Enjoyable and educational book about sharks for the young. Enough solid information that I learned (or re-learned) useful shark material, myself. In the sweet spot where it can be read productively to a four-year old and then be read solo by a nine-year old.(*)
Love the cover, by the way. They even raised the water droplets for a tactile feel.
This is a favorite of DS #2 (20 months), whose Things are aquatic life and dinosaurs. He'd prefer you to read it to him, but if necessary, he'll "read" it solo, flipping the pages and excitedly calling out the name of each shark as he passes. ("Hammer shawk! Whale shawk! Tigr shawk! Gray White shawk!" )
The one great surprise of parenthood has been how funny children are. The sheer ecstasy in his voice just about kills me.
DS#2: 5/5
Me: 4/5
(*) I don't actually have a nine year old to try this out on, so that's a guess. Ask me in a few years.
