Hi Followers;

Have you ever read the Animal Ark series of books-even when you were younger? This book is a good one to read. This old guy named Percy has asthma. He is in the hospital for "bronchitis". Bronchitis is caused when you have an "asthma attack." Anyways, while on that part, Mandy and James spot a brown-and-white Jack Russell terrier all alone near a house. One person has said that the dog ran in front of an ambulance and then stole a girl's bag of chips. Mandy gets close to the rascal, but it runs to the hospital and through the hospital parking lot. It almost gets away with the security guard's sandwiches, which have pickles in them, which are his favorite, by the way. It is under a bush at the hospital in the parking lot. The dog has been out in the cold and is hungry when Mandy and James see it. When this was going on, I was thinking they would never catch him. The dog was going everywhere but towards Mandy and James. This is all a dramatic middle to end. Mandy says: "Hello! What are you doing here all alone?" The dog is obviously nervous. The dog belongs to Percy, who let him go OR the dog escaped from his custody and hid from him, Mandy and James. Mandy throws him treats and she says: "You must be starving, you poor boy!" The dog says "more please". I could tell right at this part that he was very hungry. I was asking myself some questions while this was going on. One was: Where was he sleeping when he was out in the cold? Two was: What was he eating when he was out in the cold? Mandy and James finally caught him and ended the dramatic part. Then, they brought him into the hospital to see Percy. Right now, in the hospital, volunteers are preparing for Santaland.

Hope you read this;

Mandy Hope and her friend James are at the hospital helping to prepare for Father Christmas to visit the children.As Mandy is walking inside with a box of decorations, she sees a dog in the bushes.She tries to catch him, but he runs away.Will Mandy be able to get him home in time for the holidays?

This book was amazing.I loved that the dog was fun and playful.I also loved that Mandy tried so hard to get the dog home,so his owner could spend the holidays not worrying about his dog.

I reccomend this book for people who love animals.I also reccomend it for people who want a book to read before the holidays.

This is a review of the American Scholastic edition, attributed to the fake author name of Ben Baglio. This was originally published in the UK by Hodder under the fake author name of Lucy Daniels. The real author was veteran Animal Ark writer Sue Bently.

Let us have another, longer moment of silence for Mandy's three pet rabbits -- Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail. They disappeared for the most part since about book 15, made a brief appearance one or two Chrstmas Specials ago, but now have been given a more or less official kiss of death. Mandy is asked by a little boy if she has pets, and says no.

Ouch. I wonder why Mandy was allowed three rabbits in the first books if they were only to disappear so shortly afterwards. I know it's only a kids book series, but the not knowing why is intensely baffling. I mean, did they think the readers would never notice?

Anyway, this is a cute, fluffy holiday read -- just what we've come to expect from an Animal Ark Holiday Special. Like most Animal Ark books, this has an A and a B plot, which are interwoven.

Plot A: There's a mysterious stray Jack Russell terrier hanging around the local hospital grounds.
Plot B: The Hopes and James are planning a Santaland thingy for the children at the aforementioned hospital.

The devil is in the details, but the angel can be there, too. A couple of particularly nice details were that the Jack Russell did not have a docked tail, and that an elderly guinea pig was given surgery. Many guinea pig owners refuse to give their pets veterinary care. Any pet, including guinea pigs, are just as deserving of veterinary care as a million dollar racehorse. It was nice to see the gentle reminder.

My favorite character in the series is Blackie, James' dog. He has a moment or two to shine here.

Jenny Gregory did a decent job with the illustrations, especially one of James, Blackie and the Jack Russell.

Another on my journey of clearing out books from my shelves... This is a part of a series of books about the adventures a girl whose parents are veterinarians and run an animal care/hospital attached to their home. This one was about a cure Jack Russell who was loyally devoted to his owner. Cute story for the age group.

This Animal Ark seasonal special has Mandy and James helping with a Santa's grotto at the local hospital, reuniting a Jack Russell terrier they find in the car park with its owner and befriending a recovering child. The story is rather drawn out but it gets there in the end.

This was a great holiday story. Very sweet message and a great reminder to people that humans need other people (and animals) to get by, even if they don’t always come right out and say it.

Read this book when I was five...that was 9 years ago and i still remember it.

This was the first animal ark book that I enjoyed. I thought that the other books were predictable e.g. there was a problem could Mandy and so and so fix it? I used to think yes. I also didn't really like animal based books and that's still true but this book was great.

which is why when I read the blurb to this book I thought it sounded really good and it was a great book.

I recommend this book to younger readers and animal lovers.

This is a great series of books for kids who love animals. This one is pretty good. The book is not too long and a pretty easy read. A good book for readers moving from transitional to chapter books.

I know I've read more Animal Ark books but the details of any of them escape me. I'm fairly certain I own this one though because I remember the cover!
