Remi Laroche is spiraling after false rumors and photoshopped pornographic images of him are spread around his university. Then to top it all off, he's evicted from his apartment. His sugar daddy is the one who comes to his rescue and picks up the pieces when Remi is falling apart. Dimitrios Cirillo is not a hero, or at least he never has been before. There's something about Remi that makes him want to play that role for the first time ever. His sugar baby is the only one who gets his protection... because his good boy is the only one who deserves it.
What these books need is a good editor, someone who can whittle away the excess and polish what is kept. I love the characters and the peeks of storyline, but it's too thinly spread across the books when not enough happens in any of them.
I love how throughout these pretty lengthy books, (for romance at least), it feels like the author is slowly peeling back the curtain and letting us in on little bits of really important world building that I know is going to culminate in an epic love story in the final book. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE HEAT!
also, STOP BEING DUMB AND REALIZE YOU'RE ALREADY IN LOVE!
As much as it pains me to say this, Good Boy is 90% filler. *Nothing* happens. 600 pages and there’s about enough plot to fill 100 pages max! I thought Pretty Boy was overly long, but I still liked it because there was plenty happening and of course there was also the introduction of major characters. Good Boy has none of that.
What bothers me is that I genuinely like Remi and Dimitrios, both individually and together. This, in addition to Jett Masterson being a skilled writer, is the only reason why I’m even entertaining the thought of giving this 3 stars.
My review will cover the whole series since I read all three books back to back.
Remi Laroche, a financially struggling college student, loses his job when the cafe he works at suddenly shuts down. He's dealing with a messy breakup with an ex who doesn't seem to take no for an answer, and with his bills coming up + winter, he needs to find another job fast. A friend suggests he sign up for a sugar baby match service. He doesn't want to, but he finds that as his situation gets worse, he has nothing to lose. He's fiercely independent and finds that this will allow him to get financial security without getting into another relationship with an Alpha.
Dimitrios Cirillo is a workaholic and the CEO of a famous and influential tech company, and due to his intense work schedule, he hasn't had a chance to get off recently. He wants to have sex but does not want a relationship. He decides to sign up for the sugar baby/daddy agency, the perfect solution to his situation. He can provide for an omega, and in exchange, he will get regular sex with any of the issues that come with a relationship.
However, as they get to know one another, their relationship starts to shift into something more than just sex or money.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I wanted to start from book one, but I don’t do well with cliffhangers and decided to wait until it was completed, and it was worth the wait.
If you read Jett’s work before, you know what to expect. It’s very much a relationship forced, and we get very, very sugary, sweet, and hot moments between Remi and Dimi. While there are external and some internal issues between the two as their relationship grows from being Sugar Baby and Daddy. I love seeing how independent Remi was outside in his life and work, but with Dimi, he was able to be submissive and let go.
Their sexual compatibility and chemistry were off the charts. We get lots of sex scenes between the two. While there’s a growing romance, Jett made sure to make this book super spicy - seriously, the plot is secondary to the smut. Some of the scenes can get repetitive, especially across three books, but honestly, it was no issue for me personally; I enjoyed each and every one of them. I also loved the long heat scenes! Thank you, Jett.
Also, there was a fair amount of kink (Daddy, praise, bondage, orgasm denials, lingerie, etc), nothing extreme, but Dimitrios is a Daddy and a pleasure Dom. Dimitrios became more and more possessive of Remi, so I liked seeing that as well.
It took a while for both of them to get on the same page regarding their feelings; everyone but them could see it. However, once they do, it’s perfect!
This series is long! I think each book is, on average, 500 pages; now, did it need to be that long? No, but at the same time, I am a glutton. If I like something, I want more of it. I’m a massive fan of the omegaverse world that Jett has created. They give me so much of the things I enjoy in this subgenre. So, the length did not bother me; I was really engrossed and invested in their relationship.
Jett has a particular narrative style, and if you read their books before you know what to expect, but for some readers I know this won’t be for them. I’ve mentioned it before, but there are some head-hopping and mid-page switches of character POVs which can be an issue.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series and am glad that I read it. Honestly, I’ve read every book by Jett so far and need more! Can’t wait to see what is next from this author.
The first words that come to mind are syrupy sweet
Book 2 picks up where book one left off and Remi is dealing with the aftermath of his bullies taking things too far. I personally have found this storyline annoying it seems out of place for college students, but it hasn’t annoyed me enough to not read the book.
Demetrios saves the day, and he essentially avenges Remi for the harassment by the other omegas at the college and that plot point is resolved relatively early in the book. The rest of this book is spent deepening the relationship between Remi and Demetrios which I really appreciate it. I mean it’s a romance so we already know that they are going to be more than sugar daddy/sugar baby but we need them to know it.
This book was really spicy. The spicy scenes were long and they were detailed, and they were full of emotion, which I really appreciated. I also really liked the slow development of Remi and Demetrios deepening relationship. it’s like we get a slow burn for the emotions, but not for the spice, which is my favorite kind of slowburn. Give me all the spice, but let the characters warm up to the deeper feelings and that’s exactly what we get here.
The book ends with Remi feeling unsure about his place in Demetrios life. Unfortunately, this is going to be a case of miscommunication, which is always a really annoying trope for me like I just wish characters would talk to each other. Throughout the book they both recognize that they want more but neither is saying it they are acting like a full blown couple, but they are both also saying, but we’re just sugar, daddy and sugar baby it’s really stupid. I don’t
I imagine in book 3 we’re gonna get a mating bite and mating ceremony at some point. Book 2 ended with Remi poised to go into heat so we’re going to get to watch them go through one of Remi‘s heat, which is definitely going to be super hot. I look forward to the next book I just hope that we aren’t going to have to suffer through chapters of uncertainty between the couple because they refuse to openly speak to each other about what they both really want . I also wish it didn’t take so long but the writing is quality so it’s worth it.
I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one. It was nice to see their relationship development in this book. They are seeing, acting, and treating each other as more than their label but don’t address how in love/codependent they are of each other. Definitely feel like that’s going to be a big part of the plot in the next book.
On a different note, Leon I love you, you are a mood. Also, I’m glad the Cade Omega drama was taken care of and that the D. Bishop drama wasn’t the bullying trope because I would have raged.
A great continuation!!! These MCs are becoming so dear to me. I love their dynamic, and I love that though there are problems that they have to overcome, they always overcome them together. Ugh, PRECIOUS ANGELS. I wasn’t overly thrilled about the antagonist in this book, but it is still a fantastic story that makes me squeal 🥹
Remi and Dimi’s story really picked up the pace in this second book and I continue to be absolutely obsessed with them.
The writing was much cleaner, there were still moments of repetition but it was definitely a decrease from the first book. I really don’t mind it too much anymore.
There also was a lot more plot line in this book. It’s still mostly focused on the spice, but there were other things happening in the background to keep interest.
I’m both excited and sad to be going into the final book of this trilogy. When I started with Pretty Boy, I really wasn’t sure if I was gonna stick with it. Now I’m unwilling to say goodbye. This really is such a fun and fluffy series.
definitely better than the first one bit still so very repetitive. also, it’s pretty telling when i find myself fast scrolling through endless pages of sex scenes just to get to the story. i like smut but goodness this was 60% sex scenes 40% story. i was actually interested in their relationship outside of the bedroom.
So the writing style definitely gets old after a while but I’m still so invested in the story that I plan on reading the last one. I’ll just skim the steamy stuff like I did in this one, that cuts down on the reading significantly lol
Solid two stars because I actually do want to like the plot but my goodness is the developing relationship repetitive.
So here's the thing: if you've made it to book two, you know this trilogy is not really about character development. Some of that happens, but just as with the first book, it takes a limousine back seat to the sex. I again commend Masterson on writing decent sex scenes that recognize things like people having bones, although I in my mid-30s am just laughing hysterically at the sheer amount of sex happening. Refractory period? Never heard of her! The suspension of disbelief that Dimitrios at 35 can have some seven bouts of enthusiastic sex per day is honestly the most fictional thing here, which is a high bar to clear.
The repetition part that was so fierce here, even more so than the first book, is the parallel realizations of Remi and Dimitrios about each other. Remi has approximately 400 million moments of "alpha dangerous, yet alpha safe" in terms of "Dimitrios is kinky but not abusive." Good! I'm glad to hear it! I don't need to hear it this many times! (I will point out this sentence I marked, because as repetitive as the sentiment is, it is the heart of BDSM that all the involved things are freely given, never stolen: "The omega handed himself over to him, not just through domination, but through trust." [394] Yes. Yes, that, and that over every "50 Shades" trash that thinks kink = dubcon.)
For Dimitrios' part, his thought process about Remi is this quote: "Remi truly had to possess his favorite mixture of traits. Innocent and filthy. Sweet and sensual. Shy and brazen" (185). I get it, I do; demure in the streets, freak in the sheets. A tired dichotomy (and one of many that are interesting here simply because they're overwhelmingly female-coded, and I haven't quite figured out if that's the omegaverse aspect that borrows patriarchal notions of gender or whether Masterson is straight-up writing Remi as a boy in a girl's "role," per usual romance/erotica tropes. If the latter, I'm here for the genderqueering and expectation shifting) but fine, just stop telling me about it every other page. Between that and the overuse of the word "sass" (there are synonyms, I promise), this felt like much more of a slog than the first book.
The other biggest repetition wasn't of wordsmithing but of a very real power: money. Any time there is any obstacle whatsoever, Dimitrios fixes it with money--and the thing is, that one isn't fiction at all. "The alpha had so little time to arrange things...but usually problems like that could be overcome by just throwing money at them" (529). Absolutely, absolutely true; money may not buy happiness but it sure as heck can buy health, safety, security, companionship, comfort, and no small amount of hope. The many times the reader is reminded of how bonkers rich Dimitrios is (it feels Steve Jobs-level, which is immoral and ridiculous so there's that) underscore that the pining-while-f*cking bit is actually the worst problem he has because it's one that really can't be solved with money--here, a plot rarity.
Which isn't to say I hated it. I will absolutely read the third one because I'm interested to see what happens (and they're cheap on Kindle, I'll say it). There is a plot, truly, and while it's a wildly implausible plot it is interesting to see how the main pair navigates falling in love with each other while absolutely refusing to see that that's what's happening as they get more and more intense about protecting each other. And the domesticity in this book! It's adorable.
tl;dr: This one needs a good editor in a way that the first one did but moreso. That said, it's still brain candy with decent sex scenes and a couple at the center who are developed enough that I want them to succeed.
Not me realizing this was a trilogy and not a duology by the time I got to the end and saw there was yet another cliffhanger....bruh, it even says so right in the series title 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️.
Okay but to get back on topic, this was soo good!
I love the evolving dynamic between Remi and Dimitrious. Seeing Remi become increasingly confident and even sassy at times and Dimitrious becoming more vulnerable with Remi, and voicing more of his emotional needs is so heartwarming. Like they both make each other feel so safe and unlock hidden desires, emotional and physical, that were so buried deep in their hearts they'd convinced themselves those desires weren't needed. Dimitrious absolutely ADORES Remi & Remi just wants to be the bestest boy for Dimitrious in every way, it's just a beauty to read.
The sex is so good too! It is a lot, but I love it because it reads so desperate in that they can't get enough of each other; like most times Remi just keeps wanting to be fucked despite how many times he's already been used so it's all just so hot and intense. But you can tell they're so in love and their intimacy is so perfect it's literally overwhelming to even read. They're just so DISGUSTINGLY ADORABLE AND CUTE, FOR FUCKS SAKE I CANT.
My only small negative points are that: the book is really long cos it's dual PoV-I think I mentioned this in my book 1 review. They just repeat the same thing but from the other MC's perspective, so it seems unecessary and just takes up a lot of pages. There's also sort of like an actual daddy x little dynamic which I'm not a fan of, so the whole "little one" nickname thing and the often babyfication of Remi was a bit icky for me.
Overall though, really love the series so far. I just want Remi and Dimi to pull their heads out of their asses now and actually confess to each other so they can be HEA already, so I'm gonna rush to pick up Book 3!
I don’t know how I’m gonna survive waiting for the next book. I really don’t. Why Masterson?? This author loves to leave us hanging and I love and hate it. The anticipation is just…horrible but so good. Okay so let’s just say Masterson is the absolute master of writing intimate scenes. The steamy scenes will stretch on for pages, and they are written so well. So many authors can’t do this, giving the scenes maybe one page. The thing is, the book is like 80% steamy scenes! Don’t get me wrong, they’re so enjoyable to read because they’re written so well, but more drama! Please! A chapter will be like more than a few bed scenes and then the author teases us with some plot. So frustrating! Yes, s*x is a big part of their sugar baby-sugar daddy relationship, but please. Give us something. It’s been two long books, and Masterson is really tortured us. Not until the very end of the second book does Dimi and Remi finally have somewhat of a realization that they want more from each other than their current relationship. It’s like slow burn, but not for the bed scenes (those are evidently very present in both books), but for love I guess? Something like that. I don’t know, grasping at straws here. I really can’t wait for the next book. I waited awhile for the second book and it’ll probably be another long wait to the third book. Masterson really loves to torture us with cliffhangers.
- an MM omegaverse romance! no. 2 in the trilogy! sugar baby, BDSM, age gap, billionaire romance! - what do you MEAN it’s 600 pages 😭 - i will be calling Dimitrios Dimi in this entire review as it is easier to type/spell x - absolutely adored how Dimi looked after Remi during and after his breakdown🥺 - i like how we get the same plot from both POV’s if that makes sense?? like same scene both POV’s - i want to see those omegas PAY FOR THEIR ACTIONS - that was one of the most intense sex scenes i’ve ever read - Remi offering to pay the lawyer was so frickin cute - it was incredibly satisfying during that meeting i won’t lie, loved every second - when are they going to admit they’re in a real relationship?? i get Remi still gets money but like… they ARE boyfriends - i’ve had to start skimming the sex scenes i won’t lie 😂 - the buying and creating of the nest were the CUTEST scenes EVER - sassy Remi is my FAVOURITE Remi!! him being such a bitch to Danielle was 10/10 - oooo bringing out their inner wolves👀 - i very much enjoyed the anal bead scene - oh we’re about the go into heat…. - the sex scenes are very detailed and very long - oh Dimi… you meant so well but you are such an idiot 🤦🏻♀️ - okay so sort of another cliff hanger to end this one? but it just ended on a really sad note :( - and this did not need to be 600 pages lol
This was even better than the first one. The first one left me on a cliffhanger I needed to see resolved and thankfully it was quick to resolve it. After losing his home and being humiliated by his peers at school, Remi is struggling. Dimitrios is quick to step in and save the day. I love seeing them tackle these issues together, but even more so, I love seeing them grow to love and trust each other. It's fun to see them enjoying mundane tasks together and fight for each other. I love how Remi cares for Dimitrios whenever he's having a bad day, too. My two favorite parts are It is killing me that these two are denying their feelings STILL. I mean it's been 1,100 pages at this point. You love each other. Admit it and mate, please! But that's what keeps me coming back I guess! I am loving this book, these characters, their dynamic, and the taking care of each other.
Notes: 4/5 spice levels, d/s, sugar baby, financial differences, mcs taking care of each other, billionaire mc, college student, age gap, daddy kink
2.5/5. If you could copy + paste a review from one book to the next, this would be the time I’d do it. Literally the exact same complaints/concerns/annoyances, but I will say this one had even more glimpses of the good shit that consistently gets overshadowed by the absolutely dire need for editing, proofing, and formatting of any kind. I love the subtle shifts and details that show the progression of their relationship. From always using only honorifics/generic endearments, to adding in nicknames/first names/my alpha/omega; going from saying things like, “you like that/I like that,” to saying “I love that/you love that”; all of the silly moments of breaking the fourth wall a lá Fresh Prince of Bel-Air-style (blatant, yet well-placed, and managing to be good and not ridiculous) are probably my favourite little moments. There’s so much good here, and I still recommend it if you can focus on that and ignore the messiness. That’s the whole reason for the rating. You can say whatever you want, but it won’t change the fact that mechanics are important and ignoring them isn’t the move. I’m gonna go dive into the last book and enjoy the silly goose reckoning that’s to come.
remi and dimitrios are just so cute. one of my favorite things about this book is that, as it progressed, we got some more moments of actual connection between them. it was sweet to see the reasons why dimitrios and remi were developing real feelings for each other even though they haven’t admitted that yet. remi gives dimitrios things he’s never had from other partners before, and loves him for more than his power and money, and dimitrios makes remi feel so loved and safe and protected. it’s so sweet to see the soft spot dimitrios has for remi vs the way he conducts his business and treats those who threaten remi.
i still wish there was less smut and more dates and stuff in this book, but we finally got our first real date since their initial meeting so i’ll consider that a win. i just hope in the next book we get more. it wouldn’t be so annoying if the smut was different, but it’s just a lot of the same stuff over and over. i like the scenes when they do something different.
Now that the story has been established in book one, I can honestly say that book two was better than the first. There were so many tender moments between Dimi and Remi that had me swooning and eager for the next moment. You can see as they start to understand each other and fall for one another, while trying to convince themselves that the other person doesn’t fell that way and that this is all an arrangement. There were so many moments that had me going ‘FUCK YEA!’ as Dimi protects Remi from his bullies, and Remi doesn’t back down from an omega who should know her place. I’m honestly looking forward to part three, There were so many spicy moments that just had me fanning myself and clutching my pearls and I cannot wait to start book three, though I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself once it’s done. I do hope we get an answer to a very important question: How many hoodies does Dimi actually own??? He owns way too many for someone who just sits around in sweatpants at home and rarely dresses casually.
Hope Jett has a praise kink because that's all I have for this book. Not much to add after the review for the first book. Dimi is a sexy protective alpha and Remi is a previous adorable dirty bean (maybe he should be the one with a coffee scent). Supporting characters are charming, especially Aiden and Phoenix. I do find it ironic when Demi says he wants to shake both his friends when they're insecure because of how obvious their love for one another is. Considering we as readers want to do exactly that to him and Dimi. I both love how Dimi is protective of Remi and will destroy anyone that even upsets him, it's sad however that he would not gave brought the bullies to justice if it hadn't been his omega getting hurt but it is more realistic that he'd be selfish. I honestly just cannot wait for the next book, the conclusion to this series and the happy ending these two are destined to have. I will be buying physical copies of them all to enshrine in my collection among some of my all-time favorites.
This review is for the full trilogy as I read them back to back. This trilogy has a repetition issue. The characters non stop repeat how they cant believe the other one chose them, how perfect they are for them, and yet it still takes them three 400+ page books to (book 3 spoiler) I did skim a LOT of the Spicy scenes as they were so frequent and repetitive I started getting bored of them. If they had cut down on the sex scenes and focused more on the story and budding romance I do think this would have been a better series, and a shorter one. I didn't think it was 1 star worthy because I really enjoyed the character building, I loved Remys friends and family and would actually have loved to read a book about some of them. The conflicts were somewhat interesting, but the main conflict of them being in a sugar baby/daddy relationship dragged on WAY too long.
Also loved the cover art for the first two books, third one not so much.
3.5 stars. You very much get what you pay for in this book. It's really more of the same: doting alpha having truly excessive amounts of sex with his sweet, pretty omega. There's almost no plot or angst, it's just scene after scene of Remi getting thoroughly debauched. There's an element of infantilization that I had to really fight with myself not to get grossed out over. Dimitrios calls Remi "little one" in very sexual situations and it made me pretty uncomfortable, in almost every aspect Remi is treated like an actual child, and so much is made of how small and petite and cute and innocent he is, and like I know it's their vibe but a small part of my brain struggled. It's also super repetitive, they have the same conversations, the same internal monologues and the same sex all the time. I took it slowly, and read in short bursts, but I think it would get old real quick if you read it cover to cover. That said, it was a great mindless, comforting read, so I'm not too mad about it.
5 stars. Just like book one did not need to be 500 something pages this one didn’t need to be 600 but dammit I’m so glad that it is because I still devoured the hell out of this tome. I’m obsessed with this series. This book picks up right where book one ended and let me tell you Dimitrios is at his absolute best here in so many different ways. The way he handled the problem that Remi was going through at the school was everything. He’s super protective and caring but I also loved seeing him be so vulnerable here and allowing for Remi to care for him in return in his own little ways. It was beautiful and such great growth and development of his character. Remi also goes through some growth as well. The romance is so swoony and there are a lot of sex scenes in this and each one hits. So good. The ending ruined me again and now I have to wait for book three!
I had the opportunity to arc read Good Boy and y’all… when I tell you. I am quite happy to be a one person @jettmasterson cheering squad. Good Boy picks up right where Pretty Boy ends and we get to see Remi and Dimi navigate their dynamic all while being challenged by some bullies that need a good slap to the face. But don’t worry, Daddy Dimi’s there. And so is sassy Remi. As per usual the spice is spicing. Let me just say that there’s a c*ckwarming scene that is somehow so wholesome yet hot. If you haven’t read it yet, start with Pretty Boy. I did a refresher reread of Pretty Boy and Good Boy in 3 days and I’m already clamoring for the last book! 5/5 would read again, recommend and purchase a physical copy. M/M, omegaverse, Sugar Daddy/Baby, BDSM.
All i can say is OMG! This series has so many dips n turns it just keeps you hooked til the very end n then scrambling to get the next one…the only problems i had were that a few times throughout both books it refers to their inner wolves, but not once did they ever or was their even a mention of them shifting into a wolf. Except when Dimi n Remi’s eyes changed colors to red n blue signifying their inner wolves coming forward…n the cliffhangers are awe full especially this one bc idk when the next book will be available😢😍 n i need to know what happens next lol… i would def recommend this series to anyone
I love the story. Remi is still the sweetest omega. Domitrios is still the best alpha ever. However, this book was mostly filled with smexy times and for a book of this length I actually found myself skimming through those parts. They weren't badly written it just became redundant, and I'm not one to skim usually. But this time I found myself wanting more of the actual storyline and plot but both really took the backseat to those scenes. I really hope there is more focus on those in the third book. I love the characters and the friendships in this book. Just give us more of the actual story.
• MM non-shifter omegaverse • omega x alpha • sugar baby x sugar daddy • size difference • age gap (21/35) • Daddy/little k!nk (no age play) • strong good boy/praise k!nk • knotting • BDSM + D/s dynamic (soft/caretaking Dom) • toys • femboy • college student x rich businessman • every day life • pet names: baby, good/pretty boy, little one, sweetheart • low angst • fast burn lust, slow burn love • strict top/bottom • 3rd pov • dual pov
The second book became a little repetitive at times with both the spicy scenes and internal thoughts. It felt a little long because of this, but I still enjoyed it, even though I had to take breaks at times and read something else to get some variation.
It’s a pretty cute and sweet story mixed with some BDSM k!nky stuff, with a heavy Daddy k!nk.
I really love both mmcs and think they are so cute together.
I recommend this book if you’re looking for something light (no big dramas between the mmcs so far), with two beautiful characters engaging in lots of sexy and a bit k!nky times!
