I’m undecided between giving this book a 2 or a 3. I really need Goodreads to introduce half stars please and thank you!

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Stone’s writing is smooth, and the book has a good mix of angst, romance, and steam. However, there were a few things that I felt were problematic.

Firstly, I get that Stone’s books often explore relationships between a young, inexperienced woman and an older, dominant partner, but Mia’s character felt too naïve for me to be entirely comfortable with. The story opens with Mia auctioning off her virginity, which immediately screams lack of experience both in relationships and sexuality. But beyond that, Mia comes across as vulnerable and easily influenced. It wasn’t just about her being a submissive—I didn’t feel like she was mature enough to fully consent to the relationship dynamics, which made me uneasy.

Secondly, I struggled with the blurred distinction between lover and domme in this book. Even outside their sub/dom dynamic, Mia consistently referred to Cassandra as "Mistress," which made it feel like the power dynamics were always tilted in Cassandra’s favor, even in everyday interactions. While I understand that Cassandra desired a submissive partner outside the bedroom as well, the lack of clear boundaries between their roles made their relationship feel a bit off to me.

That being said, I’ve enjoyed Stone’s work in the past, especially Boss of Her, which didn’t have these issues. Maybe this book just wasn’t for me, but I still appreciate Stone’s writing and the world she creates.

Ah, Cassandra. You're so stoic and sexy and dominant and so vulnerable underneath all that. Every time she reacted to being called Mistress, I was like A-wooooooga 😍😍. She really did it for me. Mia is a lucky one. Mine indeed.

This was everything I love about Anna Stone's steamy stories. It got dramatic and high stakes, but not for a long time, which I always appreciate. It's sweet smut with delicious buildup.

Even the villain made me laugh? Like, I'd love that character as a TV nemesis.

☆☆☆☆☆ easily!

Anna Stone's books usually add warmth to chilly days and nights. Her latest age-gap romance is no exception.
Cassandra Lee is a confident, successful CEO. Her company specializes in acquiring failing businesses and making them profitable once more. Controlled and determined, steely resolve wrapped in velvet but she has her secrets and fears. Browsing for specific companionship she chances on a profile that stirs her interest. That click and ensuing bid brings (Jasmine) Mia into her life. Mia (as we come to know her) has her own stunted dreams and is desperate to pay off her sister's medical bills and mounting debt. Her low paying job pushed her into money lender hands and with threats escalating, she makes a daring decision.
An auction, compulsive bid, a meeting, then contract signed connect these women but to what end!
The author has characters from previous books pop in and Lilith's Den makes an appearance adding nicely to the plot. Secondary characters Holly (Mia's sister), Penelope, Riley and dangerous foe Diane Whiteford are mixed in with revenge and angst. Recognition of feelings and communication is key along with lots of heat, domme/submissive elements and light BDSM tied in with romance and the HEA.
Oh, Riley deserves her own book!

Saving Mia is a standalone romance by Anna Stone. Its a new release and is also in the KU subscription. I actually saw this over instagram a bit, and was super intrigued. I am always on the hunt for some solid FF romance that isn't politically driven and this one really fit the bill for me. I was so endeared by this one here, and it definitely worked for me in some ways. I loved the mix of BDSM and the opposites attract feel to the story but as well there were some fun elements of suspense mixed in that really built the plot as a whole.

Saving Mia is a story about Mia and Cassandra. Cassandra is a billionaire self made woman, she started from the ground up and built herself up by her bootstraps. She has a building empire of assisting companies from falling apart but has also created an elite BDSM club that seems to be lesbian oriented. When she sees Mia on the auction block, she bids on her and they enter an agreement of 1 month of exploring a dom/sub relationship. Mia needs the money to save her family from debt, but has always wanted to explore her submissive yearnings. But there are dangers coming to Mia and Cassie from both of their pasts, will they survive the coming tides of danger and mystery?

I had such a blast with "Saving Mia" it was such a delight to read this book and was such a great story. I became so easily lost in this one here. I absolutely adored it. I don't get a chance to read many ff romance, and normally I tend to not enjoy them but this author totally won my heart with this one. I absolutely adored every single moment of these two together and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and develop. And I also enjoyed that this really fleshed out their relationship and had a plot other than just the sex. We really see the growths in their bond but also seeing the suspense side of the story come to fruition and I really got a kick out of this author and the way she was able to bring these elements into such a balanced story. I definitely can't wait to explore more of this author's work!

Overall I had a blast with "Saving Mia" and I can't wait to explore more of her FF romance work, as its something I have been wanting to pick up more.

Like its predecesoor in this (so far) 2-book series, age gap, some light femdom, a caring Domme and sweet submissive. That's central to but does not define the story exactly, only in how the try-to-resist-her Domme is really discovering herself as much as the sub is discovering the roles.

The leads are sweet and their growing bond is nice. A fun short & light read 😀

I love all of Anna Stone's work. This was a fun, quick read, and up there in my top 5 of her novels. Nothing groundbreaking, but exactly what I needed. Love how she always weaves romance with her BDSM.

On a side note, who in Gods creation narrated this book?! Her voice was sizzling sexy, good god. 🔥

Content warnings: sexual content, gun violence, fire, kidnapping,

Rep: Cassandra (MC) is Korean-American, cis, and lesbian. Mia (MC) is cis, white, and sapphic (pansexual fits to me). Side enby character, side sapphic characters.

I loved every second of this. It was captivating from start to finish and I was desperate to keep reading to find out everything that was going on.

The chemistry between Cassandra and Mia was incredibly well written, and I loved all of their interactions.

I enjoyed this one! Another unfamiliar performer in Allie Shae, who was nominated in the narrator category for a GCLS award in 2024.

I’d call this BDSM-lite. Loved how Shae voiced the Cassandra character. Very sexy. There’s angst and drama and also a slow burn love story.

Shae also voiced another of Stone’s books - Capturing Tess - also in her Queens series. I believe that predates this one. May give that a listen as well.

Anna Stone always manages to bring out the sweet side of a BDSM relationship. Mia and Cassandra had amazing chemistry and I loved their relationship development. There's also an element of suspense in this novel, which definitely provides a bit of substance to this novel.

Saving Mia is a fun, light read that definitely provided sufficient spice 🔥🔥

Atrapante y ligero.

5 stars. Easily my favorite book by Anna Stone now. This was fantastic from beginning to end. Cassandra…*swoons* I adored her character so much and my heart hurt for her and everything she had been through with Di, her former Domme. Once we got her back story everything made so much sense as to why she is the way that she is. Mia auctions off her virginity to pay back a loan and that’s how she and Cassandra meet. They agree that Mia will be her submissive for one month. I liked the way the plot developed and the action/mystery aspect was great once Di came into the story. She was a villain my goodness. The third act conflict stressed me the hell out and was action packed and then everything wrapped up beautifully in the end. This had a perfect balance of angst, spice, action and suspense and I couldn’t get enough. Fingers crossed that we’ll get Riley’s book next because I am so obsessed with them.

This is the second book in the Queens series by Anna Stone and I enjoyed it so much more than book 1! (I still loved Capturing Tess don't get me wrong)

Buzzwords: steamy sapphic romance, romantic suspense (light), CEO domme, class difference, heroines meet because one is auctioning off her virginity (!!)

There are a lot of things that I really enjoyed about this novel. First, I really enjoyed the heroines. They are your typical Anna Stone heroines, both strong fierce characters, undeniably loyal, and also nervous about falling in love. Something that I really enjoyed about Cassandra however was that she is a self-made heroine, something we do not see often outside of the Anna Stone world. Cassandra is so smart and understands what it means to have nothing, so of course when she sees herself in Mia she cannot help but make her hers. Mia is also a character who comes from a lot of debt because of her sister having heart problems for half of their life. Mia was so sweet and kind and I felt like she was the perfect match for Cassandra because of how sweet she was but I also love how she stood up to Cassandra at the end proving shes not someone who can be walked all over.

Basically, the plot is that Cassandra saw Mia auctioning off her virginity on an escort website and decided last minute to put a bid in. Cassandra of course wins and the heroines decide that for Mia to get her money she would have to live with Cassandra for a month and be a live-in sub. The part of the plot reminded me a lot of Anna Stone's other novel, Hers to Keep (another one I love). Mia is a heroine that knows she enjoys being a sub but has never had the opportunity to be in a BDSM relationship and of course, they both end up falling in love with each other in the end. Of course, we need some suspense which we have by Cassandra having secrets and someone who has gotten out of jail is out to get her. I really enjoyed the pacing and the plot of the novel and feel like it everything made sense. I found myself invested throughout the whole book, even gasping at many parts because I was shook at the new discovery.

Another small thing that I love is how Anna Stone always includes cameos, especially from other series! I love seeing past couples and it's such a small fun touch to the story.

I also am in love with Riley and NEED their romance next. In a perfect world, Anna Stone will let Riley have a plus-size love interest. Overall, I just need more of them and their backstory!

I loved so much about this and everyone needs to start this new series by Anna Stone!

I usually love Anna Stone’s books A LOT, but this one just fell a little short. The story felt too rushed and there was almost no build up in terms of the relationship between Mia and Cassandra and I’m not a fan of insta love that’s too insta lol It was a good story with great MCs, but the delivery was too rushed for my liking, sadly.

2.5 stars. It's been more than 2 years since I read the first book in this series, and I thought I'd return to it. Unfortunately, those 2 years helped me to forget how lowkey bored I was with the first one, and sadly, the same thing happened here. The premise was so good though; I was really interested in picking it up. Mia is a young woman with a lot of debt and a sister with health issues, so she puts her virginity up for auction on an exclusive site. Cassandra is a wealthy businesswoman and domme who buys her, half on a whim, half out of an urge to protect her. They enter an arrangement where Mia will live with and submit to Cassandra for a month, all that jazz. It's not particularly original, but it sounded good, and I'm always ready to read a new take on an old idea. But this was just kind of bland! It's not very long, but I feel like I've read shorter books where the characters interact more, and form more of a connection. I feel like we see Mia being intrigued by BDSM, being intrigued by her new mistress, but the evolution of her actual feelings came super abruptly. Or at least, it felt like that to me. Some of the character decisions made me really annoyed. (Like Mia, not wanting her very rich mistress to give her a little advance on her payment, to take care of the very real danger present in her life. Girl, is your pride worth that much?? ACCEPT THE HELP!!) Cassandra's plot and backstory were fine, but it just felt a little old, a little played out. I've said this before, but sometimes, even on the very sentence level, it feels like all this author's work is the same. Nothing wrong with the writing; it's just that I'm very aware that I could read this exact same thing in another one of her books, or in someone else's book. And there were little writing things that kinda annoyed me. Like when one character narrates their shared history with another character... to that same person. It's so silly. I know you're trying to give that information to the reader, but it's always so clunky and unnatural sounding.

But there was nothing bad enough about the book that I wanted to DNF it, so I continued. I'm labelling this romantic suspense because there was a little of it at the end, and it was okay. Which is what I often find myself saying about this author's books; they're okay. And yet I keep coming back to them! I do think the last time I had success with her writing, it was with a book from her backlist. So maybe I should go back and read more of those, instead of her newer stuff.

Listened to the audiobook as read by Allie Shae, and at least that was a treat. I adore her voice and the way she does emotion; she's become one of my favourite narrators. This was definitely sexy, and it was a quick, cute, simple read. But it also made me bored and annoyed, so.... eh.

Second in the series but can be read as standalone. I’d recommend reading the first one first though because it’s a good book and it’s lovely when old friends and places pop up in later stories.
AS is great at this type of story with good character development, good pacing, a balance of plot and romance and enough BDSM to spice it up without being painful to read. If you have liked any of her other books you’ll like this one too. The really clever thing is that they are not repetitive and they all have a unique story.
I’m looking forward to reading Riley’s story hopefully coming next!

A quick and enjoyable read with a happy ending that I can totally recommend.

What a beautiful age gap/rich woman poor woman/ Domme sub love story! Mia is in debt to a loan shark, so she auctions off her virginity. Luckily for her Cassandra wins the bid. They make a contract that Mia will be her sub for 1 month. The stipulation is Mia will live with Cassandra for that month.
This is such a loving story. Cassandra respects Mia and of course it's reciprocated back. There's also a big plot twist and some scary moments! You'll thoroughly enjoy this as I did!! A FAVORITE!5 stars!

Ahhh! I loved this! Loved the story and the build up. The spice was so good, I wanted more! Definitely want to read more of Anna’s books. The audio was done so well also, Allie Shae does such a great job narrating.

This is written in third person with 2x POV’s. Ice Queen, age gap, rich girl/poor girl, BDSM, Domme/Sub dynamic, Femme/Femme, with 5x spicy scenes.

When I started this book I thought yesssss, this is going to be my kind of read. But unfortunately it wasn’t. For me it lacked real chemistry buildup. Maybe the whole Di story should have been skipped because it took away from the bonding for me. And that story give me more questions than answers. So no more that 3 stars in the end.

Anna Stone delivers again with Saving Mia, book two in her Queens series. It’s possible to read as a stand-alone, but don’t because you will be missing Guarding Tess, which is equally as great.

Cassandra is a CEO on top of her game, and her specific tastes in women have her relying on escorts to satisfy her even if it is just for one night. She stumbles across Mia, who is auctioning off her virginity to help her family pay medical bills and get ahead. When the two women meet, Cassandra is enthralled by Mia, and Mia is forced to question her sexuality. They come to a mutual agreement and slowly begin to learn about each other. Over the course of a month, the chemistry builds, and both are craving more than what was first agreed upon.

Cassandra has baggage from her past, which is hinted at before it is fully revealed. It helps the reader to connect with her and understand her desire to be independent. Mia, who is also carrying burdens from her past, is young but worldly, helping her to be open to what has been offered to her. There is no coercion, no miscommunication, and the MCs sizzle with built-up sexual tension.

Anna Stone balances an intriguing plot with character building and some hot BDSM scenes. Nothing feels rushed or over the top, and the gradual move from lust to love seems to happen organically. Cassandra and Mia’s journey is one that shouldn’t be missed, so make sure you check out, Saving Mia.

whereas the first book in this series was more romance oriented, this second installment was more plot driven; there was more darkness to it, that added a depth to the story, which felt felt more nuanced, layered. the characters were as complementary as they mirrored each other, the parallel between how they met and how cassandra met the villain in this story, paired with her overarching journey from sub to dom, but more importantly, from victim to protector was beautifully written and handled with such respect for not only her as an individual, but within the couple, it just felt right. on another note, the fact that the queens club, briefly mentioned prior when introducing this character, was well established throughout the story to the point where its developed carried the action itself added to the book.
i especially appreciated, once again, how the recurring side character riley was such a pivotal element to the story. they were already my favorite, this only solidified my need for their own book (hopefully with someone from lilith's den, the bdsm club that connects this universe).

Just like BDSM itself the build-up in this book is next level, I couldn't put it down, it draws you in from the beginning and has you begging for more 😏

Mia and Cassandra's story is fantastic and alluring, I love Age-gap Romance as I'm sure you all well know by now, but Anna has a way of bringing her writing alive and keeping you engaged throughout and I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is fire and worth waiting for. Go and pre-order this book now, it will NOT disappoint 🔥🥵😏

If you haven't read any of her other books before I highly recommend you start with Being Hers (Irresistibly Bound series) but you can read this book as a two-part starting with Capturing Tess. However, I recommend you read the other series first, Irresistibly Bound, then Mistress, then Black Diamond. They all connect brilliantly and I loved all of them. Saying that I do have a soft spot for 'Hers to Keep' in 'Irresistibly Bound' series book 'Forever Theirs' in the 'Mistress' series they are my favourites 😍

Highly Recommend!

I read this as an arc

The only complaint I will ever have about an Anna Stone book is that I want more!!

I love how she keeps these characters all in the same little world by bringing in Lilith’s Den.

As a side note… I love that we’re finding out more about Riley…. They fascinate me greatly!!

On to my review… Cassandra is a very complex character, very guarded and rightfully so. Her power and femininity are what make her so alluring! She’s very calculating and precise in her dealings with Mia. Not exactly sure how I feel about the purchase of Mia’s virginity through the website, but in all the story turned out to be great.

There were time when I felt Mia was a little too submissive for having zero experience and I definitely think she fell a little too quickly. I won’t give the details but when we first meet Mia she seems so innocent but it turns out differently later on!!

I’m really looking forward to the next book and to seeing which amazing character is next!!

Anna Stone, never, ever disappoints and always leaves you wanting more.

As soon as I read the first page of Saving Mia, I couldn’t put it down.

I love how Ms Stone’s characters are written, they have depth to them and are not cardboard cutouts. The sexual tension between Mia and Cassandra is palpable. She includes people and places that have been in her other series, and you know you are in the world where they can all meet. I find that awesome!

I’m not going to tell you any of the story as you will have read the blurb already and telling you any more than that will spoil a wonderful story. Suffice to say, if you want a hot, interesting and fantastic read, then this is the novel for you.

Do yourself a favour, jump online now and get this book! And while you are there, get Capturing Tess, which is the first book in the Queens series and equally as good.

I was given an ARC for a fair and unbiased review.

EDIT (01/02/2025)
Changed my rating from 4 stars to 5.
I enjoyed this way more the second time around, probably even more than the first in the series.

(01/05/2024)
I didn't really enjoy the last Anna Stone book I read so I was a bit worried.

I was pleasantly surprised and I actually really really enjoyed it.

I like the characters and the plot was interesting.
But the whole "mistress" and "you belong to me" thing is still really weird to me.

Saving Mia

Once again, Anna Stone wows me with her stories. I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed the chemistry and connection between the MCs, the angst was quick and resolved timely and sufficiently. I look forward to the next book in the series.
