This was listed somewhere as being for younger children, starting at age 5, but it's more appropriate for teens. The illustrations in it are tiny. Granted, the average child hasn't yet developed presbyopia, but I still think the drawings are fairly useless. I do like that the patterns are printed on large cards, making them nice and portable. The included knitting needles are plastic and the yarn kind of "sticks" on them. This, I've found, can be a good thing for beginners, especially younger ones. The needles won't be suitable to add to a favorites collection for seasoned knitters, though.
