vampire gang, I should be a master thief by now. But my own abilities have always been flawed. I’m good at one thing, though—stealing. When my uncle sets his sights on a prized possession owned by Gothel, the ruler of the Sky Syndicate, I’m tasked with the job of taking it. Everything changes when I meet the captivating gargoyle. He offers to fix my broken magic, and his smoldering touch and commanding presence make me feel alive for the first time in years. But Gothel’s help comes with a cost. He demands my complete surrender. And when I discover just how good it feels to give in, it’s a price I’m willing to pay. Our dangerous game of seduction and submission leaves me yearning for more. But even as I give myself to him, I know the bliss is short-lived. I’ll learn from Gothel, and then I’ll steal from him. At least that’s what I tell myself. The more time I spend in the syndicate lord’s company—and over his knee—the more I wonder if I can rob the only male who’s ever truly helped me. When danger threatens to keep us apart for good, I realize I haven’t been learning to steal. I’ve been learning to love…and I’ll do whatever it takes to win Gothel’s heart, even if it means risking everything.

I had a good time. But the plot was not what I was expecting and I felt like it was missing a few things. However, the interesting world still remains the same along with the decent writing. Tower is a vampire who was born into a crime family. He has an ability that when he bites someone he can steal their magic and use it as his own. He only has one problem, a big one, and that is he can’t seem to harness the magic he steals. Because of this he is shunned by his uncle and made to work for his place in the family by siphoning powers and then giving them away to be sold.

Since the first book I really liked Tower’s character. He is portrayed as a person with so many secrets and emotions that he keeps hidden either behind literal glamor or a fake act he puts on and my fondness of him hasn't changed. The next character is Gothel, a very powerful gargoyle, the sky syndicate who rules over the most grand and lavish buildings.

He helps people control their magic and sets them on the right path. So when Tower is sent to steal from him Gothel can easily see through the thick walls he has built around himself. I’ve never read a book with a gargoyle before so I thought Gothel was pretty interesting and well structured as a mythical creature.

Now for the stuff I didn’t quite like. I thought there would be a bit more hurt/comfort, I mean Tower comes from a very abusive home that crumpled his sense of freedom. I understand that he feels safe around Gothel but I thought they would talk more about his past. Also I expected Wotan or Ryder to make an appearance at some point. Because Ryder seemed to have formed a solid bond with Tower and I thought he and Wotan were originally somewhat friends. But they were hardly mentioned at all throughout the whole book which was a bit odd and disappointing.

I think this one is still worth a read, I know some people like it better than the first. That wasn’t the case for me but I did enjoy both the characters and their relationship despite a few big dips along the way.

Tower is a vampire who can siphon powers but has been held captive by his abusive uncle his whole life only to be let free to steal powers for his uncles gain. (Rapunzel retelling)

He serves cvnt so bad he has to disguise himself whenever he goes in public.

Gothel is a massive daddy Gargoyle with a 🍆 so big u need magic to take him
👀

I don’t usually love daddy kink but my love for gay Gargoyles and vampires overpowered. & this was even spicier than the first book.

This ended up being my favorite book in the series!

MM Romance
Rapunzel Retelling
4.5 Stars ⭐️

🎵Narrated by Tor Thom and Kirt Graves🎵 🫶🏻 5+++ stars for the audio. Tor Thom voices the monsters and omg his voice is just sex 🥵 Kirt Graves’ voice compliments Tor’s and it almost sounds like a duet and not a bunch of voices competing. Love it!

I fucking loved this and if I was still a generous rater, I’d give this 5 stars but I’m a jaded bitch now and can’t round up 😂 This book was so hot 🥵 This is a Rapunzel retelling and we have hot daddy gargoyle Gothel and his bratty vamp Tower. Tower is a vampire that can siphon powers from others but has no idea how to use his gift to release said powers unless he’s forced to by his uncle. His uncle is a violent piece of shit asshole that uses Tower for his own gain and he forces Tower to steal a book for him that is in Gothel’s lair. Tower is an excellent thief but things don’t go as planned when he tries to steal it the first time and when he returns to try again, he finds himself trapped with Gothel only not in the way Tower expected to be.

Tower is a brat and Gothel gives off hot daddy energy. Gothel needs to put Tower in his place and he does so through punishments of spanking and other kinky things. It’s not long before Gothel realizes Tower is his fated mate but it’s not an easy road for them to be together. The book Tower is supposed to steal was super cool and I absolutely loved everything we learned from it. I loved the heartbeats and can I just say that the fated mate claiming sex scene in the epilogue was the hottest fucking thing ever? 🥵 I need more books that have that kind of scene because wow 🤩 I also completely adored the grotesques especially the one that is in this the most. I have read gargoyle romance before but they’ve always been super disappointing until now. Love this series!

The next one is a MMM little mermaid retelling and I cannot wait to read it!

The battle scene was AMAZING. Also, this story has a surprising amount of cute moments.

Thank you to Megan on the Keenk DC for taunting me with the juicy bits of this book.

“This beats for you, Tower.” My voice is full of conviction as I continue shielding us both from the war raging around us. I’ll end it momentarily, but I need him to hear what I’m about to say. “You have fought alone your whole life, but you will never be alone again. You will always have me to fight alongside you. I am yours.”

🏳️‍🌈 Queer retelling of Rapunzel with a vampire named Tower and a Gargoyle named Gothel! The second book takes us to the sky syndicate where Tower is trying to steal a book from Gothel to help appease his abusive Uncle. Tower is a brat and Gothel loves to tame him a wild brat who loves to submit! Lots of D/S elements, a spanking scene that made me clutch my pearls. Also they “mated” in the AIR? 😳
Parts of the story just seemed to predictable but still a solid story and decent smut! Excited to head to the sea people in the next book! 🫡

“Or what? You’ll nut all over me and then run away again?” Tower said the funniest shit! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Primer libro leído este 2024.

2.5

Audio: 5 stars for Kirt Graves (Tower) and 4 for Tor Thom (Gothel)

Book: 3-3.5 stars

Can definitely be read as a standalone, but you see Tower in book 1.

I think I liked Tower more than Ryder. Haha I would love to see less sexy time and more plot, but I still enjoyed reading their story!

This definitely had more of a BDSM vibe. So if that isn’t your thing then this might not be for you. Either way an entertaining read and can’t wait for book 3!

4.5 ‘Let your glamour down’ stars!

Steal the Sky is the second book in the Beautiful Nightmares series and features Gothel the Gargyole and Tower the Vampire. It’s a MM retelling of Rapunzel and its uniqueness is wonderful.

Gothel is the leader of the Sky Syndicate and has something that Tower’s uncle wants badly. All Tower has ever wanted is freedom and to fix his broken magic. Accepting the task of retrieving what belongs to Gothel weaves Tower and Gothel together in more ways than one. Will the two of them make the right choices for a happy outcome?

I really loved this retelling. Gothel was captivating and such a good Daddy Dom. Daddy kink is a hit or miss for me but here it was hot AF. Tower was submissive but also a bratty alpha that balanced Gothel’s more dominant nature. I loved the way Gothel read Tower and always endeavored to see the best in him even when Tower used words like barbs. I especially loved the way Gothel melted for his mate and allowed Tower to shine.

Tower was fierce and strong but bent in the best way just for Gothel. I love seeing a manly man melt for his one. He was a complicated character with walls as hard as Gothel’s gargoyle body. I enjoyed reading how his walls crumbled slowly around Gothel and the realizations he came to about how he felt and where he wanted his future to lead.

Both Tower and Gothel had intense and passionate chemistry that jumped off the pages. Their love was rooted in desperation and deep passion that I couldn’t help but swoon for. Seriously the steamy scenes in here were *fans self.* The story line was well written but I did feel like it faded a little in the background to come out swinging too fast at the end. However, I won’t complain about getting all the smutty moments between Gothel and Tower.

“What I want is you, Tower. You and our happily ever after.”

Overall, this was a spicy and sweeter read between a Gargoyle who finally has a beating heart and a vampire yearning for real connection. Steal the Sky definitely stole my heart.

3.75 stars rounded up. I liked this a lot but I wish it had gone further into the romcom direction? That's weird to say about monster romance but I wish it was more cute or more dark, one or the other. Still a fun, very enjoyable read.

I only wish it had gone more in depth to their emotional issues or the opposite direction where there were more light hearted giggles. It was successful in that it landed precisely in between.

I really wish authors would put In a warning if there is on page sex with other people. Depending on when it happens in a book I can be okay with it but sometimes it’s just awkward. I get it that the two MCs haven’t “officially” met yet but i just don’t like reading that they’re thinking of the other person while they’re with someone else.

A hot MM enemies to lovers, Rapunzel retelling! A blurb gives a pretty good idea about the 1st half of book. Tower (his PTSD breaks my heart) is a vampire who's a thief & Gothel's a gargoyle, leader of sky syndicate, who wants back what T stole & can help him learn his powers.

So I skipped a 1st few scenes, Ya know I was just checking the book, sampling it for some juicy start...but then I couldn't stop! Especially when they saw eachother, in a sec club no less! Devoured this in 5hrs during my train journey!

Story kept me hooked, gosh when G found that T's his fated mate, I wanted him to tell so much. But I understood his reasons, even If I have mixed feelings about their choices lol. Omg, these 2 love to rule eachother! And that ending, omfg My heart was in my throat. I should've seen that Tangled like twist coming 😏.

The story was read as a standalone & these are new to me authors but YES I'mma read the other books soon!

“This is one fucked up fairy tale.”
“Am I the prince or the villain?”
“No idea, but I’m sure as hell not the fair maiden.”

“I’m not your dad, Tower, but I don’t mind being your daddy.”

Damn yes, our gargoyle gives total daddy vibes!

Story ratings:
POV: 1st Person, DUAL POV
1) The Characters & world: 4.7/5 (The world's backstory is good)
2) The feels: 😢😏😆🙃😍👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨🥰😞🤯💕
3) Story flow & enjoyment: 5+/5
4) Conflicts & twists: 4.4/5 (The choices, gosh. Heart-twisting!)
5) Relationship: 5/5 (Angsty, but delicious, snarky & sweet!)
6) Sexy/Steamy scenes: 3/5
7) Levels: Mild Dark & Cute, Mildly-high Angst

I thought I'd reviewed this one which I read a few months ago. But it apparently got eaten, or lost, or never done...weird. I wish I could remember if it were a 3 or 4 star review. So strange. I recall writing a review :( Going with 3 stars only because it's the middle of the road and I can't remember exactly what I liked or disliked about it. :/

I was looking forward to Tower's book and this book didn't disappoint. I absolutely loved the Dom/sub and the touch of Daddy/brat dynamics.
I was mesmerized by Gothel and his attentive way of treating Tower. I love a caring and dominant man who knows what he's doing and who knows his way around a guarded and tormented brat. *chef kiss*
The story was well written and everything flowed smoothly.

This was such a good Rapunzel retelling, loved that in this version, the "villain" was a protective gargoyle. It was such a fun and spicy read. It was so cute how the ML's name was Tower, love the nod to the original fairy tale. Plus, I am a sucker for a story with a bratty bottom and a patient top who is willing to take him in hand. The progression of their romance was great, especially how Gothel's heart started beating once he found his mate. Once again, there were a ton of misunderstandings between them, and that ending definitely got my heart pounding. Especially when Tower saw a possible future in the book. Gothel was so protective of Tower in that last fight, but it was Tower that finally ended it and got rid of the people that have hurt him his whole life. I cannot believe how evil his uncle was. It turns out that he killed his own brother who loved him. Not only that, for all the shit he's been giving Tower his whole life about not being able to fully access his powers, it turns out he didn't have them at all. It was definitely karma when Tower ripped his heart out. And the ending was super cute. Wonder if Jasper is playing some kind of part in this? He seems to be around at the start of a lot of these romances, hmmm? Well, onto the next one. Definitely want to finish the series.

I thought I was hooked off Hunt the Woods, but Steal the Sky was next level!! I’ve always known vampires were sexy and mysterious creatures of the night, but apparently gargoyles bring steam and spice to another dimension.

𝐼’𝓂 𝓃𝑜 𝑜𝓃𝑒’𝓈 𝓈𝓌𝑒𝑒𝓉𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉. 𝐵𝓊𝓉 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝓅𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇𝒻𝓊𝓁, 𝑒𝓁𝑒𝑔𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝒷𝑒𝒶𝓈𝓉 𝑜𝒻 𝒶 𝓂𝒶𝓁𝑒, 𝒾𝓉’𝓈 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝒶 𝓌𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓇𝒶𝓌 𝒷𝓁𝒾𝓈𝓈. 𝒫𝑜𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒹𝒶𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇𝑜𝓊𝓈.

I really enjoyed Gothel and Towers dynamic, their growth of trust, and their ability to make the best of each other’s situations. Tower was a brat of the tenth century, while Gothel was the calm leader needed. And, they’re chemistry!!!! WOAH!!!! If anyone knows where I can find me one, I have the money 💵

I have surprisingly enjoyed both of these fairytale retellings, though I can honestly admit I’ve never heard the originals. Either way, these are how they should have always been told. And, we’re getting a MMM next!?! Yeah, count me in and please sign me up for life!

Dark Rapunzel retelling but make it M/M

DAMN THESE ARE GOOD! 🔥

I absolutely loved Gothel in this and how he was a daddy dom. Whew. Blew me away! Not to mention I f*cking love Gargoyles!!!

Tower was obviously cool, he’s a tricky little vampire and is an absolute brat so these two were the perfect pair!

I loved this book and I am so damn excited for book 3! 🤭

This book had all the things for a dark romance 😍 I could not stop reading! Romance, thrilling, enticing, and made me want to scream with how giddy and cheesy some parts were written. Easy to follow and keep track of what's going on. Two POVs take place in this book, Tower & Gothel(Stone Daddy) are my newest favorite book couple! 📖.

It definitely can be read as a stand-alone! ❤️ Anna & Amy are a powerful team! I'm excited to read more of their work!

Oh I wanted to like this book more. The reasons I don’t are definitely a me thing I think.
I really liked Tower from the last book and I was super curious about his story and him getting his HEA. However, it kinda felt in the first 40% that he was trading one manipulative man for another. Went from being under the complete control of his uncle to having to obey Gothel. It didn’t feel like Gothel cared for him all the much until he realized they were mates. He stole Gothel second in commands power of flight and felt bad about it when he did- and Gothel seemed to think he didn’t care. The spanking in front of people really triggered me. There is a lot of humiliation in this book without any warning at all. He was made to stand in the corner like a child and was called young man- seemed lowkey age play which isn’t my thing. I also didn’t like that he made it seem like feeding him was a reward? Like… it’s not? His uncle starved him, and then this guy makes it seem like he can’t be fed if he’s bad. Not only is there humiliation there is a crap ton of manipulation as well. Gothel has him sign a contract and tells him if he says red at any point the contract is null and void but he will never help him again. So essentially he can’t be uncomfortable with this guys actions at all without losing the hope of controlling his power and getting freedom from his horrible uncle.

I acknowledge that humiliation is a trigger for me, and some people like it- and like this story. This is all just my opinion- but I felt so upset with it that I personally cannot rate this well. If I had known there was this vibe in the book I would have chosen not to read it. Hopefully the authors will be a bit more detailed in their content warning sections.

I read book one of this series quite a while ago, and I’m not sure WHY I waited so long to pick up book two!! This book had me in an absolute CHOKEHOLD. I literally could not shut up about it and told everyone I knew that they needed to read it!

We meet Tower, the heir to the du Sang vampire clan; a thief whose powers don’t quite work right. I felt so awful for him and the way he was treated by his uncle and the rest of the clan—pulled right at my heart strings. Tower ends up on the radar of Gothel, the gargoyle leader of the Sky Syndicate, as he tries to steal something his uncle has requested. The power that Gothel has radiates off the pages, and I was so fascinated by him and his grotesques!

The sex appeal behind this book is enchanting. I couldn’t stop reading this book because I NEEDED to see what was going to happen between these two next!! The tension and animosity is STRONG, and it extends into the bedroom, library, gym, office; you get where I’m going with this!

Anna and Amy have created a literal fairytale realm and will have you hooked on these stories! I truly am in awe of how smoothly this book was written; you’d have no idea two authors wrote this together! The twists and turns of this book kept me invested; just when I thought I knew why something was happening, I was proved wrong!

If you’re looking for something different and an every day fairytale rewritten in a “modern” sense and with an MM relationship, pick this one up!

"Back to your cage, Tower. I hope this brief taste of freedom was worth it."

I really liked Tower (also known as Rune from book 1), and I was quite excited to start his own book after the enigma he became. This dark M/M Rapunzel retelling was well crafted, with Tower's cage cinched nice and tight right from the beginning.

The worldbuilding continues to be great - I adored the grotesques and all of the gargoyle lore! Sometimes in monster smut you get a few special body parts and that's the extent of the 'monster' but the authors took a species and really developed some great ideas around them, like

The man's lips curve. The motherfucker's expression isn't smug. Oh no. It's confident - and it goes straight to my dick. It's infuriating. And it's not why I'm here. I came to the Sky Syndicate to claim my freedom - not surrender it.

The cat and mouse came between Gothel and Tower at the beginning was fun - Gothel held all of the control but you know that Tower was going to become something more and have his own power in the end. As that meddlesome pixie Jasper put it, Gothel was a total stone daddy and I'll have to re-read this book someday and revisit him!

My face burns like I just wandered into the path of a flamethrower. It's bad enough knowing Gothel can see me. Now one of his little garden gnomes is witnessing my humiliation.

Tower was the perfect mix of brat and sassiness. His and I especially loved the last scene between him and Raoul. Or when Raoul gave Tower Little guy knew how to get his own back, that's for sure!

We also get a hint at the characters from the Sea Syndicate that will feature in book 3 Sacrifice the Sea, which is an MMM Little Mermaid retelling that happens to release in 2 days. Best. Timing. Ever.

Tower should be the leader of the Vampires, but his powers don’t manifest, leaving his cruel uncle in charge. When he’s instructed to steal an artifact from Gothel, the leader of the Sky Syndicate and a gargoyle, Tower’s life takes a dramatic turn. I loved love LOVED these two together, and their Daddy-sub relationship was both passionate and sweet. Anna Fury and Amy Pennza are on fire as a writing duo and I am truly enjoying this series.

I really enjoyed this! It was fun and light but still gave enough meat to have me wanting to know what happened next. There were a few plot points I wished had come at different times but that's obviously subjective to a point.

In real life I love gargoyles and grotesques so this one was bound to either be special to me or be a huge flop but I'm glad to say it was the first.
